Chapter 660: Cruel and Unscrupulous

Her quick and slick response made Chu Feng hesitate instead. Originally he had wanted to haggle with her over the price and “negotiate” with her by using all his might to trick her.

In the end, she had immediately agreed to it.

“What? On the contrary, my straightforward answer makes you uncomfortable?” The young woman said with a light smile, “I’m hopelessly optimistic and it’ll be better if you can help me return to the yang world. If it’s simply out of the question then I’ll be at the end of my ropes. But you won’t be able to escape my grasp if you fail to fulfill the promise!”

Chu Feng stared at her. He seriously doubted that she would tamper with her own body. He had absorbed quite a lot of her yang qi, but surely she hadn’t targeted his functional qi?

However, he couldn’t be fussing over such minor matters when facing a powerful enemy. That wasn’t the kind of person he was and he didn’t do things like that. He blinked his eyes. Even if he wanted to haggle over it, it would have to wait till later.

Lady Xi got the sense that he wasn’t a good person given his expression and said, “Your demonic eyes are rolling incessantly. Whichever way you look at it, you look like a mean-spirited individual. It’s most likely you’ll perish in the future, and you’ll meet a bad ending if you don’t fulfill your promises.”

“Young woman, you’re overthinking!” Chu Feng disagreed, his words full of righteousness.

They didn’t say anything more after that. They gazed at the screen attentively, watching the others’ motions.

The Nine Yin Sparrow, Yuwen Chenkong, and Wei Tiansheng walked ahead with two more quasi-saints behind them who were reinforcements the Nine Yin Sparrow had found.

The five experts were all either saints or quasi-saints. How could one not be fearful of them? If it were average evolvers who had caught sight of them that kind of oppression would’ve stifled them!

Mountains and rivers shook with the emergence of saints. Though it was a restricted area for life here, those mountains and their great dark peaks swayed gently. The sight was daunting.

Dark clouds rose from the black earth, resembling a limitless hell and it was as if they had arrived at the god of the underworld’s residence.

However, the situation changed when they went deeper within. The black mountains and earth quietened and even the saints couldn’t shake up the place in the slightest, which just showed how terrifying this place was.

“We can’t go any further. It’s very dangerous up ahead and there have been lots of incidents where saints have died!” the Nine Yin Sparrow warned.

Even if the greatest heaven-defying experts were to enter the deepest parts of the Nine Netherworlds, they always did so with no way of coming back and so no one knew what went on inside.

Furthermore, all sorts of tragedies fell upon saints who entered areas just off from the center. Some died tragically with just a pool of pus and blood remaining. Some were left with half of their bodies as if a ferocious animal had eaten the other half, while some became insane after a nervous breakdown and never recovered. Each met a different ending.

At last, they came to a stop at a wide open area where there were a couple of altars. This was a sacred training area belonging to the Yin Sparrow Race.

Here the entire ground was glistening as a black glow rose. It was as if a hellish fire was burning throughout, exuding a frightening aura. Even saints couldn’t help but shiver upon arriving here.

One could say that the chilling air here, which was extremely horrifying, could directly freeze a golden-arhat expert to death!

Perhaps one shouldn’t say freeze to death. Instead, they were killed by the Nine Netherworlds Qi, which was a peculiar black energy.

Usually, quasi-saints wouldn’t come here willingly, but today, the Nine Yin Sparrow had high hopes. He didn’t want to resume cultivating as a quasi-saint; in fact, he wanted to take the opportunity of Uncle Ming’s origin to advance further into the domain of real saints.

“Old fellow, you were rather ferocious in the distant battles. You killed saints from my race, the Yin Sparrow race, and slaughtered the vice-captain of our legion of heavenly knights. Who’d could’ve thought that today you’d fall into my hands!”

The Nine Yin Sparrow took out a jar and held it in his palm. He wore a shady smile.

In the distance, Chu Feng’s entire body stiffened when he caught sight of the jar the Nine Yin Sparrow had taken out. It was like he was solidified there and didn’t move a muscle as a look of awe flashed in his eyes.

