The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 215: In High Spirits
"There you go, eating this will make you feel a bit better."
Leo quickly returned with the sweets and placed them in front of Holly Sawyer, speaking gently.
They were all little treats that Holly enjoyed.
The girl would probably feel much better after eating them.
"Thank you, brother."
Holly buried her head in the sweets, quietly, as if turning her sadness into appetite.
Watching Holly eat continuously, Leo chose not to disturb her and began processing some documents nearby.
Suddenly, Holly’s phone rang. Upon seeing the call, she quickly answered it.
Her little face instantly filled with a smile, her expression becoming lively.
"Brother, Diana Curtis is awake."
Holly looked at Leo and said lightly, her voice extremely gentle.
Diana Curtis waking up was truly wonderful.
Her smile that had been drooping suddenly brightened, her face instantly filled with cheerfulness.
The sadness was dispelled by the surprising news; all that remained for Holly was joy.
"It’s good that she’s awake."
Leo smiled, seeing Holly’s radiant smile, and couldn’t help but feel like smiling too.
As long as the girl was happy, he would feel happy too.
"Brother, you should eat some too."
Holly gently presented a small piece of cake to Leo’s lips, her face full of anticipation as she looked at him.
"It’s really sweet."
Following Holly’s hand, Leo swallowed the cake into his stomach.
The cake was sweet but not overpowering, its taste pleasantly sweet and fragrant.
"Brother, I’m going to see Diana Curtis now, and I’ll come find you later."
Holly hugged Leo briefly, kissed him on the cheek, and then dashed away, her whole demeanor spirited.
So lively.
Leo shook his head, watching Holly leave, his mood lightening up too.
If the girl felt good, so did he; it was as if their happiness was intertwined.
——
When Holly arrived at The Pantheon, there were already many people there, who made way for her upon seeing her approach.
"Hello, Boss."
"Hello, Boss."
"Hello, Boss."
The greetings were orderly and loud, giving an impression of prominence.
Their respect for Holly had always been evident.
Diana Curtis was awake, though still lying in bed, with tubes yet to be removed and an oxygen mask on.
Her eyes were open, her face still pale without a trace of color, while Tess Young sat beside her.
"Boss."
Upon seeing Holly, Tess stood up and made space for her, quietly moving to the side.
Holly nodded to Tess.
Diana Curtis moved her lips a bit but made no sound.
Holly guessed Diana might be thinking of greeting her.
"How silly, couldn’t you just dodge instead of fighting, being usually so clever?"
Holly said slowly.
Diana Curtis was too obsessed with fighting, resulting in severe injuries.
In regular circumstances, Diana was lively and particularly sharp, adept at little tricks and thoughts.
Diana just stared at Holly silently.
Speaking would pull at her wounds and cause intense pain; hence, Diana remained mute.
"I’m busy falling in love right now, so I don’t have time to stay with you. Since you’re fine, I’ll be leaving."
"I know you’re quite annoyed now and want to retort, but you can’t right now."
"Alright, take care, I’m going."
Holly stayed only for a short while, then spoke softly before planning to leave.
With so many people attending to Diana, her presence wasn’t crucial, as long as she knew Diana was alright. She wanted to spend some time with Leo instead.
Currently, romance was her top priority, without exception.
Diana Curtis: "..."
Lying in bed, Diana found herself speechless, wishing she could retort, but speaking would make the wound hurt terribly.
Next time, she’d make sure to be more cautious, protecting herself without fail, avoiding injuries.
Being injured was deeply unpleasant; she wanted to curse, but her mouth couldn’t move, wanted to hit something, but couldn’t move.
It was utterly frustrating.
Awake and subjected to various taunts, Diana instantly felt overwhelmed.
After her farewell, Holly left, exposed to strong winds that chilled her, causing her to pull her coat tighter around herself but she still felt cold.
"Silly girl, don’t you know to wear more layers?"
Leo appeared suddenly, placing a large coat over Holly’s shoulders and wrapping a scarf around her, a hint of reprimand in his actions.
Seeing Holly rushing out without a scarf, Leo decided to leave his tasks behind to bring her a scarf.
His little girl was so sensitive to the cold; he certainly had to ensure she wasn’t chilled, taking responsibility for her warmth.
"Oops, forgot."
Holly playfully stuck out her tongue.
With Diana Curtis waking up, the huge burden on her heart lifted, making her feel much better.
"Can’t even take care of yourself."
Leo softly flicked Holly’s forehead, speaking slowly.
"But I have you, brother."
Holly fluttered her eyes, mischievously sticking out her tongue.
With Leo, she could unabashedly play the child, carefree in forgetting many important things, neglecting her own well-being.
Because Leo treated her well, he would remember many things for her, and take good care of her.
She’d heard once that pampered children could be carefree.
She hadn’t understood it then but understood now.
"Yes, brother will definitely take good care of Holly."
Leo smiled, gently rubbing her cheeks.
He absolutely adored Holly’s reliance on him, feeling fulfilled in being needed by her.
"From now on, with me, you only need to be a little girl, not needing to worry about so much."
Leo spoke, his voice tenderly doting.
He hoped Holly would always be his little girl, and he was committed to looking after her lovingly.
Holly nodded: "Okay."
Being pampered was a dream for many girls; she felt incredibly fortunate to have met such a wonderful boy at the perfect time.
Leo Grant, he was the most beautiful scenery she had ever encountered in life, without comparison.
"Brother."
Holly gazed at Leo, suddenly standing on tiptoe to kiss his lips. Leo paused momentarily, then quickly responded, leaning down to embrace her lips.
Their lips pressed tightly together, the moment almost inseparable.
The sunlight, a bit dazzling, shone upon the couple locked in a kiss, casting a golden rim around them.
