The Sacred Ruins-Chapter 238: Bloody Regicide
Chapter 238: Bloody Regicide
Translator: Alsey Editor: Chrissy
The moon was shining brightly in the night sky.
The clear moonbeams were flowing down onto the mountainous woods like water, and the whole place was enshrouded in a vague misty haze.
The local geography was uneven and adorned with several giant trees. The forest was pervaded by a deathly silence; even the apes and tigers had turned quiet. There was only silence and nothing more.
Chu Feng stood there, diamond chakram in hand and blood staining his body. He was exuding an intimidating aura of valor. His body was glowing under the moonlight and his eyes were luminescent with crackles of electricity.
He had no time to care about his gravely wounded body. His eyes surged with tangible divine light which invoked apprehension in all beholders.
Everyone valued their lives—even king level entities were no exception—no one was moving at this time. None of them were willing to be the first to charge.
All of them were already quite familiar with Chu Feng’s diamond chakram. Even the Black Dragon Crown Prince couldn’t block its momentum and was sent flying with several bones broken.
At this time, even the night birds had stopped singing. A terrifying aura permeated the whole forest and shook the leaves off the trees.
Although there were several king level entities at present, none of them made the first move. Killing intent, however, was thick in the air and a shocking battle could erupt at any moment.
The silence was not equivalent to fear. They were all waiting to kill the enemy in one fell swoop. They looked at each other communicatively and got ready to burst out in an attack at the same time.
In the distant woods, one could see several dozen giant shadows. Their silvery outline could be seen as the moonlight washed over them. It was an intimidating sight to behold.
An eighty meter tall ape with dense black fur and frosty eyes stood baring its fangs like a demonic god. A golden-haired man wielding a shining longsword and exuding deep killing intent could be seen alongside a green-eyed lynx with pointy hair. They were all ready to charge out at a moment’s notice. Fully armored king level entities had sealed off every direction; their eyes were surging with a fiery glow as if a war god had come into being.
"Kill!"
At almost the same time, all the kings charged out amidst loud roars. Within a moment, the whole area was filled with blade lights and sword shadows, an inferno of weaving lightning and fiery magma. The whole chaotic scene was like the replay of a mythological scene.
From the front, the 80-meter tall black ape with boundless strength grabbed a rock dozens of meters long and smashed towards Chu Feng.
Boom!
The air exploded—the rock thrown out by the ape with five severed shackles broke through the sound barrier and induced a terrifying turbulence before falling upon Chu Feng.
Chi!
The Golden Condor King in his human form was quite handsome at 190 centimeters tall. He shot out like a lightning streak and arrived at the front. The shining longsword burst out with a sphere of light tens of meters wide as it hacked down towards Chu Feng, aiming to cut him in half.
"Meow!"
The thirty-meter long lynx’s fur was glowing resplendently as it swung its gigantic claws from the left side and blocked Chu Feng’s escape, its eyes glowing with frosty radiance.
Crack!
The armored human king was fully clad in armor up to his face; only his eyes could be seen. His violet hammer burst forth with giant bolts of lightning which covered Chu Feng’s right flank.
The fox let out an ear-piercing howl as his forehead began to glow. It utilized large amounts of spiritual energy to release a violent psychic attack on Chu Feng, interfering with his combat ability.
This animal was similar to the weasels in many ways. They not only had the same nickname of great immortal and liked to cause mischief and do evil, but were also inherently adept at using spiritual energy.
"Kill!"
A glowing sparrow hawk suddenly dived down from above while a rodent burrowed out from below.
…
Within that single moment, all the kings in the area made their move. They attacked as a group and used their most powerful moves to kill Chu Feng.
They wouldn’t give him any opportunity to retaliate—they couldn’t afford to.
With so many people attacking him, it would certainly be suicide if he wanted to fight head on. He only had one diamond chakram—who would he shoot it at? The moment he lost his powerful weapon would be the time of his inevitable death.
There were too many king level entities attacking a single person—it was so crowded that they couldn’t even move freely—some of them had occupied a vantage point and were preparing to launch a second wave of attacks.
Thump!
At the critical juncture, Chu Feng spun sharply like a top, his feet shattering the earth while his flying knife digging into the soil. In that manner, Chu Feng dove deep into the earth at lightning speed.
Pfft!
Blood splashed as a miserable cry came through from underground.
An eight-meter long mountain rat, as stout as an elephant and brandishing a mouthful of sharp white teeth, wanted to attack Chu Feng from below but instead had his skull pierced through by the flying knife.
Boom!
The earth and rocks split apart as Chu Feng built an underground cavern with great speed. He hoped to escape from under the ground.
In any case, he had escaped the worst attack.
