The Spiteful Bride, Marry to Rival's Son-Chapter 103
I NEED YOU STEFAN
The kiss was different. It was wild. They kissed each other like they had both been starved.
Mia’s fingers curled into Stefan’s shirt, gripping the fabric like she was afraid to fall.... but she already had. A long time ago.
Stefan’s hands moved gently, one holding her waist like she might slip away again, the other rising to cradle the back of her head. Their bodies fit like two pieces of a puzzle that had spent too long apart.
When their lips finally parted, their foreheads touched. They were both breathless.
Mia’s lashes fluttered as her eyes slowly opened. She found his eyes already waiting.... his gaze were intent, burning with questions and answers all at once.... they undid her.
"Mia," Stefan whispered, his thumb brushing against her cheek, "I don’t know what I did... but if I’ve ever hurt you — even without meaning to..... I’m sorry. I beg you. Please forgive me." Her eyes welled up, she blinked the tears away immediately.
She bit her bottom lip, holding herself together. "I saw you," she said quietly. "That night... I saw you. With her."
Stefan blinked, confusion evident in his face. "What...? With who?"
"The woman," she whispered. "At the bar. You were on a bed. The covers... the moaning... it was real, Stefan. I saw it with my own eyes." The room went cold.
Stefan pulled back slightly, stunned. "Wait. What?"
She stepped back, wiping her face quickly. "Don’t lie. Please don’t. I can’t handle that."
He shook his head slowly. "Mia, I swear to you, I don’t remember that. I went to the bar for a meeting. I had a few drinks, yes. But that’s all I remember."
Her brows furrowed. "Are you saying.... you were drugged?"
He ran a hand through his hair, the weight of it all hitting him. "If something happened, I swear I didn’t consent to it. When I woke up the next day, I thought i was brought there because passed out. I didn’t pursue it because, the client has a significant role to play." He raised her face up to him gently. "I swear with everything I owe dare. I never knew what happened, never meant to hurt you, Mia. Never."
She looked away, heart torn in two. He looked looked sincere.
Part of her believed him. The other part... the broken, betrayed part — the one that saw and heard the strange moan.... still saw that image burned in her mind.
"I don’t know what to believe," she said softly.
"Then believe me," he whispered, stepping closer again. "Look at me, Mia. You know me. You know I would never do something like. I might be anything but never a liar." She looked away again because this time, she knew he was right.
Stefan could be cold hearted, ruthless, annoying.... But something he never is, is a liar. He’d say what or however he feels despite you getting hurt. That’s how truthful he is.
He gently took her hands again. "You know within yourself — all this time, I’ve never lied to you. Why would I start now? Especially about something like this?"
Her heart pounded. She looked up at him, eyes shining. "You’re right. We’re partners and we need to trust each other. That’s the only way we can go far. But I don’t know what happened......" She dropped her gaze to the floor and fidgeting with her hands
"When I heard the..... moan and saw her..... on....top...of.... of ....you.... something broke in me. Something I couldn’t... describe... it... hurt... too much" She raised her head up "Why does it hurt so much?" she stared at him like he had the answer of what she was feeling.
"You have every right to feel this way Mia. Because that’s how couples who love each other feels." Stefan said, his voice barely audible. "I can only guess how you’re feeling, and it’s because of me"
He took her hands in his "If I’d witness something like that. I don’t think the guy involved would leave there alive." She looked at him surprise, he stared at her back.
No smile on his face that shows he was joking. He was serious. He’d kill someone for her. She didn’t know how that revelation made her feel.
"Yes. I’d really kill anyone that comes close to you and tries to take advantage of you. And it’s because I love you. I’ve loved you since the first moment I realized your silence made more sense to me than anyone else’s words ever could."
Mia looked up at him. Her lips trembled.
Stefan leaned forward once more, but this time he didn’t rush the kiss. He paused, just inches from her lips. His lips brushing the side of hers.
"If I continue, I won’t be able to stop myself. So, if you don’t want this," he said, "tell me now."
She didn’t speak. She wanted this. She’d wanted this since the day he’d told her he loved her on their fake engagement party.
So, this time, she closed the distance between their lips, and took his lips with hers. Their tongue dangled together intensely.
She let out a moan as her fingers threaded into his hair, his arms circled around her. Then without a second thought, he lifted her unto the table. All the content scattered around but none breaking the kiss.
His hands found its way to places he hadn’t let it explore before. His lips still locked in her blocking back her moan.
After a while, he lifted her and moved towards the bed... placing her on it gently.
Their bodies moved in sync, like muscle memory... like they’d done this a thousand times in their hearts, even if their bodies were only catching up now.
Stefan’s hands roamed her back slowly as he kissed her, deep and deliberate, as though he was trying to apologize without words.... to reassure her, to worship her, to ask for her trust again.
Mia’s breaths came soft and uneven, her hands sliding over his chest, memorizing the shape of the man she thought she had lost. There was hesitation in her touch, like her heart still needed convincing... but the moment he whispered her name against her lips, the wall inside her crumbled.
She started unbuttoning his shirt with a not so steady hands. It took her few minutes to successfully unbutton his shirt. Then she slowly pulled it from his arm.
Whenever her lips leaves his, he’d groan and bring it back immediately.... kissing her again. His hands went for her, peeling her top over her head.... needing to feel her skin.
His mouth found the hollow of her throat, the slope of her collarbone. He kissed down her body like he was learning her all over again. Her fingers tangled in his hair as another moan escaped her lips.... low, breathy.
Then he broke the kiss, and looked up at her once more. "Are you sure?"
Mia nodded, voice soft but steady. "Yes."
"I need you to know that if we continue this, you’ll have to take responsibility of me" She raised her brow up. What was he saying at this time. This wasn’t the right time for discussion.
"I won’t be able to let go of you. Ever. You’ll be stuck with me. Are you sure?" Mia stomach fell.
The look on his face is like that of a child. A child who his dad never acknowledged, a child who’s mother had been away for a long time. A child who believes no one could ever love or want him.
She kissed his lips and pulled away looking at him. " I want you to listen to this very well, even though I won’t stop saying it. I want this Stefan" She pecked his lips again, " I love you Stefan" another peck "I Love Stefan Sterling...."
She couldn’t finish her words because Stefan already claimed her lips. When their bodies came together again, it was with everything they’d held back for weeks. The longing, the ache, the love, the forgiveness.
She gasped softly as he entered her, and he stilled for a moment, pressing his forehead to hers. Her legs wrapped around him as she arched upward, meeting his rhythm with a need she didn’t know she still carried.
They moved like they were writing something sacred with their bodies.
Her name fell from his lips again and again, like a prayer. And when she moaned his, clutching him tighter, Stefan swore he’d never stop loving her.... not for anything, not even time.
They reached their peak together, tangled and breathless, and for a few blissful seconds, everything else vanished.
Afterward, Stefan pulled her into his chest, their skin still slick with warmth, her breath slowly steadying as he kissed the top of her head.
"I’m never letting anything come between us again," he whispered.
Mia didn’t reply, she just curled into him, letting his heartbeat lull her to sleep..... finally, with peace.
