The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 156: She’s a Little Timid
The room was a bit stuffy, so Holly opened the window, and a gust of cold wind blew in. She couldn’t help but wrap her coat tighter around herself.
"Cold?"
Leo walked up behind Holly Sawyer, wrapped his arms around her waist, rested his chin on her shoulder, and held her icy little hands.
"Not cold." Holly shook her head. "Being with you is warm."
A sweet smile curved at her lips, and she turned her head to look at Leo with gentle eyes. The cold wind brushed her face, but it seemed to carry a layer of warmth.
Actually, the seasons remain the same, but when I’m with you, even the autumn wind is gentle, the winter snow is gentle.
"Your little face is frozen red."
Leo reached out to close the window and pinched Holly’s cheek.
The young girl’s face was rosy, and her nose was red too.
"Your embrace can fend off the winter’s chill."
Holly turned her head to look at Leo seriously, her tone equally serious.
Every day with Leo, she felt extraordinarily happy, as if the happiness was growing exponentially day by day.
Happiness is probably like this: winter has arrived, but you are as gentle as spring.
"You sure know how to talk."
Leo affectionately scratched Holly’s nose with a smile in his eyes.
"Brother’s thighs are so big; how else can I hold on tight without sweet talk?"
Holly blinked, stuck out her tongue, and half-jokingly said.
Hmm, how should I put it? She really felt like she was clinging to Leo’s thigh now.
Eating Leo’s food, using Leo’s things, and not needing to do anything.
"Brother’s thighs are only for you to hold, others couldn’t manage."
Leo rubbed Holly’s head, his voice gentle.
He looked down, she looked up, their eyes met; in his eyes, she was reflected, and in her eyes, he was contained, the strong sense of love spreading in the room.
After meeting Leo, Holly realized that when you fall in love with someone, your eyes don’t lie because they are filled with him.
"There is an orchard in the south courtyard. Would Holly like to take a look?"
The Grant family mansion is divided into four courtyards: east, west, south, and north. Elder Grant lives in the east courtyard, and Holly now lives in the south courtyard.
The south courtyard has the best scenery and the best location, but it’s also the smallest.
There are good points, but there are bad points too.
Holly’s eyes lit up instantly, "Sure."
Leo: "I’ll take you tomorrow."
It’s already late, and although the courtyard lights were bright, the night wind was even more piercing than during the day.
The young girl was afraid of the cold, and it wasn’t suitable to go out at this time.
Holly nodded, filled with joy.
"Is Holly tired yet?"
Leo glanced at the time and asked Holly, lowering his head.
It’s already past eleven at night, very late.
"Um, a bit."
Holly nodded, even though she had napped for a long time in the afternoon, she still felt a wave of sleepiness.
Leo left after Holly fell asleep, watching the young girl’s sleeping face, a slight smile tugging at his lips.
He also wanted to hold the young girl in his arms and fall asleep hugging her.
——
"Brother, shall we go to the orchard?"
After breakfast, Holly couldn’t wait any longer.
She has always been committed to food, whether it’s fruits, snacks, or anything else; as long as it’s edible, she likes it.
She maximized her gluttonous nature.
"Okay."
Leo chuckled lightly, gently rubbing Holly’s head.
The young girl was so committed to food that he genuinely feared one day she might be lured away by someone with food.
"Young master."
When entering the orchard, the orchard managers saw Leo and greeted him one after another.
"This is my girlfriend, the future young mistress."
Leo held Holly’s hand, introducing her to them.
"Hello, young mistress."
They continued to greet Holly.
Although curious about Holly, they did not ask too much, not everything could be meddled with.
They focused on their duties, and any curiosity would be buried in their hearts, adhering to their responsibilities.
"Brother, I want to eat pomelo."
Holly pointed at the pomelo, holding Leo’s hand, and slowly said.
It was Leo who taught her to act spoiled, taught her to seek him out when she needed something, instead of doing it on her own.
Leo went to pick the pomelo, then asked the orchard manager for a knife, personally peeling the pomelo for Holly.
The orchard managers, seeing Leo and Holly’s interaction, couldn’t help but beam brightly.
Just by looking at these two, you could tell their relationship was excellent.
"Um, I feel like I’ve really become a little useless."
Holly sat on the stone bench watching Leo, she said slowly.
Now she really didn’t have to do anything, really like a little useless girl, but she was particularly happy to be a little useless girl. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"Then that’s perfect; it’s just what I planned."
Leo looked up at Holly, a smile spreading across his lips.
His goal was to turn Holly into a "little useless girl" so that the young girl wouldn’t be able to leave him.
"Brother, you’re so bad."
Holly blinked.
"There are worse things."
Leo’s gaze fell on Holly’s lips, he looked at her ambiguously, his voice gentle.
"What would you like to eat for breakfast?"
It’s still early morning, Leo worried Holly might get hungry.
Holly asked, "Anything?"
The Grant family mansion is far from the hustle and bustle, though it occupies a large area, there aren’t any shops nearby, and to buy street food, you have to drive a long way.
"Anything, the mansion’s cooks can make it."
Leo nodded, seeing Holly’s thoughts clearly.
The Grant family mansion, being so remote, has more than one cook within its premises, and they can basically create anything to meet the mansion’s needs.
Holly: "I want fried dumplings."
"Okay, I’ll have the kitchen make them."
Leo nodded.
The two wandered the orchard for a while, picked some seasonal fruits, and headed towards the east courtyard.
To meet Leo’s grandfather.
"I’m a bit nervous."
Holly held Leo’s hand tightly, biting her lip slightly.
Although she had met Leo’s grandfather before, the nature of this meeting was different; now she was indeed feeling a bit nervous.
"Don’t worry, you’ve met him."
Leo comforted her, his grip on Holly’s hand firm.
He held Holly’s hand with one hand, carrying a basket of fruit with the other.
Elder Grant wasn’t well, and he only ate fruits and vegetables grown within the mansion; even the meat was raised in the mansion.
The west courtyard has a big fishpond, raising many aquatic creatures.
The north courtyard raises chickens, ducks, geese, cattle, and sheep.
The east courtyard has vegetable fields.
The mansion has all kinds of food, satisfying daily needs.
"It’s different; this is meeting the parents."
Holly took a deep breath. Don’t be fooled by her usually decisive nature, but in these matters, she still felt timid.
A bit afraid that Elder Grant wouldn’t like her, wouldn’t like her as the granddaughter-in-law.
Once, she had shown the coldest side of herself in front of Elder Grant.