The gigantic rock that the ferocious ape had hurled at Chu Feng fell, instead, into the underground cavern and onto the mountain rat.
The sword beam from the Golden Condor King’s lustrous longsword tore through the air and struck Chu Feng’s afterimage.
As for all the others, none of them were able to hit their mark.
"Chu Feng you can’t escape!" someone roared.
Boom!
A loud explosion came from under the ground. Someone had actually carried a laser weapon to dive into the ground in an attempt to deal Chu Feng the fatal blow, collapsing the earth in the process.
The mountainous land was blown apart as Chu Feng tore apart the earth to appear once more on the surface.
Thump!
It was the most difficult to defend against lightning. The fully armored human once again shot out a beam of lightning which struck Chu Feng, causing him to stagger back. His shoulder had been charred black and was dripping with blood.
"Demon King Chu, it’s time for you to die!" The ferocious ape’s paws were burning with black flames as he swatted down towards Chu Feng.
"Kill!"
Chu Feng immediately stabilized himself as he landed and once again leapt upwards. He fully activated the golden chakram in his right hand and threw it at the incoming giant ape palm.
At this moment, all the beast kings were on high alert and the armored human king was also staring fixedly at the chakram. Everyone was ready to snatch the weapon the moment it was thrown out.
Only the giant black ape was somewhat frantic. He wanted to dodge to the side but everything had happened so fast that he wasn’t even able to retrieve his hand which had arrived in front of Chu Feng.
The diamond chakram was activated only after Chu Feng had leapt up and as the giant ape paw was fast approaching. He let go at that very last moment and the chakram shot out towards the ape’s hand at supersonic speeds.
The diamond chakram momentarily seemed even more brilliant than the sun. With the swift injection of raging energy, it suddenly became extremely terrifying.
Moreover, the attack was shot downwards from the air and not towards the distance.
Pfft!
Blood spurted out in all directions as the spinning diamond chakram tore apart the ape’s hand and ground it into a blurry mess of flesh and bones. His white bones were revealed as half his arm fell apart; blood flowed like a small waterfall and dyed the forest red.
"Ahh…" it cried in misery and staggered several steps back. A giant ape king with five severed shackles had been gravely injured with just a single hit.
Boom!
The diamond chakram drilled into the ground and was soon slowed down by the rocks and gravel in addition to the resistance previously offered by the ape’s hand. It only went a few hundred meters into the earth before eventually stopping.
With a swoosh, Chu Feng utilized his spiritual energy to return the weapon to his hand.
At almost the very same moment, Chu Feng rapidly moved towards the side and evaded the Golden Condor King’s lustrous longsword, while the scarlet sword also shot out towards the sky in pursuit of the sparrow hawk.
The sparrow hawk, with a sharp glint in its eyes, dived down from the skies and reached out with its claws in an attempt to clutch Chu Feng’s skull. However, it suddenly felt terrified and all its hair stood on end.
It abruptly changed its trajectory to try and avoid Chu Feng’s flying knife.
Pfft!
But alas it was too late! The flying knife pierced through its chest like a scarlet flood dragon and ground its heart into pieces.
With a plop, the Sparrowhawk King fell from the skies and became a corpse. This was Chu Feng’s second kill in this struggle for life.
Boom!
Chu Feng activated the seed—the Great Dao Treasured Bottle—which belched out resplendent sword radiance numbering in the hundreds. It suddenly bombarded the Golden Condor King.
Clang! Clang! Clang…
The Golden Condor King parried with his radiant longsword, sending sparks flying in all directions.
All of these happened as fast as a lightning strike, a dazzling scene to its beholders.
Chu Feng, having experienced hundreds of battles to date, possessed amazing reflexes and the ability to grasp opportunities in combat. He was thus able to badly wound his assailants.
However, with so many enemies surrounding him, he was still in grave danger despite gaining the momentary upper hand, and at this time, lightning flashed once again as the thunderbolt from the human king’s purple hammer found its mark.
Thump!
Suddenly, the pangolin hiding among the bushes leapt up and crashed into Chu Feng’s body, sending him flying with blood flowing out of his mouth.
"Meow!"
The lynx with four severed shackles ferociously cried and slashed towards Chu Feng with its razor-sharp claws. The attack almost enveloped Chu Feng, threatening to tear him apart.
Chu Feng raised his left hand and activated the lightning talisman. The Demon Subduing Technique ripped through the lynx’s great claws and turned it into a bloody mess. The limb had been charred black and the smell of burnt flesh permeated the air.
The lynx miserably cried and leapt away, landing on and flattening a small part of the forest.
At that time, Chu Feng had turned his attention towards the human king with the violet hammer. His eyes turned frosty as he flashed towards this human enemy who had attacked and injured him several times.
