The Supreme Wild Young Master-Chapter 594: Biochemical Base_1
Chapter 594: Chapter 594: Biochemical Base_1
The Taoist priest scoffed at Zhang Xian’s audacity, and hit the door with his hand dismissively.
Their Taoist temple was, in fact, a biochemical research base. Those guys brazenly walking in here, that was akin to seeking death, wasn’t it?
Unfortunately, these folks were unimpressive specimens, unsuitable for exploitation. If they had even an ounce of potential, they could’ve become fruitful subjects for the research base.
"What’s going on?"
A few middle-aged men dressed in Taoist robes exited from within.
"You guys in this Taoist temple are quite peculiar."
Zhang Xian chuckled and said, "These days, is being a Taoist the trend? I can get the appeal for temples in bigger, more respectable areas, but this is a remote, poverty-stricken place. Aren’t there an awful lot of young folks here trying out this Taoist thing?"
"Kid, you’re asking too many questions."
The Taoist priest from before grimaced and said coldly, "Earlier, we let you guys leave and you refused. Now, even if you wanted to leave, you wouldn’t get the chance."
"We didn’t plan on leaving."
Zhang Xian looked at the Taoist priest and said, "Right, you guys, the so-called ’Voice of God’, you’re certainly brave. Conducting biochemical human research and using our Huaxia people as lab rats within our territory."
"You..." The Taoist was taken aback and stared at Zhang Xian, clearly surprised.
The others also wore a similar surprise on their faces, pondering how Zhang Xian knew their allegiance.
"Find that odd?"
Zhang Xian pushed past the Taoist priest into the compound, spreading his divine sense. "I don’t mind admitting I came here specifically for you, the ’Voice of God’."
"You’re seeking death." A Taoist priest made a sudden move.
Without turning around or making any apparent move, the head of the assaulting Taoist unexpectedly flew into the air, leaving a trail of blood.
The heads of the other two priests flew high into air landing on the ground like a pair of soccer balls.
"Ah..."
Jiang Yuanyuan let out a piercing scream, she backed out, her face as white as a sheet.
The woman was also shaking from fear.
"Don’t be scared, it’s okay." mo Shaoyun went forward and comforted the woman and Jiang Yuanyuan.
At first, she had found it hard to adapt too, but after spending some time with Zhang Xian and witnessing a series of similar events, she gradually became used to it. After all, wasn’t she now a cultivator herself?
"Damn, there is indeed a lab in here."
Zhang Xian swept the place with his divine sense and said to Sister Shaoyun, "Elder Sister Shaoyun, keep an eye on these two, let’s go check it out."
"Okay." Mo Shaoyun nodded and said to Jiang Yuanyuan and the woman, "Let’s head downstairs to take a look. The truth behind the village’s issue will soon be revealed."
Jiang Yuanyuan and the woman glanced at each other and then followed behind Mo Shaoyun.
...
Underneath the Taoist temple, in the underground lab.
A middle-aged man who had learned about the happenings above through a surveillance system had his eyebrows furrowed.
The Taoist temple was supposed to be a secret, nobody would associate a dilapidated Taoist temple with a laboratory. How did the guys above know that the laboratory was beneath the Taoist temple?
It wasn’t hard to tell from the way they headed straight for the entrance that they had known the truth all along.
"Damn it, do we have a mole?"
The corner of the middle-aged man’s mouth twitched unnaturally. He quickly left his office and walked into the laboratory.
Several middle-aged men in white coats were busy in the lab, with a series of over two-meter high transparent glass boxes along the wall. Each box contained a naked man, stronger than average, connected to various devices.
"Team Leader, is there a problem?"
Upon seeing the man standing ominously at the entrance, a researcher asked undeterred.
"How are these guys doing?" The middle-aged man asked.
"They’re almost ready. Give them two more days and we’ll have ten more biochemical humans here, all of them powerful," replied the researcher.
"How strong?" The middle-aged man inquired.
The researcher replied: "According to the standards you gave, at least three of them could reach the Innate level. The villagers from the mountains have good physical condition. After enhancement, their strength would be formidable."
"Good."
The middle-aged man nodded and asked, "We still have three at the Innate level, right?"
"Just two now,"
The researcher explained: "The one that was taken out yesterday hasn’t returned."
"That one is not coming back."
The team leader hesitated then said: "Let’s release those two. Our location has been compromised; people will soon arrive."
"Are you serious?"
The researcher said: "We can’t handle those two if they go on a rampage!"
"So, we can handle the ones outside?" The team leader said: "We have no options now, those guys out there are not weak."
