The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance-Chapter 15: Incompetence
Chapter 15 - Incompetence
Lucas pulled back a chair and sat down.
Violet then brought up, "I know that you are seeking fun, but even then, you need to stay loyal to your mate. Imagine how disappointed she would once she finds out. Mate bonds are the most special. You will know once you meet her."
Lucas stared at her, amused. "You should be hating on mates, instead of advising me here. Haven't you learned your lesson?"
Violet pulled her lips into a thin line.
Right.
It was hypocritical of her to say so when she had been betrayed by her own mate.
Lucas then asked, "What were you so upset about today?"
Violet stared at Lucas for a while, wondering whether it was appropriate for her to bring it up. But those gentle and comforting eyes of Lucas made her open up.
"The Alpha said that he will find a place for me in the human land, somewhere safe," Violet slowly said.
Lucas grinned widely.
"That's a good thing then. The Alpha usually stays away from others' matters, not liking trouble, but since he decided to help you, he must be a little fond of you," Lucas spoke out excitedly.
That stung Violet even more.
No one expected her to stay here.
She was indeed getting too far ahead of herself.
Violet concealed her emotions and forced out a smile, nodding. "Yeah. I haven't been to human land before, so I was nervous, wondering how it is there."
It was difficult for her to not let her voice crack.
"Human land? It is quite fascinating. Should I take you there one day for a little tour and get you familiar?" Lucas offered.
Violet clenched her hand into a tight fist. Never was she so vulnerable to emotions. It was probably the hormones during the pregnancy that was messing with her emotions so bad.
"Yeah, we can do that. I am going to sleep now," Violet voiced out, "Good night."
"Good night."
Once Violet was out of the picture, Lucas let down his smile and sighed. How could he not see how Violet was feeling?
But this was no place for her to permanently reside at.
Although she found warmth and comfort in this house— if she stayed for longer, she would only be exposed to the darkness and gloominess. The monsters that run deep in everyone's heart here will tear her apart.
In the end, there will be nothing but hollowness left inside her just like everyone here.
Lucas hoped that she could start anew in the human land and bloom beautifully.

Sylas walked out of the shower. Droplets of water traced down his hair, falling on his bare back. As he sat down on the couch, leaning back, those steely blue eyes fell on the photo standing on the table.
There was a woman standing there. Her hair was pulled into a ponytail— the strands falling on her forehead. There was a vibrant smile on her face.
One of her hands hooked against Sylas's neck and pulled him down to her height. There was helplessness in young Sylas's eyes, as he stared at the woman with love.
His world was shrouded in darkness, as he closed his eyes, letting sleep take him over.

A blond woman laid on the man's chest, drawing circled on the bare surface. As the man pulled the locks of hair away from her face, she raised her head to look at him.
With her lips pouted, she asked, "Do you think she is still alive?"
Bella then added, "You said you didn't feel the mate bond break."
The man's eyes narrowed. "She better be dead."
His comment made Bella sit up. She stared at Mathew with discontentment in her eyes and vocalized, "Don't tell me your old affections are at work. That's why, you don't care about her being alive. Could it be that you want to reunite with her?"
Mathew's eyes flashed red at her tone. He extended his hand, grabbing her by her throat and pushing her on to the bed. His body then hovered over her.
His voice was low and intimidating as he growled. "Don't speak to me in this manner."
The corner of Bella's lips curled up. She understood that Mathew hated being disrespected, stemming from his inferiority complex.
Her slender hands hugged his shoulders, as her long nails, painted red went through, brushed his hair.
Then, in a sultry voice, she said, "Then, could it be that the pack doesn't take you seriously? You know, they could be hiding her purposefully, or else how could no signs of her be found. You need to establish your authority, Mathew. Don't let them question you."

Mathew placed his hand on her cheek and brought his face closer to her, bringing her into a heavy kiss. Bella responded with equal fervor.

The barbed whip struck against the bare upper body of the werewolves kneeling harshly. Slashes were made one after another, and once when a werewolf fainted, salt water was poured on them in order to wake them up.
Bella stood, leaning against the wall, and watched Mathew torture the warrior wolves. Each of Mathew's moves translated the rage inside him.
His loud voice then rang, "You all still do not see me as the Alpha of the pack, right? You all believe that it is her who should have authority of the pack! Is that why you're protecting and hiding her?"
Mathew growled— his fangs protruding out. The beast in him was yearning for a release, so that he could tear all those in front of him.
They looked down on him because he didn't have Alpha blood running in him.
How dare they?
Mathew's barbed whip slashed against the eye of a warrior wolf. Blood instantly flowed out of the delicate organ, as the man grabbed his eye and howled in pain. The others were frightened by this scene.
Mathew felt no remorse while he shouted, "I shall reach you the consequences of challenging my authority. It seems that I need to teach you all the hard way I am the Alpha of the pack. This pack is mine."
One of the warrior wolves gathered his courage and spoke out, "Forgive us for our incompetence. We are trying our best. Give us—"
Before he could carry on forward, his eyes widened as his lifeline was cut off by Mathew digging his hand into his chest, pulling out his heart.
Blood drained out of everyone's face.