Boom!
He raised his left hand, firing off the intersecting arcs of lightning—the terrifying Demon Subduing Technique. It was, after all, formed from lightning and possessed unrivaled speed.
Thump!
The armored man wasn’t able to dodge in time and was struck flying with blood spurting out of his nose and mouth.
But it had to be mentioned that the purple hammer in his hand was quite an astonishing weapon. It quickly absorbed the lightning arcs on his body and alleviated his suffering.
"What humiliation! We, as a large group, are being threatened by a single man. Let’s kill him together!" the black ape roared in anger.
He had suffered badly after losing a palm and was already fully enraged.
"That’s right. Although we’re of the same human race, we simply can’t put up with him any longer. Kill him together!" The man with the purple hammer encouraged the mob, joined by the other humans on his side.
"Kill!"
The Golden Condor King roared as he charged, longsword in hand.
…
Suddenly, all the kings excitedly charged at Chu Feng to finish him off.
Chu Feng was furious. It was natural for the beast race to join hands, but even the humans wanted to surround and kill him. Although he couldn’t see through their identity, they were, no doubt, related to the great corporations.
He growled and raised his head. Momentarily, his eyes shone with the brilliance of the sun as if there was a great flame burning within. The radiance seemed to illuminate the whole of these mountainous woods.
"Since you are all looking to die, I’ll fulfill your wishes!"
At this moment, he had no choice but to utilize his full strength. Within that single moment, all of the wounds on his body ruptured once again.
It was especially true for the wound on his heart. He turned pale from the piercing pain which assaulted his senses.
With a swoosh, his speed was raised to an unimaginable degree.
"Speaking like a madman. Die!" the black ape madly screamed. He believed Chu Feng to be an arrow at the end of its flight and that only the diamond chakram in his hand was a cause for fear. If not for that weapon, he would have long since killed the latter.
However, almost immediately, his pupils constricted involuntarily in terror. Chu Feng was charging at him with strides that took him tens of meters with every movement before exchanging palm blows.
Chu Feng, at that moment, had merged the demon ox and demon flood dragon fists together. His fists were radiating intense brilliance and surging with explosive might.
Moreover, he had completely thrown caution to the wind and released all forms of restraint. He would kill everyone here regardless of the price.
Pfft!
Chu Feng pierced through the Black Ape King’s giant palm and landed on his body before leaping up and smashing down at its head.
"Ah…"
The Black Ape King evaded and spat out black flames in an attempt to burn Chu Feng.
Chi!
Chu Feng moved himself with spiritual energy and abruptly changed his trajectory mid-air before flinging himself onto the enemy.
Thump!
His fist landed on the black ape’s skull, causing it to burst into a blooming sanguineous flower.
At the same time, Chu Feng coughed up a mouthful of blood as his chest was strained by the intense pain. The excavated wound from his chest appeared once again as he weakly dropped to the ground.
"Meow!"
The lynx loudly cried. It pounced towards Chu Feng after seeing its opportunity.
Humph!
With a cold snort, Chu Feng’s pupils began to glow brightly—the scarlet flying knife shot straight into the lynx’s mouth and ground its head into a hazy mince.
The cat miserably cried while shaking its head in misery.
Chu Feng landed upon its head with the activated divine feet. The force behind it was enough to flatten a mountain, much less a mere cat.
All the intimidated king level entities felt their hair stand on end. Everyone could see that Chu Feng was a spent force but he had killed yet another two powerful king level experts.
Swoosh!
As the group attacked in unison, Chu Feng stuck close to the ground and shot towards the man he suspected was from the Lei Zhenzi.
Thump! Thump! Thump…
All the king level entities made their move at the same time. Several beams of light struck his body, eliciting a muffled groan from the increasingly wounded Chu Feng.
However, he had fixed his sight upon the armored man and soon reached him. He attacked unceasingly and with full force, ignoring a certain monkey’s punch from behind and another slash to his ribs from a fox.
Lightning surged out explosively as the man activated his violet hammer to blast the incoming assailant.
Chu Feng also released lightning bolts. An acute explosion took place in their midst.
Thump!
In the end, Chu Feng’s wounded body was crackling with electricity but he had also punched through that man’s body and sent him flying.
Pfft!
At the same time, Chu Feng’s flying knife slashed an arm off of the man; he had unfortunately missed the head.
Swoosh!
The human king possessed strong vitality and was swift to react. He leapt away from Chu Feng the moment he could.
The king level experts nearby all attacked at that moment. One of them even fired off a laser cannon which forced Chu Feng back.
"He’s done for! His life force is waning. Kill him now!" the mob roared.
Beast and human kings alike resumed their frantic attacks.
