The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 242 You Can Come to Me
Holly Sawyer couldn’t be bothered with Vincent Hughes, thinking he seemed a bit off, not quite right.
Vincent chased after Holly, trying to grab her hand, but was stopped by a particularly strong hand.
"Not just anyone can touch my woman."
Leo Grant forcefully gripped Vincent’s hand, his gaze icy cold.
So cold it was chilling.
"Let go."
Pain shot through his arm, and Vincent’s face twisted in agony.
It hurt like hell.
"Brother, let go, your hand’s getting dirty."
Holly tugged on Leo’s hand, lightly shaking her head at him.
Don’t dirty your hands.
"Okay."
Leo nodded, releasing Vincent’s hand.
"Brother, here."
Holly took out a wet wipe from her pocket, handing it to Leo, indicating for him to wipe his hand.
Don’t dirty your hands, clean them properly.
Leo took the wipe and elegantly cleaned his fingers, slowly.
Vincent was instantly infuriated.
What did that mean?
Was he implying Vincent was dirty?
Dirty?
How was he dirty?
"Please don’t appear in front of me again, thank you."
Holly’s words were still polite, though her voice, while gentle, carried a hint of coldness.
She didn’t like strange people constantly appearing in front of her, had been quite averse to Vincent since school days.
No, it wasn’t Vincent as a person she disliked, but people like Vincent.
What to say about Vincent?
Clearly not noble, yet pretends to be; clearly quite disgusting, yet always feels others are disgusting.
Truly annoying.
"Holly..."
"If you need anything, you can find me. I’m Leo Grant; you’re welcome to visit me at the Grant Group building."
Vincent was about to speak when Leo interrupted him.
Leo’s lips curled slightly, holding Holly’s hand with one and the other tucked in his pocket, speaking coldly.
Sure, if something comes up, just come find him.
Leo Grant?
Grant Group?
Vincent was stunned, looking at Leo incredulously, disbelief filling his eyes.
Was the person before him the legendary Leo Grant?
People in Arkenfall had all somewhat heard of such a person, but had never met him; he was practically a legend.
"Let’s go."
Leo wrapped his arm around Holly’s shoulder, turning to leave, leaving Vincent standing there.
Holly’s boyfriend was Leo Grant?
Holly’s boyfriend was actually Leo Grant???
How could he dare to find Leo? Seeking out Leo was akin to seeking death; how could he dare?
He was starting to regret it, afraid Leo had heard his words, afraid of Leo’s retaliation.
You don’t mess with a big shot’s woman; even a slight offense could leave him in ruins.
He had just crossed the line, would that lead to trouble?
"Boss, are you secretly in love with her?"
The Skinny Guy looked at Vincent in disbelief, incredulity filling his eyes.
Never expected Vincent to fall for Holly; Holly was so intimidating back then, yet Vincent had the guts.
——
Returning home, it was only three o’clock; Holly and the others quickly busied themselves in the kitchen, each taking on a task, working quite efficiently.
Everything in perfect order.
"Phew, mission accomplished."
In just about half an hour, all the dishes were ready; Holly stretched with a big yawn.
Pretty tiring.
New Year celebrations, as they say, are really a labor festival, making people busy.
Maybe that’s because people are too lazy, so this holiday was invented to get them moving after a year.
"Are you tired?"
Leo walked to Holly’s side, giving her shoulders a gentle squeeze, his voice indulgent and gentle.
Having been busy all day, she must be tired; Leo’s shoulder massage was neither too light nor too hard, just right.
"A bit tired."
Holly smiled faintly, her voice steady and calm.
Yes, really a bit tired.
Even got into a little scuffle today.
"Oh, rubbing it in our faces even now."
Nathaniel Shaw helplessly rubbed his forehead, heaving a heavy sigh, utterly exasperated.
Just wanted to rub their happiness in the singleton’s face, huh?
Already tired, now a dose of public displays of affection, he suddenly felt full.
Life, truly difficult.
"Just made the dishes, you’re full, so I guess I can eat more."
Holly lightly blinked, speaking in a matter-of-fact tone.
Nathaniel: "..."
Alright then.
"Too bad my girlfriend’s not here, and now I have to eat dog food."
Noah Raines wore a bitter face, filled with sadness.
Sigh, during the New Year, he had to endure these displays; he did have a girlfriend, yet she wasn’t around at this time.
Ah, Noah truly felt life was too hard for him.
"Hey, hey, hey, shut up, consider us single dogs for a moment, would you?"
Cecilia Bennett rolled her eyes at Noah, her tone slightly helpless.
Really annoyed by those in relationships, always showing off; could they not consider singles like her?
"It’s okay, there are two singles."
Holly said softly, her tone gentle and soft.
Nathaniel: "..."
Cecilia: "..."
My goodness, was that a jab? Right?
Cecilia felt she wanted to punch Holly, to let her know how harsh the world could be.
Laughing and chatting, they left the kitchen, arranging the dishes on the table, signaling the completion of the New Year’s dinner.
"My first time in the kitchen, well, not really, first time helping in the kitchen."
Cecilia looked at the table full of food and suddenly felt a sense of pride, genuinely happy.
Even though she didn’t cook, she helped, so it was quite an achievement.
Looking at the table brimming with dishes, Cecilia felt a deep sense of accomplishment.
"Such is life for a rich girl."
Noah couldn’t help but tease Cecilia.
Holly knows how to cook, yet her best friend Cecilia doesn’t, how ironic.
"Oh, shut up, you slacker young master."
Cecilia quickly expressed her dissatisfaction, firing back at Noah.
Cecilia and Noah knew each other from before, their families slightly connected, but they just couldn’t see eye to eye.
In Cecilia’s eyes, Noah was just a slacker young master.
Noah retorted, "Who’s the slacker you’re talking about?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"I’m talking about you."
Cecilia stated.
The two soon started bickering.
"Alright, alright, I’m not here to listen to you argue."
Holly crossed her hands in front, refusing to listen to Noah and Cecilia’s squabble.
