The Strongest Beast Tamer With the Strongest System-Chapter 20: Elsa and Mary
Nova Prime Academy.
The largest high school in City Z.
Its advantage wasn’t academic excellence—it was sheer scale.
Compared to other high schools, it was ten times larger.
With more than thirty thousand students enrolled.
Perhaps by some miracle, the percentage of students who awakened here was always the highest—even though the student body came from diverse backgrounds.
It sometimes reached 20%.
An absurdly high number, considering that only 3% of humanity worldwide were Awakeners.
With over thirty thousand students, this school could produce more than two thousand Awakeners.
Because of that, many Elite Families chose to send their children here, hoping to recruit newly awakened talents.
In the afternoon, many Awakener students remained on campus.
They usually went to Monster World in the morning or at night. Afternoons were often used to form teams.
You didn’t have to be strong to gather companions. If you knew of an interesting location, others would join you.
Even Margaret came to school that afternoon, gathering her subordinates to assess their progress.
She hadn’t recruited many—but every one of them was top-tier.
At the moment, she sat casually beside the basketball court, watching two girls fight.
Emma—the one with braided brown hair—versus a muscular girl.
The muscular one dominated effortlessly.
Emma had only recently awakened and possessed no special talent.
Punch after punch landed on her body. She could barely strike back—even with a sword in hand.
Emma looked like she wanted to cry, but she forced herself to endure.
She had joined through alternative means. This was her test.
Maybe she was weaker—but she would prove she was the kind who endured hardship.
After all, being favored by Margaret had benefits.
Money was the smallest favor one could ask.
She had seen Margaret grant her subordinates things they once only dreamed of.
Margaret watched without expression while others nearby chatted casually—about luxury items and handsome men.
Their chatter abruptly stopped when a drone bearing the court’s emblem descended toward them.
"What’s this?" said a red-haired girl with wavy hair—Mary Wilson.
"Don’t these usually deliver court summons? Is one of us being called to trial?" added a short blonde—Elsa Taylor.
Because of the drone, Emma and the muscular girl stopped fighting.
Unexpectedly, the drone hovered in front of Margaret.
Her brows knitted.
"Identity confirmed. Margaret Harvey..." the drone announced mechanically.
"Mrs. Harvey, you have been legally confirmed to have manipulated police officers, prosecutors, and judges in the case against Leonardo Anderson. Please appear in court tomorrow at 9 AM to hear the charges filed against you."
Silence fell.
...
That night, Leonardo didn’t go to Monster World—but he sent Ellie, demanding she gain at least two levels.
He himself went to a luxurious restaurant on a busy street—a place where even the most frugal customer would spend at least a thousand dollars.
Maybe he had been overly paranoid all this time.
He stood in front of the restaurant openly.
No one paid him special attention.
Even those who recognized his face quickly looked away.
His not-guilty verdict had only been issued that afternoon. The police probably didn’t even know yet—let alone ordinary civilians.
Even though his face had once been broadcast on TV with a reward attached, people forgot after two or three days.
He walked inside and was greeted warmly by a waiter—even though he had arrived without a car.
He was seated beside a window overlooking the street.
When he opened the menu, he had to pretend he wasn’t dazzled.
Alaskan king crab.
Wagyu A5.
Deep-sea lobster.
He ordered all three—and a fifty-year-old chilled wine.
Thirteen thousand dollars in total.
He didn’t blink when paying.
When the dishes arrived, he ignored table manners entirely and ate like he was at home.
It was obvious from his demeanor—he was newly rich.
Why bother pretending otherwise?
Overcompensating would only make him look like someone desperate to prove he was born with a silver spoon.
DING!
(EXP Ellie has been filled, Ellie has leveled up to Level 7!)
The notification appeared just as he finished eating.
Six Evolution Points.
He didn’t rush to distribute them. He would wait for more.
Ellie seemed unusually energetic tonight.
Even after leveling up, EXP notifications kept coming.
After dinner, Leonardo left.
He bought another pack of cigarettes—the previous one had started tasting unpleasant.
Instead of returning home, he went to an electronics store.
He bought the most expensive gaming laptop available, along with full accessories.
Then he headed to a café and relaxed on the rooftop, gaming while enjoying the night breeze.
"Mary, this is so satisfying. I can’t forget that bitch’s expression—it looked like someone smacked her backside."
"Hahaha, stop talking about it! I had to take calming pills just to stop laughing. First time I’ve ever seen her leave in anger."
"You know, this is insane. How did Anderson suddenly countersue Margaret after disappearing for a few days?"
"It doesn’t make sense. Unless he hired a giant law firm, it’s impossible. Not many firms dare oppose the Harvey Family here. Not only did he clear his name—he even sued her back."
Leonardo froze mid-game.
The two women walking past him were too engrossed in their gossip to notice him.
Elsa Taylor. Mary Wilson.
He recognized them immediately. Same school.
Both close to Margaret—second only to her in popularity.
They moved to a corner and continued talking—crudely, nothing like how they behaved in front of Margaret.
This conversation was interesting.
How could Leonardo simply ignore it?
He began recording with his phone, synced it to his laptop, then teleported the phone onto a darker side table near them.
Now everything would be recorded clearly.
Leonardo moved to a lower balcony beneath the rooftop and put on a headset.
"Mary, your father’s the Harvey Family’s lawyer. He’ll accompany that bitch tomorrow, right?"
"Mm. If Anderson’s lawyer is strong, even my father won’t be able to overturn this. At best, he can help her avoid prison for manipulating law enforcement—but she’ll still have to pay compensation."
"Oh, what a pity. Honestly, I wish she’d rot in prison."
"How can you say that? Even though she’s insulted us countless times, we’ve benefited a lot from her."
"I’m just worried. She’s too ruthless. One day she’ll cause her own downfall—and as her friends, we’ll get dragged down too."
"That makes sense. Maybe this is a sign her luck—and the Harvey Family’s—is running out."
"We should prepare ourselves. Just in case."
While listening, Leonardo checked his email.
A message from Laura’s assistant had arrived—containing the bank account number for payment.
But Leonardo focused instead on Laura’s phone number.
Even though it was late, he called her through his laptop.
"What?" Her tone was irritated.
"I truly want to win every one of my demands," Leonardo said calmly.
"You know your requests are excessive. The judge won’t approve even half—unless there’s another variable," Laura replied.
"I’m sure we can create another variable. Take a look."
Leonardo cut the recorded footage and sent it to her.
(The red-haired one—is she the daughter of the Harvey Family’s lawyer?)
