The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 132: Ch : Threat to the PC Cafe- Part 6
I quietly moved down the stairs to head toward the front door. It was too dark out for anyone to be awake, so I decided to take that risk.
But as soon as I reached the main hall, I could sense someone’s presence standing in front of me.
The presence did not feel hostile, and the pheromones that reached me made me almost melt right where I stood.
"Kyle, I wanted to see you before you left, so I waited for you here."
Theo told me as he walked to a spot that had a little bit of light. My eyesight adjusted to the dark as my skill worked.
The alpha in front of me looked even taller and more intimidating compared to any other time, but I did not feel afraid. I only felt glad that he was standing in front of me currently.
"You don’t have to worry about anything, Theo. I know that you don’t like to see me go into the dungeons, but honestly, it is not so bad this time."
I lied through my teeth because I did not want to worry my alpha.
’My alpha? Have I already started to think of Theo as such?’ 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
I knew the answer better than anyone else, so I decided not to think about it. Instead, I looked past Theo so that I wouldn’t get distracted by his face.
"Hmm, I know I don’t have anything to worry about this time. So... good luck out there. I hope you come back soon."
Theo told me, and I paused as I looked at him.
I felt a pang of disappointment as Theo did not say much to me this time. A part of me was still waiting for him to tell me not to go because it was dangerous.
But there was nothing of that sort this time. The alpha was just calm and collected.
"I-I see. I should head out now."
I felt a little numb, and even I knew that it was wrong of me to feel this way.
Time and time again, Theo had told me not to go and tried to hold me back. But I had not listened to him. So I had no right to ask him to go back to his old self now.
"Hmm, I... please take care of yourself as well. And keep sleeping and also—"
Theo leaned close to me. His hand lightly touched my back, and I tensed while looking at his face. I felt curious about what he would do next.
My patience was rewarded as he reached out toward my face before he placed his lips on top of mine and pressed them softly.
The kiss was so soft that I was not even sure if it actually happened or if I just made it up because I felt desperate.
But what I did know was that it was over before I could verify whether it actually took place or not.
Theo turned around and started walking back to his room.
"Kyle, once you come back, I have things to tell you and confess to you. So please, come back soon, and hopefully, we’ll meet soon. And also, don’t forget that I love you."
The fact that I could not see Theo’s face as he spoke made me feel uncomfortable. Everything in me was telling me to turn Theo around and demand what had him in his current mood.
But I decided against it because that would be unethical of me.
Just like I had things to hide and not want to talk about, Theo also had things he did not want to talk about as well.
He was giving me an opportunity by telling me that we could talk once I was back.
’I don’t know why, but a part of me feels restless because of this. It’s almost as if it’s trying to tell me that Theo won’t be here once I come back.’
I could not explain my feelings properly, but I knew that something was not right here. And I intended to find out what.
"Theo, wait—"
I tried to stop Theo because my instincts told me to. But before I could reach him, I heard the knocking on the café door and then Rhiner’s presence.
That precious second I used to notice that gave Theo enough time to run away, and I was left in an awkward pose trying to stop him.
I could have followed him back up to his room, but I decided not to and instead check up on Rhiner.
"You are finally here."
I told him, and Rhiner looked confused as he looked at me.
"Huh—! You are here? What about Ace? Lynn told me that I needed to pick up Ace from here... don’t tell me—!"
The alpha finally put things together, and I sighed.
"Don’t think too much about it. I am going to use my skill so that others stop paying attention to us and then change in the Luminous guild."
I told the alpha, and he looked too stunned to register what I was telling him.
In the end, I just dragged him back to the Luminous guild before I took his pass for security. They did not stop us as they saw that I had Rhiner with me.
Besides that, I also had the access card Lynn had given me. But I was not going to use it for now.
"You—! Sit here and do not move. I will be back in a second. And for god’s sake, pull yourself together."
I told the alpha as I went to the bathroom to change.
By the time I came back, Rhiner was finally coming to himself, and he blinked as he looked at me dead in the eyes before he asked me anything more.
"Seriously? You’re Ace? And you... never said anything? No wonder Boss Lynn told me and Kesha to cover your shift. And here I thought he was just playing around as usual."
Rhiner told me, his voice still sounding shocked... not that I blamed him for this. But he needed to snap out of it all fast.
