The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 92: Nancy Miller Is in Trouble
Nancy Miller has disappeared.
She called Holly Sawyer before the incident, but the call was cut off after only a few words, and when Holly called back, it went unanswered.
Holly quickly panicked, hurried upstairs to grab her computer, trying to find traces of Nancy Miller.
Nancy Miller is her sister, someone she cares about.
She called Wendy Wright, subtly asking if Wendy was home alone and what she was doing.
From Wendy’s words, Holly learned that Nancy originally said she was going to Wendy’s home, but now she hasn’t been seen, and her phone can’t be reached. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Nancy Miller is in trouble.
This was Holly’s first reaction.
"Auntie, Nancy is with me. We have some academic issues to discuss, so she won’t be coming over. Her phone’s out of battery, and our chargers aren’t compatible."
Holly spoke casually, her tone sweet.
A well-intentioned lie.
After hanging up on Wendy, Holly’s face turned serious. What on earth has happened to Nancy?
"What’s wrong? Why the hurry?"
Leo Grant walked into Holly’s room, noticing Holly’s worried face and softly asked.
The young girl was visibly anxious. Just moments ago, Holly was downstairs watching TV, but she became agitated after a phone call.
Something must have happened.
In all their time knowing each other, he’d never seen such an expression on Holly’s face.
"Brother, let me calm down by myself, okay?"
Holly looked up at Leo, her hands still working, her voice soft.
"Okay."
Leo stopped asking questions, sitting beside Holly, watching her operate.
Holly’s movements were incredibly fast, her speed astonishing. Leo didn’t understand much, but he could tell Holly was trying to track something.
So, what was Holly looking for?
Searching for someone without any information is like finding a needle in a haystack, very difficult.
Holly was recalling her last call with Nancy, noting the sound of car horns, barely any speaking—it seemed Nancy was on her way home.
So it must be the road near the community. Holly glanced at her phone to check the call time, then accessed surveillance footage from various roads.
Her hand speed was impressive, not even noticing Leo next to her. She was desperate to find Nancy.
The computer screen displayed one road surveillance after another, leaving Leo somewhat stunned.
The young girl’s skills...
Leo suddenly recalled the mysterious deaths of those in black, altered surveillance, the scent of white peach oolong.
It was all Holly’s doing. At that moment, Leo confirmed his suspicion—his little sister is truly not simple.
About two minutes passed, Holly’s eyes showed a hint of a smile, she found the surveillance of Nancy’s abduction.
In the footage, Nancy was walking, occasionally looking back, appearing slightly tense, when suddenly two suited men blocked her path.
Nancy took a step back, looking a bit flustered, then took out her phone to make a call, but the phone was snatched, and she was forcibly taken away.
Because the surveillance had no sound, Holly only saw this, knowing nothing more.
Who took Nancy?
"These are Sean Grant’s men."
Leo lightly furrowed his brow, speaking slowly.
One of them he’d seen before—someone working for Sean.
"Sean? Why would he take Nancy? They shouldn’t know each other."
Holly was stunned for a moment, staring directly at Leo.
"No, it’s because of me."
Quickly, Holly concluded this.
Sean took Nancy because of her.
She cares greatly about those around her, and Nancy has become quite close, essentially her weakness. Sean wants revenge, so he kidnapped Nancy.
"I’ll help you bring her back."
Leo reached out to hold Holly’s hand, speaking slowly.
He could assist with this matter.
"No need, I’ll do it myself."
"I want to know what Sean is planning."
Holly shook her head, her smile turning cold.
All those usual pretenses dropped instantly; Holly was furious, forgetting the need to keep up appearances.
Her mind was solely focused on rescuing Nancy.
Leo was slightly taken aback, staring at Holly, noticing her cold smile and expression opposite to usual, quite surprised.
This might be the young girl’s true self; it’s rather endearing.
"I’ll protect you."
Leo didn’t say anything more.
The young girl should do whatever she wants with confidence; he will always be there to protect her.
Holly quickly dialed Sean’s number, which was answered after three rings as Holly pressed the speaker button.
"Ha, I didn’t expect you to act so fast, much quicker than I imagined."
Sean’s voice came from the other end, contemptuous with a touch of mockery, yet somewhat surprised.
Sean had always known Holly’s capabilities, aware she would learn he took Nancy, Holly could find out quickly.
But indeed, it was quick—less than half an hour, and Holly already knew it was him.
"Where is Nancy?"
Holly didn’t waste words with Sean, getting straight to the point, her voice icy.
"Don’t worry, I won’t harm her. Just want to make a deal with you."
Sean chuckled lightly, his voice carrying pleasure.
What he wanted was Holly. Nancy didn’t hold much value, merely a bait to lure Holly.
As long as someone has a vulnerability, they have a weakness. Attacking through her weakness is best.
"Go ahead."
Holly’s expression instantly turned much colder, her hands clenched tightly.
Ha, quite devious.
Leo remained silent, adhering to Holly’s request not to speak, so he simply sat beside her quietly.
Sean, ha.
This brother, always gentle in Leo’s presence, had yet another face.
"Leave Leo."
Sean said the words simply.
Holly’s identity has always been a mystery, quite capable, and if she remains by Leo’s side, his plans might be disrupted.
Leave Leo.
Just a simple phrase, but it succeeded in unnerving Leo, who stared at Holly.
He feared she would leave him.
He feared hearing words of departure from Holly, even if just casually said, it scared him.
"Except that."
Holly didn’t even consider it before rejecting.
Leave Leo?
Sorry, that’s impossible. What happens later is another matter, but now it’s not an option.
