The Strongest Onmyoji and the Shikigami With AI are Unparalleled in Another World ~ A Second Life Properly Enjoyed Using Artificial Intelligence ~-Chapter 129 - Back to Work After a Long Break
As we arrived at the guild in the cold, it was fairly lively, with adventurers crowding around the bulletin board where job requests were posted.
“What a nostalgic sight.”
It was indeed lively, but it didn’t have the noise of the royal capital.
“Right?”
We headed to the reception while watching the adventurers. When we reached the reception, Pamela was there, but Tama-chan was nowhere to be seen.
“Huh? Where’s Tama-chan? At home?”
Maybe she didn’t come because it was too cold?
“Here.”
Pamela smiled wryly and pointed downwards, so I leaned over to take a look.
There, curled up on Pamela’s lap, was Tama-chan, sleeping.
“I see. She’s warming herself with Pamela’s legs.”
“I’m warm too, you know.”
“Well, that’s fine. What kind of jobs do we have?”
“Ah... about that, there’s a designated request.”
Designated?
“Is it Leanne?”
“You guessed it well!”
Pamela looked a bit surprised.
“She must be in Jeffrey’s room. Her magical power is unique and distinct. I can sense her anywhere in this town.”
“Oh, I see...”
Pamela seemed a little taken aback.
She probably thinks I’m a stalker.
“If she hides her magical power, I wouldn’t be able to tell. But she doesn’t seem to want to hide it.”
“Oh, I see...”
Once again, she looked uneasy.
It’s probably not about me but about Leanne.
“Can you tell about me too?”
Natalia asked.
“I wouldn’t be able to tell. Your magical power is just too ordinary.”
While it’s decent, it really lacks any distinct features.
“Ordinary...”
“Yeah, that’s normal. Neither Annie nor Alice can tell either.”

I guess I chose my words poorly.
“What about me!? What about me!?”
Lily asked eagerly.
“I can tell about you. It might be due to your race.”
“I see! That means I can relax even if I get lost!”
No, don’t get lost.
“You have Crow-chan with you, so you’ll be fine.”
“Thanks, Crow-chan!”
Crow-chan is outside, though.
“So, Pamela, what’s the content of the designated request?”
“It’s a survey of the forest. They want you to inform them about the stampede on-site.”
Ah, I see.
“Should I take them with me?”
“That’s how it’ll be. The fee for the request is... 60 gold coins.”
Wow...
“I really like that person,” Lily said with a happy smile.
It’s probably because she made some good money in the royal capital.
“Well, while you’re at it, please gather some herbs and defeat some monsters to collect magic stones. Especially the herbs. They’ll be running low soon.”
“Will it wither in the winter?
Well, it’s just grass, after all.”
“I got it. Bring Leanne here.”
“Sorry, but could you go call her for me? I can’t move…”
Oh, Tama-chan…
“Yeah, yeah. It’s fine to spoil her, but at least make sure to go to the bathroom.”
“Of course I’ll get up for that!”
Pamela gave a wry smile as I headed toward Jeffrey’s room.
There, I found Jeffrey at his desk and a stone-faced Leanne sitting on the sofa.
“Oh! Yuuma-sama!”
Leanne’s face brightened the moment she noticed us entering the room.
“Hey. You had a request, right?”
I asked as I sat down on the sofa opposite her.
“Yes. It’s the final investigation regarding the Stampede incident. My uncle actually asked me to do it. We’ve already received a report from Layla, who works for you, saying there’s no problem, so this is just a final check.”
Double-checking, huh?
Considering the scale of that disaster, I suppose that’s just about right.
“Got it. I’ll show you the way.”
“Thank you so much! By the way, are there just four of you today?”
Leanne glanced around at us.
“The two mages aren’t coming out of the kotatsu.”
“Kotatsu?”
Well, I guess she wouldn’t know.
“A heating device from the world I came from. I made one, but now they won’t come out.”
I could only see their face and the right hand they waved at me.
“Wow… that sounds kind of interesting.”
“Want me to show you?”
“Is that okay?”
“Why not? How about you join us for dinner at my place? Our personal chef is amazing.”
“Personal chef? Clive is an adventurer too, you know.”
Natalia retorted, sounding exasperated.
“Clive? Oh, the B-rank adventurer…”
Clive was in the royal capital, so Leanne must know him too.
“He wants to open his own restaurant someday.”
“That’s a wonderful dream. I think it’s great. Well then, I’ll take you up on your offer.”
Though we do have two weird floating heads around…
“Right… about the request, can we handle it now?”
“Yes, let’s go.”
Leanne said as she stood up, and so did we.
Jeffrey, who had completely faded into the background, watched us leave the room, and we headed out of the guild.
Waiting outside in the cold was Koma-chan, sitting obediently.
“It’s freezing…”
Leanne shivered as she stepped outside, clearly feeling the cold.
“Oh, Leanne-sama, I have a scarf here if you need one…”
Natalia pulled out yet another scarf from her spatial magic.
“Oh! Thank you so much!”
Leanne beamed, and Natalia began wrapping the scarf around her neck.
Honestly, they looked like mother and daughter.
“How many scarves does Natalia have, I wonder?”
“Who knows?”
“Natalia enjoys sewing and knitting. That’s why she has a lot of them. Last winter, she gave everyone scarves.”
Lily explained.
“Must be because she has too much free time.”
“She’s really talented, isn’t she?”
Yeah, seriously.
“By the way, the scarf Yuuma’s wearing is probably made from the most expensive fabric.”
“Natalia likes to give special treatment, doesn’t she?”
Yeah, that does sound like her.
She always makes sure to pour water just for me when we eat.
“That’s not true,” Natalia said, smiling sweetly as she finished wrapping the scarf around Leanne’s neck, overhearing our conversation.
“Oh dear... sorry about that! I always end up saying too much,” Leanne apologized.
Yeah, I know.