What was that? He recognized it immediately. Back then, Wei Heng proceeded toward the earth while holding that jar. He had threatened Yaoyao and looked down on all of the evolvers on earth. His rampant yet gentle style there left a rather profound impression on everyone else.

Uncle Ming was sealed within this jar!

Then Chu Feng’s breathing quickened and his chest moved up and down violently. Seeing the jar here he found it hard to control himself. What did they want to do?

In a flash, Chu Feng became sure that this was the vessel in which Uncle Ming was sealed within. There was no way he could be wrong. Furthermore, there was someone there that looked exactly like Wei Heng, and this was basically further confirmation.

Chu Feng was slightly moved. He cried out in his heart that he must rescue Uncle Ming. This was once a great worry of his and there used to be a time where he couldn’t stand recalling it.

“You seem to care a lot about that jar. What’s in it?” Lady Xi asked inquisitively.

“There’s an old man inside there. He had been very kind to me once, but was wronged by a cruel and unscrupulous man!” Chu Feng fumed with rage between his teeth.

Uncle Ming had found him a nest of star core turtle eggs. This allowed him to build a deep foundation for his evolution, but in the end, they ended up with a fatal calamity when Wei Heng discovered him.

Chu Feng was quite anxious and had constantly been thinking of saving him.

He restrained the impulse of doing so and stared at the screen. His eyes were ice-cold like the blade of a knife and he was itching to kill those people.

A black glow danced around this area of the altar grounds. There were Nine Netherworlds Stones on the ground, which looked like the edge of hell. That strange black energy weaved together as the light torrented on.

It was as if the Nine Yin Sparrow, Yuwen Chenkong, and so on were demons walking out from hell. They walked out from the black energy, bathed in the brilliance, while each wore a chilling expression.

They were sizing up the land and considering how they could arrange two special altars. Thus, they could extract Uncle Ming’s origin and transfer it onto the Nine Yin Sparrow’s body.

“Don’t open the jar’s seal, otherwise, that old staunch fellow will bound to perform self-destruction using some kind of unusual method,” Wei Tiansheng warned.

Uncle Ming was his father’s awakening instructor and could be considered as his grandmaster. Yet he didn’t show any respect at all. He had a demeanor even colder and merciless than his father.

As a matter of fact, the Nine Yin Sparrow had only taken out the jar out of excitement. Having had a quick look he readily placed it away to avoid accidents occurring.

This made the faraway Chu Feng anxious yet helpless. It would be very difficult to rescue Uncle Ming if the other side didn’t bring the jar out.

The Nine Yin Sparrow performed the job himself and constructed the altar he required. He carried a blueprint he had taken from his race’s treasury on him. Using this marvelous altar, he was going to seize the other person’s origin and make it his own.

The Yin Sparrow Race had collected, accumulated and piled up the Nine Netherworld Stones here.

Soon, the two altars began to take form. They were connected and transmitted a faint black glow, making the area increasingly more eerie as spooky energy pervaded throughout.

Chu Feng grew tense and pressing on the airship. He was discussing with Xi about how to launch a deathly attack on the individuals and safely snatch the jar to save Uncle Ming’s life.

He could simply be rougher if he was only attacking the enemy and there would be no need for a more humane approach. But saving someone from the hands of saints was incredibly troublesome.

“You possess the Heavenly Umbrella and other weapons that can kill saints, but don’t you have any special treasures? For example, the Zhijin calabash or the suet jade bottle could discreetly take the jar.”

“You really think there’s nothing I can’t do. The Zhijin calabash and the suet jade bottle are famous treasures controlled by the almighty beings in the yang world. How could I possibly have them? My grandfather did, however, fiddle with them before, though he couldn’t avoid returning them in the end.”

Chu Feng frowned. He took out his spatial bottle, of which he had seized from the Black Dragon’s Third Prince in the Southern Sea. It looked like the suet jade bottle and had accompanied him all this time.

Furthermore, this bottle was rather mysterious. Like the four Dragon Locking Pillars, its seals had been broken many times and it had continuously grown stronger.

Lady Xi said, “This looks quite similar to the suet jade bottle, but it probably isn’t. It has a ghastly demonic qi and lacks divine character.”

