The Seven Sisters and Their Hidden King-Chapter 160: The Regretful and Hateful Zoey Redman
Chapter 160 - 160: The Regretful and Hateful Zoey Redman
Inside the Feazer Medical Clinic, John continued his work with Holbrook Davis, carefully explaining a new treatment method to him. As they were deep in conversation, John's eyes flickered briefly to the entrance, where Bob Redman and his group approached.
John had already predicted why they were returning and remained unflustered, displaying his usual calm demeanor. Holbrook, on the other hand, could barely contain his rising fury.
"These damn flies again?!" Holbrook muttered under his breath. His fury was palpable. "I'll chase them off myself!"
Holbrook was a man of vengeance, especially when it came to anyone who dared to disrespect his teacher, John. He had already marked Bob Redman and his companion with disdain. But now, they had the nerve to return, and this time, they brought backup—an elderly man in a wheelchair.
Who did they think they were fooling? Who did they think they could scare with an old man?
Holbrook was ready to confront them head-on, broom in hand, when the unexpected happened.
Thwack!
The elderly man—none other than Zoey Redman, the patriarch of the Redman clan—struck Bob Redman's leg with a cane.
"Kneel!" Zoey commanded.

Plop!
Without a word, Bob fell to his knees, stunned by the sudden turn of events.
Holbrook froze mid-step. Wait, what was happening here?
The situation had completely turned on its head. The man they had once viewed with disdain was now the one being respected. Was this an apology?
Hadn't these men come here before, full of arrogance and pride? They had come to demand respect. Now, they were kneeling?
Holbrook's thoughts raced, but before he could voice his confusion, Zoey Redman spoke, bowing respectfully toward him. "Sir, I sincerely apologize. My grandson behaved disgracefully. I've scolded him thoroughly. Today, I brought him here to beg forgiveness."
Although Zoey was over a decade younger than Holbrook, calling him "sir" wasn't inappropriate considering the circumstances. He had been briefed by Mason White that Holbrook was no ordinary doctor. The fact that he was the student of a Heaven Master meant he deserved the utmost respect.
Holbrook huffed, his anger still simmering. "It's not me you should apologize to. Apologize to my teacher!"
Just then, John emerged from the clinic, his demeanor calm as ever. He surveyed the scene with a composed gaze. Seeing him, Zoey's heart skipped a beat.
So young!
Although Mason had told him John was in his twenties, seeing it in person was something else entirely.
How could someone so young possess the aura of a Heaven Master? It was almost unbelievable. But now, standing before John, Zoey didn't doubt it for a second.
Zoey quickly lowered his head, demonstrating his utmost respect. "Doctor Lopez, my apologies once again. My grandson was rude. We deeply regret our actions."
They stayed kneeling.
John, meanwhile, didn't immediately respond. He glanced over at the group with quiet authority, as though not needing to speak to have his presence felt.
After a few moments, John spoke, his tone unfazed. "Get up. Don't block the entrance."
"Thank you, Master!" Zoey exclaimed, immediately using his cane to strike Bob Redman again as a form of punishment.
"Thank you, Master! Thank you!" Bob echoed, his voice trembling.
John's brow furrowed slightly at the excessive gratitude. "My surname is Lopez," he reminded Zoey.
Zoey nodded immediately, realizing his error, and corrected himself. "Doctor Lopez, thank you for your broad-mindedness. On behalf of the Redman clan, I thank you."
John said nothing further, turning back to his duties.
Patients continued to flow in and out of the clinic, and John was fully immersed in his work, helping Holbrook prepare medicine. For complex cases, he took the reins personally, solving them with ease.
Meanwhile, Zoey and the Redman group didn't leave. They remained outside, watching intently as John treated a patient with partial facial paralysis. After just a few minutes, the patient's symptoms visibly improved.
Zoey's heart raced. Facial paralysis was a nerve issue, much like his leg injury.
If John could treat that, then surely he could help him as well.
Frustration gnawed at Zoey's insides. If only he hadn't ignored the rumors. If only he had come sooner.
Now, it was too late. He could only feel regret and anger swirling in his chest.
He glared at Bob Redman, fury welling up inside him. "It's all your fault!"
Bob didn't dare speak, cowering beneath his grandfather's gaze.
Zoey's regret was overwhelming. He clenched his fists, but instead of scolding Bob further, he steeled himself. It wasn't Bob's fault alone. He had allowed his own pride and arrogance to cloud his judgment.
Finally, when all the patients had left and the clinic was quiet, Zoey couldn't hold back any longer.
He pushed himself out of the wheelchair, an action that caused a stir among those around him. His body trembled with effort, but he was determined. No one dared to stop him as he hobbled over to John with a cane, every step filled with effort and dignity.
"Doctor Lopez, I apologize once again for my grandson's rudeness. I sincerely beg your forgiveness," Zoey said, bowing deeply.
John remained silent, his gaze calm as ever, taking in Zoey's actions.
Zoey, with his head lowered, waited.
John's eyes flickered down to Zoey's leg, where a noticeable limp was present.
John's voice was measured, calm as always. "You want me to treat your leg, don't you?"
Zoey, hearing the unspoken promise in John's words, didn't raise his head. He remained on his knees, not daring to move, waiting for John's decision.
John's gaze softened ever so slightly as he regarded the old man before him. Though Zoey had come with arrogance and pride, now, he was humble—a lesson learned, the hard way.
The power dynamics had shifted, and now it was Zoey who was the supplicant, awaiting the doctor's decision.
