Chapter 375: Fight For Escape!

On the eastern side.

The towering black structure loomed before them like an omen of death.

Up close, it felt even more oppressive.

The spiral tower stretched high into the gray sky, its surface dark and uneven, as if it had been twisted into existence rather than built. At its base stood a massive metal door.

Ancient runes were carved all over it. They glowed faintly in a deep crimson hue, pulsing like a heartbeat.

But the door remained tightly shut.

Amon stood at a distance, his sharp gaze fixed on it.

No one dared to step closer.

Ethan, looking slightly hesitant but curious, spoke while staring straight ahead.

"By the way... can I ask you something?"

Amon turned to him calmly. "What?"

The beastman boy looked at his friend with a thoughtful expression and asked,

"Well... I just had this thought... if all the monsters were sleeping underground... isn’t it better to... kill them?"

Amon paused, his expression turning slightly serious. "We had thought about that before... but..."

Ethan frowned in confusion. "But what?"

Amon exhaled lightly before answering,

"It was useless. Roland had tried to kill one before... but... his attacks had no effect."

Ethan’s eyes widened slightly in confusion, his wolf-like ears twitching.

"What does that mean? Why no effect?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Amon looked back at the tower and replied,

"It must be related to these towers... we can’t kill them unless the towers appear and the monsters wake up... that’s what Vetaal said when he explained why those monsters can’t be killed in their slumber."

A hint of disappointment appeared on his face. If they could kill those monsters in their sleep... they wouldn’t have to go through all of this.

By now, all four groups already knew about the existence of Vetaal. Only a few villagers didn’t know.

Scarlett, with a sharp and commanding expression, spoke firmly,

"Don’t move."

"Remain at your positions."

Everyone stayed exactly where they were.

Weapons were ready in their hands. Eyes alert. The air around them felt heavy.

Then a faint sound echoed.

...rumble...

It was subtle at first, almost unnoticeable to everyone. But Scarlett picked up that sound. Then the ground beneath their feet began to tremble.

Lightly.

Small stones started to shake and roll across the dirt.

Amon’s expression hardened. "...Something’s coming."

The tremors grew stronger. The earth vibrated more violently with each passing second.

Everyone instinctively looked around.

They turned toward the source.

Behind them. Not too far away, several dark cave entrances could be seen carved into the side of a rocky slope.

Those caves led deep underground. And now... The same caves where monsters were sleeping.

They were trembling.

Amon immediately pulled out his hatchet with his left hand while gripping his sword firmly in his right.

His stance shifted. Balanced and ready.

"What the hell is happening..." someone muttered nervously.

The shaking intensified. Cracks began to spread across the ground near the caves.

Then suddenly the earth split apart.

CRACK!!!

Chunks of soil burst upward as something massive forced its way out from below. A deep, guttural roar echoed from beneath the ground.

And then they appeared. Huge humanoid creatures clawed their way out of the torn earth.

Their skin was pitch black. Their bodies were tall and grotesquely muscular, far larger than any normal human.

Massive black wings extended from their backs, tearing through the dirt as they emerged.

Their glowing eyes scanned the surroundings with hunger.

More of them followed.

Dozens, then more. They crawled out from the cracks in the ground like something out of a nightmare.

At the same time, from the cave entrances. Even more monsters rushed out.The sound of skittering filled the air.

Giant spiders.

Each one larger than a human. Their long, jagged legs stabbed into the ground as they crawled forward at terrifying speed.

Their multiple eyes gleamed darkly.

Their mandibles clicked hungrily. And they weren’t alone. More and more creatures poured out from both the caves and the broken earth.

Hundreds of them. A black tide of monsters. And all of them were moving in one direction. Toward the tower.

Toward Amon and the others. The ground shook violently under the sheer number of creatures marching forward.

Their roars, screeches, and guttural cries echoed across the forest, sending chills down everyone’s spine.

"Monsters!!" someone shouted in panic.

The villagers tightened their grips on their weapons. Fear flickered in many eyes. But no one ran.

They stood their ground.

Amon narrowed his eyes. "Here they come..."

Beside him, Ethan swallowed hard, his greatsword trembling slightly in his hands. But he didn’t step back. Not even a single step.

Scarlett stepped forward. Her expression was cold and unshaken.

Slowly, she raised her hand. A single drop of blood came out of her body. It exploded and expanded.

It gathered, twisted, and condensed. Until a sword formed in her hand. A blade made entirely of blood. It shimmered with a dark red glow, pulsing with energy.

The wind whipped her long crimson hair behind her as she lifted the sword. Then she pointed it straight at the approaching horde.

Her voice rang out across the battlefield.

"Attack!"

A brief pause.

"The true battle has just begun."

"YEAHHHH!!!"

The members of the group roared in response.

The fear in their hearts turned into determination. Weapons were raised.Feet shifted forward. And then they charged.

Amon dashed forward, his sword gleaming as he moved. The ground trembled beneath the collision of two forces.

Humans, beastmen, vampires, elves, demons, werewolves, and monsters. All of them were present here.

On one side, people from different races worked together. To fight against monsters. To bring them down.

To carve a path that led outside. Today, the day was filled with hope and despair.

Finally steel met flesh. Claws met blades. The first clash erupted. And the battlefield descended into chaos.

---

The sky was a dark shade of gray, giving an ominous atmosphere.

But deep inside the forest. Something huge was happening.

The same situation was occurring on the other three sides.

Monsters dashed toward the towers, where groups of villagers were standing to kill them.

Those monsters were meant to protect those four towers.

To not let any person enter inside.

"ATTACK!!"

Battle cries traveled through the forest from all sides.

The sound of spells and steel filled the air. The true battle had finally started.