Then she waved her hand and said, “How about this? I’ll snatch it with the Three-Leaf Lotus. Maybe it can steal it back.”

A leaf appeared in the hollow of her palm. It was green and luscious, and even carried a trace of primal chaotic mist. Of course, its yang energy was so intense that Chu Feng found it unbearable. He felt as though he was facing a great holy furnace.

“What is this?” Chu Feng was indefinitely bewildered.

“Dao gives birth to one. One gives birth to two, two to three and three to all living things. This is the Three-Leaf Lotus. Its significance is similar to Daoism as it only develops three leaves in its lifetime. The supposed fourth leaf appears when it returns to the primal chaos and becomes the source for all living things.”

“It’s that heaven-defying?” Chu Feng was amazed.

Lady Xi, with an air of complacency, said, “It’s so-so. What’s truly heaven-defying is the lotus in the primal chaos pond and it’s truly an ultimate thing. My three-leaf lotus can only be considered as its apprentice, its descendant. It’s an innate object. ”

Chu Feng, being rather insensitive, didn’t compliment her. Instead, he said, “Your grandfather really wasted valuable resources and natural resources recklessly. Didn’t he destroy the growth of the innately divine plant when he took the leaf from the Three-Leaf Lotus and gave it to you?”

“Do you still want to rescue him?” Lady Xi clenched her teeth.

“Are you sure it works?” Chu Feng asked solemnly. He needed to guarantee there would be no problems and that Uncle Ming could definitely be rescued. If any mishaps happened in the process, he would be regretful for life.

Lady Xi replied, “It’s not often there are issues. The Three-Leaf Lotus possesses a mysterious force and can seize all kinds of things, including secret treasures in the hands of others.”

Then she too became serious. She interrogated Chu Feng on the relationships and grudges Uncle Ming had with these people, as well as these people’s backgrounds.

“They should be damned. Uncle Ming is a venerable old man, yet in the end, the child he had once taught beheaded him and marinated him in that jar. Such actions make my blood boil and I can’t wait to kill that Wei Heng!”

Chu Feng went through everything more or less with his fists clenched as he spoke. There was a slight redness in his eyes. He had pity on Uncle Ming for his encounter with Wei Heng, and the heartache he felt for him was greater than physical pain.

After understanding everything, Lady Xi even grabbed Chu Feng’s photon computer and searched on it for information regarding the Nine Yin Sparrow, Wei Heng, and Yuwen Chenkong.

Finally, she couldn’t help but grind her teeth and say, “How could there be something so cruel and unscrupulous in the world! Slaughtering one’s awakening instructor and curing him using salt in a jar, are they even human? I’m definitely going to help you and I vow to destroy them!”

In the distance, they had already finished constructing the two altars and connected them together. After making particular and meticulous adjustments, the two daises were so black they shone and the Qi of the Nine Netherworlds didn’t diffuse as it was so rich.

The two black altars were completely covered with twinkling mysterious marks. These were densely-packed and the area looked terrifying.

Uncle Ming was to be placed on one of the altars, while the Nine Yin Sparrow would be sat on the other. When the moment comes, Uncle Ming’s origin would be frantically absorbed and passed to the nine Yin Sparrow.

“Hehe…”

At this moment, the Nine Yin Sparrow chuckled and took out the jar. This time, he also directly opened the seal, exposing the grizzled head inside. It was covered with bloodstains.

“Old bastard, you used to be so vicious back then. Had you ever thought there’d be a day where you’d end up in my hands? Today, I’ll use your life to help me succeed!” The Nine Yin Sparrow cackled jauntily.

On the airship, Chu Feng almost stopped breathing. The Yin Sparrow had finally produced the jar. The crucial moment was here. Whether or not they could rescue Uncle Ming, it all ends here!

At the side, Wei Tiansheng put on a gentle smile and said, “Grandmaster, my father didn’t have the time to come as he’s attacking the heaven-illuminating realm. As your descendant, I’ve been expecting your arrival. In a moment, I’ll see you off and wish you a peaceful passing.”
