The Smiling Death-Chapter 351: Everyday Life In Village
BOOM!
Clank!
Clank!
Steel met steel, the sound of metal clashing against each other flowing through the surrounding forest.
Two figures moved in the open space of the forest.
One was a man with chestnut-colored hair, his eyes a sharp shade of blue. In his hand was a sword.
Opposite him stood another young man with dark black hair, as if painted by darkness itself. His eyes matched his hair, but in a darker shade. As if they were two black voids.
He held a sword in his right hand while a hatchet rested in his left.
The two rushed toward each other again.
Clank!
Their blades collided once more, sparks bursting from the impact. Amon twisted his wrist and pushed forward, forcing Julian to slide a step back across the dirt. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"You are really strong, Amon!" Julian exclaimed as his sword met Amon’s once more.
Clank!
Amon spun his hatchet upward, deflecting another strike before stepping to the side.
"Of course I am," Amon replied with a confident smile. "Who do you think I fought every morning for the last three months?"
Yes, it had been three months since talking with Roland about those mysterious towers. For the last three months, nothing significant had happened. Every day had passed like usual.
Getting stronger, sparring with Scarlett, spending time with Julian and others.
Also flirting with his dear Scarlett.
Currently, he was sparring with Julian. They occasionally fought against each other. Not only him, but Ethan, Katherine, and a few other youngsters as well.
Right now, they were also watching this fight.
Clank!
Julian lunged forward with a quick thrust. Amon tilted his head slightly, the blade passing just beside his cheek.
Before Julian could pull back.
Clang!
Amon’s hatchet struck the side of Julian’s sword, pushing it away. Immediately, his own blade swept upward in a rising arc.
Julian jumped back just in time.
Dust scattered under their feet as they circled each other again.
Amon lunged back a few meters from Julian.
Holding his sword on the right side, he wrapped it with shadow formed by mana.
Darkness gathered around the blade like living mist.
The watching group fell silent.

As he swung his sword horizontally, a wide dark crescent arc of sharp shadow shot toward Julian. It tore through the air cleanly, the ground beneath it cracking slightly from the pressure.
Julian’s eyes widened.
He lifted his sword as wind wrapped around his blade. The air trembled around him.
He raised the sword vertically. The wind compressed tightly around the blade, making it far sharper.
The sword came down in a vertical slash to cut down the incoming attack.
BOOM!
The wind blade met the darkness. The collision exploded with force. Leaves shook on nearby trees.
But unfortunately, Julian could not cut it down.
"Ahhhh!" he screamed while trying to force the slash. His grip on the sword tightened until his knuckles turned white.
The wind around his blade trembled violently.
But he failed.
The dark crescent pushed through his defense.
Julian was thrown back by the force of the dark slash.
He flew through the air and collided against a tree before falling to the ground with a thud.
The dark slash already disappeared in the air.
Silence followed.
Amon lowered his sword slowly and looked calmly at him.
"It seems I won again."
He walked toward Julian and extended his hand to pull him up.
Julian grabbed his hand and slowly got up on his feet.
"Yeah... you won again," Julian said while brushing dust from his clothes. "You are really strong despite us being at the same level."
Amon rubbed the back of his neck, smiling widely at the praise.
"Haha! Now I’m not that amazing. It’s all because I got experience fighting real enemies. Also getting beaten by Scarlett each day."
"You sure like getting compliments." Another voice came from behind. It was Katherine. Beside her stood Ethan and another boy named Oliver.
"Of course I do," Amon replied proudly. "I am not used to compliments after all. So I get happy easily."
"Yeah, sure," Ethan said with a smirk.
"By the way, Julian, are you okay?" Oliver asked, looking concerned.
Julian nodded lightly. "Yes. I am good. Just a few bruises on my back."
"Then visit Silvan after this," Amon advised.
The group started walking toward the village. But before leaving the area, Amon glanced toward one particular tree.
"My vampire! Why are you not coming? Let’s go!" Amon shouted while looking at that tree.
His friends were now used to his antics. Only he had the guts to call that woman his vampire so openly.
Something dashed from the tree.
In the blink of an eye, Scarlett appeared in front of Amon.
"Ewhh!" he screamed weirdly at her sudden appearance.
Her hand immediately came down on his head like usual, hitting him lightly.
"How many times should I tell you not to call me ’my vampire’?" she said with cold eyes.
But she knew this was useless. She had said the same thing too many times throughout the three months. Even beating him during morning spars had not stopped him. Yet he never listened to her.
"Hehe~ I will try to behave next time." Amon lied.
"I heard this line so many times." And she knew it.
She sighed.
"Let’s go now. I am hungry," Ethan said with a grin, clearly enjoying the scene.
The group finally left.
Amon and Scarlett remained behind.
"Hehe... I fought well, didn’t I?" Amon asked her sheepishly.
Scarlett crossed her arms and looked at him for a moment before replying.
"Well... you were not bad."
Amon stared at her side profile for a second.
The dull light filtered through the trees, yet it reflecting faintly on her striking crimson hair. Then he leaned closer to her ear.
"Want to drink my blood?" he whispered lightly in her ear, his warm breath tickling against it.
Scarlett instantly pulled her head away from him, covering her ear with one hand. A pink shade had already formed on the tips of her ears.
"Don’t do that," she said quickly. "Also why out of nowhere?" Her heart had skipped for a moment when he leaned so close.
Amon simply smiled mischievously. "Just asked... I thought you might need it."
Scarlett’s eyes unconsciously drifted to his neck for a moment. The faint pulse there was visible. She stared for a second longer than she intended. Then she quickly shook her head.
"Do you like getting bitten?" she asked suspiciously. She was questioning his fetish now.
Amon grinned shamelessly. "Yes... I love it."
He leaned slightly closer again. "But only by you."
