Capítulo 413: The Beginning Of The End [LXXV]

After soaking in the hot springs for a while, they quickly made their way to the next destination, which was obviously the divine water park, of course.

“…Is this really going to be fun?” Aestrea was a little skeptical about it.

“OF COURSE!” Kael shouted loudly, puffing out his chest proudly.

“It’s the finest water park ever crafted for gods! Since we deities are accustomed to constant adrenaline from spending most of our time fighting, the God of Entertainment used his power to create countless attractions that could still thrill us! And one of them is this water park, which can make even the coldest gods feel a rush of excitement, or even a hint of fear, right before the drop!”

He explained enthusiastically.

“…Is that even possible?” Tyrian muttered in a doubtful tone.

“You’ll see!” Kael snorted, striding ahead toward their first attraction, which appeared to be an ordinary circular waterslide.

They grabbed a three-person float and eagerly climbed the stairs, only to end up waiting more than thirty minutes for their turn.

“Finally!” Tyrian exclaimed, stretching his arms above his head.

“I hope this is as good as you claimed,” he said, eyes narrowing as he shot a cold stare at Kael, who still wore the same face full of excitement.

Aestrea nodded in agreement.

Then, as they positioned the float on the launch platform, the god that was there acting as the supervisor held out a crystal ball toward them.

“Infuse your divinity here, and you’ll be ready to go.”

Kael didn’t hesitate for even a moment; Aestrea and Tyrian, however, remained somewhat wary.

“Why do we need to do that?” Tyrian asked curiously.

The supervisor calmly explained, “This contains a trace of divinity from our director. It temporarily seals your own divinity and also slightly rewrites your emotions to make you feel more ‘afraid’ of the waterslide.”

“That’s how we manage to truly entertain gods like you.”

“Ohhhh!” Tyrian nodded thoughtfully and placed his hand on the crystal. But when it was Aestrea’s turn…

His eyes glowed slighly as he analyzed the crystal ball before putting his hand on it.

‘…Bingo.’

His eyes narrowed as the crystal ball sucked out of his divinity, just to be interrupted midway, but this wasn’t noticed by the supervisor.

‘…I didn’t expect that the God of Control would be the true owner of this waterpark… this actually facilitates my job in finding him.’

The God of Control was one of the many enemies that Aestrea still had to kill. But between them, he was the one who Aestrea truly didn’t have a hint of where he was… until now.

As for that crystal ball, it might be some kind of manipulation tool that he used to control many gods.

‘No wonder during the third Fallen War, he had so many gods fighting for him. He was using mind control… which is quite the taboo.’

‘Maybe I can use the Divine Concord for this? I’ll have to talk with Olivia, though.’ Aestrea thought with a hidden smile.

Then, he joined the other two in the three-person float before the supervisor gently kicked the float to make them fall.

“WOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!”

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!”

The voices of the two idiots literally echoed off the waterslide walls.

They shouted with unrestrained excitement, wide, idiotic grins plastered across their faces as if this was the peak of their existence.

Of course, Aestrea was the exact opposite, as he had rejected that mind control power.

And just like that, five more hours of his life vanished to “enjoying” the water park with the two of them.

The time had passed quickly, and right now, they were already back at the hotel that Kael had booked for them.

“Ugh… I’m exhausted!” Kael muttered, throwing himself face-first into the bed.

“Same…” Tyrian groaned, collapsing onto the other side.

A second later, his expression twisted into a wide grin.

“But damn, it was worth it.”

“Told you!” Kael replied proudly, muffled by the pillow.

Aestrea just shook his head and simply said to them:

“I’m going on a smoke break…”

“You smoke?”

“Casually,” Aestrea shrugged his shoulder lighly, before stepping out of their room, and right at that instant…

And with that, he stepped out of the room.

Fwissh!

In the very next instant, space folded, and Aestrea reappeared within the water park once more.

This time, however, it was completely deserted.

Now, it was closed as it was already 8 pm, and the sun was almost done setting down, leaving a seemingly creepy atmosphere.

“Mhm…”

Drip…

Aestrea bit into his index finger without hesitation, letting a single drop of blood fall to the ground.

Then, he simply closed his eyes.

Squish…

His spiritual sense expanded instantly, blanketing the entire area as the blood seeped into the stone beneath his feet.

The crimson droplet flowed deeper and deeper underground, carrying his perception with it.

Ten meters.

Fifty.

A hundred.

Two hundred.

Aestrea’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.