The researcher hesitated then nodded and walked away.
"Everyone, clear out!"
The team leader spoke to everyone in the lab: "Our location has been compromised. We need to release the biochemical humans to resist the invaders."
"No...we’re releasing those two?"
"Gosh, we better leave. Those two don’t recognize friend from foe. Anyone they can recognize is probably on their kill list. None of us can withstand their attack."
Several researchers jumped when they saw their group leader planning to release the biochemical humans. They swiftly abandoned their work and evacuated the laboratory.
"It would be nice if we had two more evil cultivators," the group leader murmured.
After standing at the entrance for a while, he closed the door of the lab and headed in a certain direction.
"Roar..."
Suddenly, a roar echoed through the research base.
"Boom..."
Then, two figures burst out from a direction, exuding a fierce aura. Their hollow, lifeless eyes emitted a faint green glow.
"These two things are really savage!" a researcher exclaimed from a room.
Another researcher remarked, "If you were locked up all the time, you wouldn’t be in a good mood when you got out either. Even though these guys don’t have their own thoughts, their instincts still exist."
The researcher merely smiled, choosing not to respond further.
The group leader stood by the window, watching the two menacing figures through the thick glass, a cold smile playing on his face.
"Ah..."
A scream suddenly resounded.
Jiang Yuanyuan and a woman emerged from around the corner. Spotting the two wild figures upfront, they couldn’t help but scream, as if a terrifying aura was rushing toward them.
"What are those?" Mo Shaoyun halted and asked in surprise, "Could they be biochemical humans?"
Zhang Xian chuckled, "Exactly, they are biochemical humans. It seems they already knew we were coming and released two of them to wait for us."
"What should we do?" Jiang Yuanyuan asked.
The woman stared at the two robust figures, her body involuntarily shaking from the wild aura they exuded, "Did...did those two beings victimize our villagers? I...I feel an uncomfortable vibe from them, as if they will devour us at any moment."
Zhang Xian responded, "Yes, the ones who caused trouble in your village were beings like these. However, it wasn’t them specifically, but others of their kind. Now, you shouldn’t doubt anymore that the incident in your village has nothing to do with us. Soon, you will see their strength and why you were never able to catch them."
The woman looked at the two biochemical humans not far away, her legs becoming weak.
"Roar..."
Suddenly, one of the biochemical humans spotted Zhang Xian and the others and charged at them as if it was mad, leaving behind a trail of afterimages.
"Ah..."
The woman and Jiang Yuanyuan were stunned, forgetting to run.
One moment, the biochemical human was more than ten meters away, the next, it was right in front of them, seemingly ready to seize their lives.
"Interesting."
Zhang Xian smirked coldly, quickly gripped the biochemical human’s throat, and ruthlessly slammed it into the wall.
"Boom..."
The sturdy wall, as brittle as paper under the tremendous force, was smashed into a large hole.
"Roar..."
At this moment, another biochemical human also pounced over.
With a swift turn, Zhang Xian launched a roundhouse kick, sending the charging biochemical human flying like a cannonball into a large iron box.
"Clang..."
A harsh sound resonated. The iron box was severely dented under the impact of the biochemical human, distorting its shape.
"This..."
The woman and Jiang Yuanyuan watched with wide eyes, unable to believe what was happening. Could a human possess such strength? They could puncture a wall and deform a solid iron box. And how could a man with Zhang Xian’s slim body have such immense power? It completely defied everything they had learned over the years.
"How is this possible?"
Back in the room, the group leader and the researchers also stared in disbelief.
They knew very well how powerful the two biochemical humans were, and that their frenzy would make them even more formidable than wild beasts.
However, these two powerful beasts, in the hands of a slim man, were just as vulnerable as a kicked football and were sent flying away.
"Group leader, what’s happening?"
A researcher questioned, "Could these two biochemical humans have experienced some issues, causing their strength to dwindle drastically?"
"Do you think that’s likely?"
The group leader responded, "Both biochemical humans exhibited excellent speed, which indicates they’re at their peak. That guy also has a lot of strength, enough to create a large hole in the wall."
"Well...yes..."
The researcher nodded, then shook his head in worrisome, "Group leader, does this mean...that this man possesses formidable power?"
"Correct..."
The group leader sighed, saying, "It appears that we’re in trouble this time. That guy’s strength exceeds our expectations; we won’t stand a chance against them."
"Don’t jump to conclusions too early."
An older researcher said, "It’s only just begun. Who will win is still uncertain."
"I also think we won’t lose."
A younger researcher said, "You should know the power of the biochemical humans; even if that guy is strong, he can’t beat them."
