The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 224: Pretty Violent
Not drinking makes me feel really uncomfortable inside because I’m already unhappy, and without anything to release, it really makes me feel extremely uneasy inside.
"Have some snacks."
Holly Sawyer pushed a whole plate of snacks in front of Noah Raines, she said slowly.
Drinking can only temporarily alleviate worries, but once you sober up, the worries are still there.
Drowning your sorrows in drink usually makes them worse.
Noah Raines’s eyes were already a bit blurry, he stuffed snacks into his mouth as the dizziness took over his whole being.
Actually, some people don’t usually get drunk easily, but when they have things on their mind, they get drunk very quickly.
It’s bizarre, but it’s true.
Holly has also experienced that feeling, where having things bottled up inside really makes it easy to drink, but when there are many things on her mind, no matter how much she drinks, she won’t get drunk.
"There’s absolutely no way drinking can relieve sorrow."
Holly rolled up her sleeves as she spoke slowly.
Noah Raines remained silent.
Leo Grant and Nathaniel Shaw just watched quietly, without any reaction.
"But waking you up with a hit should work."
Without saying another word, Holly landed a punch right on Noah Raines’s face.
Nathaniel Shaw and Leo Grant were stunned, looking at Holly in disbelief.
Noah Raines was caught off guard, taking the punch directly, his face quickly swelling up red. He was stunned, dumbly looking at Holly.
"Drinking here is fine, but getting drunk is not."
Holly leisurely wiped her hands with a tissue, speaking slowly.
Can’t stand it.
Noah Raines nodded, then leaned back and unbelievably fell asleep.
Nathaniel Shaw: "..."
Leo Grant: "..."
"Drinking is bad for your health."
Holly turned her head, looked at Leo, and said.
Leo nodded.
"I’m sleepy; I’m going to bed now. Good night."
Holly yawned, then lazily stood up and walked upstairs.
Well, let’s just say I’m really quite sleepy.
There’s nothing to do about it, winter really makes one particularly drowsy. Usually, she likes to hang out at the night market, but in winter she moves as little as possible and goes to sleep early.
"Leo, your girlfriend is quite violent."
Watching Holly leave their sight, Nathaniel reached out and grabbed Leo’s wrist, he said slowly.
Indeed, she’s quite violent.
At first, he thought Holly was trying to drink Noah under the table, and didn’t expect her to actually land a punch on him.
Not sure if it’s the punch or the alcohol, but after taking the punch, Noah actually fell asleep.
"Indeed."
Leo nodded.
Holly was never a soft little bunny.
After all, how could the owner of The Pantheon be a merciful person? The answer is obviously no.
"Do you think there’s a chance you might face domestic violence in the future?"
Nathaniel looked at Leo with slight worry and asked slowly.
He seemed to have already conjured up the scenario, looking at Leo with a hint of sympathy.
Leo: "It has nothing to do with you."
Domestic violence?
Probably not.
As long as he doesn’t make her angry, the girl is usually as soft and cute as a marshmallow, shouldn’t be a problem, right?
"Your girlfriend seems as soft and gentle as a marshmallow. I completely forgot who she was."
Nathaniel said slowly.
Yeah, Holly usually seems very nice, soft and gentle, completely lacking any harm. Often, they all automatically overlook Holly’s identity.
"Sometimes I forget too."
Leo stayed silent for a moment.
Indeed, he only knows Holly is his girlfriend, the one he loves, so why would he care about her identity?
——
The next morning, Holly got up very early, and Nathaniel, Leo, and Noah were already eating at the dining table.
Noah rubbed his slightly swollen cheek, constantly looking at himself in a small mirror.
His left and right cheeks were visibly uneven, with the left side clearly swollen, with slightly black marks that were quite noticeable.
"Whoa, did someone hit me last night?"
Noah kept looking in the mirror and kept complaining.
When he woke up early in the morning, he felt his face was particularly sore, and when he looked in the mirror, he found his face was swollen.
Don’t hit people in the face, who the hell dared to hit his face.
"No."
Leo and Nathaniel said in unison, then silently went back to eating.
Of course, they can’t tell him.
"Then what happened to my face? It couldn’t have been me who hit myself, right?"
Noah poked his cheek with his finger; it stung painfully, making him somewhat doubtful.
He was really drunk last night, having no idea what happened, but he figured he couldn’t have hit himself, right?
He wouldn’t do something self-destructive, right?
"Why not?"
Holly leisurely walked over, speaking slowly, her tone casual.
Well, there’s nothing impossible in this world.
"So, did I really hit myself?"
Noah suspiciously glanced at his face in the mirror, inquiring skeptically.
He couldn’t possibly be that dumb, right?
"There are a lot of fools in this world, you’re not the only one."
Leo pulled a chair out for Holly, who sat down and lazily lifted her eyes to glance at Noah, slightly like looking at a fool.
Noah: "..."
Basically saying I’m an idiot?
Nathaniel twitched the corners of his mouth slightly, giving Holly a light glance, internally solidifying one thought.
In the future, whether it’s heartbreak or trouble of any sort, he definitely won’t seek out Leo for drinking.
Otherwise, he couldn’t be sure what kind of injury he might wake up to one morning.
As he thought about it, Nathaniel couldn’t help but rub his face, feeling a bit of a phantom pain.
If it was a hit by Leo, it would be okay, as he could hit back when he woke up, but Holly was different. No matter how fierce she was, she was still a woman, and his buddy’s woman at that.
It would be inappropriate to hit back.
"Next time, be more mindful and drink less. Otherwise, you might hurt yourself even worse, now you’re hitting your own face, who knows where you’ll hit next time."
Holly sipped her milk, speaking slowly, her tone carrying a tinge of sarcasm.
She used to drink too, often getting very drunk, drunk appearances were common too, but she pretty much quit now, barely touching it.
Maybe now she sees her past self in them, which makes her quite averse to people who get utterly drunk.
Noah: "..."
So did he really hit himself?
Noah kept pressing his cheek, in disbelief internally.
He didn’t think he would do such a thing, right?
Leo remained silent throughout. He couldn’t possibly say it was his own girlfriend who hit him, could he?
Of course, not.
Nathaniel also kept his head down eating, avoiding looking at Noah.
He really believes Noah is being a complete idiot, like a big fool.
That he could believe such words, seriously.