“…Five hundred meters, and still nothing?”

“Tsk.”

He withdrew his blood, clicking his tongue in mild irritation.

“No hidden base… or at least not below.”

After a brief pause, Aestrea stepped forward and entered the water park itself.

This time, he focused on residual traces, faint remnants of divinity clinging to the environment, almost invisible unless one knew exactly what to look for.

And of course, he had found some when he had expanded his spiritual sense to overlook the entire water park.

His eyes narrowed as his spiritual sense followed the lingering trails one by one. Each trace twisted, curved, and ultimately converged toward the same location.

“…You’ve got to be kidding me.”

All of them led to the female bathroom.

Creaak…

Slowly, Aestrea pushed the door of the female bathroom open.

And just as he took his first look at it, his steps stopped immediately.

His eyes widened, not at the hole torn through the far wall, but at what lay scattered across the tiled floor.

Bodies. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Dozens of them.

No… far more than dozens.

The corpses of goddesses were strewn chaotically across the ground, some collapsed against the walls, others piled near the edges of the massivehole.

Their divine auras had long faded, leaving behind nothing but cold, lifeless shells.

The air was thick with the faint residue of divinity and blood, heavy enough to make even breathing feel uncomfortable.

And beyond the hole…

There were more.

It wasn’t just a hole… it seemed more like a tunnel!

“…What the fuck is this?” Aestrea muttered.

Aestrea walked further into the tunnel, and the corpses only seemed to increase, but strangely, they were all women!

There was not a single dead man’s soul here.

However, the question was… how come no man had come here?

Surely there was one pervert who wanted to have sex with his girlfriend in the bathroom stall, no?

When he finally reached the end of the tunnel… he frowned deeply.

There were no more corpses, and instead… There was a strange creature in the distance that made him directly unsheathe his sword.

“…An hydra?”

His eyes widened in complete surprise as the figure turned around and revealed seven similar heads.

“How come such an ancient monster is still alive?”

A hydra..

An ancient monster from the earliest ages, creatures born before the era of the gods had truly begun!

Beings that thrived on destruction and regeneration.

Cut off one head, and two would grow back stronger. Slay its body, and it would rise again unless its core was completely annihilated.

Worst of all… hydras were notorious for targeting goddesses.

Their flesh, their divinity, their essence, especially those tied to fertility, water, or life, were considered the perfect nourishment.

A relic of an age that should have been erased.

“…No wonder, there were only females.”

Swing!

Aestrea gripped Midnight firmly as he closed his eyes and brought the blade close to his forehead, causing a silver shimmer to flow through his body.

“Moonlit Ice Lotus Sword Art…”

He decided that he wanted to finish the hydra in one.

『 Sixth Move! (✯ Moonlight Descent ✯) 』

His figure disappeared, and in the same instant, he reappeared directly before the hydra’s seven snarling heads, silver light trailing behind him like a falling star.

Before the creature could even react, he was already gone again.

SPLURT!

Blood exploded into the air in a violent spray as all seven heads slid cleanly from their necks, collapsing to the ground with heavy, wet thuds.

The massive body of the hydra shuddered once… twice… then went still.

Aestrea calmly sheathed Midnight as if he had done nothing more than swat an insect.

His nose twitched.

“…Hm?”

Swish!

He turned slowly.

A massive sword came screaming through the air toward his head, cutting through the space with murderous force.

Ssshkkk…

Aestrea merely tilted his head to the side, the blade scraping past his cheek and drawing a thin line of blood that healed almost instantly.

The sword embedded itself in the stone behind him with a thunderous crash.

Aestrea glanced at the mark on his skin, then looked forward again.

“And who might you be?” he asked coldly.

The man standing opposite him had wild eyes and a twisted grin stretching across his face. Seeing Aestrea’s calm reaction, instead of anger, he burst into manic laughter.

“Hahahaha! Of course, I am Kyora, the God of Summo—!”

BAAAAAAAAAAANG!

Aestrea crossed the distance in an instant and slammed his foot straight into Kyora’s face, crushing him into the ground with overwhelming force.

Stone cracked outward in a web as the man’s body embedded itself deep into the floor.

Aestrea stood over him, one foot pressing down on his skull.

The killing intent pouring from his crimson eyes was so dense it felt physical.

Kyora’s laughter died instantly.

His entire body trembled as he looked up, staring directly into those glowing crimson orbs looming above him.

His breath hitched, pure terror overtaking whatever madness he had before.

“Where’s Octo?”
