The Strongest Beast Tamer With the Strongest System-Chapter 45: Levi
Leonardo was initially confused when he heard about the gas, but then he was left stunned.
Through the pores of his skin, Sergio actually released a huge amount of gas, and the gas pushed him upward into the air.
His massive body, even with Ronald on his shoulders, suddenly looked incredibly light because of that thrust.
"Although Sergio is obese, he awakened with a special body that allows him to control and multiply the gas inside his body. Once his Mana became large enough, he could rely on that gas to fly," William explained when he noticed Leonardo’s astonishment.
"Let’s go," he added, taking off again and leading the way.
At the same time, a pair of wings formed behind Lucy’s back—condensed wind gathering into solid shapes.
When they all rose into the sky, the people below could only stare in amazement and envy.
The ability to fly didn’t always belong to higher classes, but no one would ever deny its value.
Everyone wanted it.
"This is our advantage..." William continued, glancing at Leonardo.
"Very few people can fly, so there are very few competitors for a Flying Gate. This one was discovered by us first, so we don’t have to deal with outsiders. All we need to do is secure the victory."
Leonardo nodded, though he wasn’t entirely convinced. It was possible that someone else had already discovered the gate as well.
Still, the number of competitors would certainly be small.
Their destination was the sand valley covered by the massive sandstorm.
They flew higher than the storm itself.
No clouds could be seen above them, which explained the intense heat. Flying this high only made it worse.
Leonardo even began to sweat slightly.
The sandstorm below was enormous, stretching endlessly across the desert.
Yet parts of it looked disturbed, as if battles were happening inside.
"Damn!" William suddenly cursed while Leonardo was still looking down.
Leonardo instinctively looked upward.
What he saw made his eyes widen.
A gate floating in midair.
And standing on top of it was a massive Thunder Eagle.
Storm clouds swirled around the creature, while multicolored lightning crackled across its body.
Even a single bolt of lightning radiating from it gave Leonardo an overwhelming sense of danger.
(Level 18, S-Class!)
That was the notification he received.
But the eagle wasn’t looking at them.
Its attention was fixed on a small flying boat, barely two meters long, hovering in the air.
Leonardo couldn’t help but feel shocked when he saw the young man standing on the boat.
Bright blond hair.
So bright that it sometimes looked almost white.
Levi Harvey.
Margaret’s cousin.
A second-year student, one year younger than Leonardo.
In his hand was a lightning spear that crackled endlessly with energy.
Even as an S-Class monster, the thunder eagle looked extremely cautious.
It didn’t dare attack first.
As for William’s group, the eagle clearly didn’t care about them at all.
"This guy is very strong," Ronald said.
"He must also be S-Class," Sergio added.
"What should we do? Should we cooperate with him?" Lucy asked.
None of them dared underestimate an S-Class Awakener.
Leonardo was technically the same, especially with his monsters.
Unfortunately, their levels were far too low to be taken seriously.
William thought for a moment before speaking to the blond youth.
"Friend, how about we cooperate to kill this eagle? It might be difficult for you alone, especially since you’re relying on a flying boat."
Levi naturally noticed them.
His eyes flickered slightly when he saw Leonardo among them.
"I want half of the reward, including the Monster Core. How about it?" he said.
The expressions of William and the others instantly turned ugly.
"Friend, isn’t that a bit too much?" Sergio asked.
"If you don’t like it, then we can compete instead," Levi replied with a faint smile.
"Whoever gets lucky will own it."
"Of course... just because you get it here doesn’t mean you’ll be able to take it away."
"You—!" William’s face darkened with anger.
"Peterson," Leonardo suddenly said.
The group turned toward him in confusion.
"He’s Levi Harvey, from the Harvey Family," Leonardo told them.
He wanted to see how they would react after hearing that.
And just as he expected, their expressions changed dramatically.
"You’re Levi Harvey?" William asked instinctively.
Levi realized Leonardo had revealed his identity.
He simply nodded calmly.
After receiving confirmation, William and the others exchanged glances, their expressions turning helpless.
Clearly, none of them dared provoke someone from that family.
"Anderson," William said to Leonardo.
Leonardo looked at him in confusion.
"It seems we have to cancel our cooperation."
"It’s not that I want this, but even if we continue... we won’t be able to give you anything."
Leonardo: "..."
He had thought joining this team would give him some valuable experience.
But it seemed that a randomly assembled team really couldn’t be relied on.
"Well..." he nodded calmly.
"If we discover something else in the future, we’ll definitely invite you and give you something better as compensation," William said.
"Sure," Leonardo replied briefly before signaling Liam to leave.
In his opinion, William and the others were actually decent people.
They were simply being rational, choosing the safer path.
Leonardo would probably make the same decision in their position.
So he didn’t feel offended or resentful.
Naturally, he began thinking about his own plan once he separated from them.
"Anderson, wait!"
Suddenly Levi called out to him.
Leonardo stopped, slightly confused.
He wasn’t close with Levi at all. Levi was younger than him.
If it weren’t for Margaret, he probably wouldn’t even know who Levi was.
Leonardo didn’t say anything, only looked at him as if asking why he was calling.
"Lend me your wolf," Levi said.
"And give it the maximum buff you can."
"I’ll guarantee its safety, and I’ll compensate you if anything bad happens."
"And your wolf will gain plenty of EXP by helping."
"Are you serious?" Leonardo asked in surprise.
"What guarantee do you have?" he continued.
This was definitely an offer he could accept. After all, he wanted the EXP from the eagle’s death.
But without some form of guarantee, he wouldn’t dare take the risk.
Besides, even in this situation, he could still carry out his own plan if necessary.
