The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 140: Ch : A Whole New World- Part 4
"Y-You are insane-! Do you have any idea what you just did? What if we both died because of your actions? Would you have taken responsibility?"
My guide asked me and I knew that whatever budding relationship we had was buried under the rubble now;
It did not feel nearly as bad as it was supposed to and I attributed it to the fact that we were never close to each other.
Still, her lack of gratitude did sting me a little.
"Can’t you just thank me for saving your life?"
I asked the female and she gritted her teeth in anger.
"Thank you-? What do I thank you for? The only reason my life was in danger was because of you. Ugh-! I am going inside now. You take care of this mess yourself. And if master asks why I am not leading you around, you should tell him that it’s your own fault."
The female quickly left me alone with the assassin. I could tell that she had the lowest opinion of me now.
"Pfff-"
I turned to look at the assassin that made this laughing sound as he looked at me beefing with the female and I felt my eyes twitch for some reason.
"You do realize that laughing at me would only make me more agitated? I won’t agitate the person who has my life in their hand."
I warned the assassin and the man calmed down to give me a blank look.
"Anyway, leaving that aside, I have a few questions for you. Who are you and why did you come after me?"
I had a few theories regarding this, but hearing the news from the source was the best way to make sure I was not making stuff up.
The man looked away for a minute before he answered me.
"I am not sure what you mean by that. You are just my target, nothing more and nothing less."
I got an answer from the assassin, but it was not the one I wanted to hear. So I decided that I would have him speak again. But this time, I would give him a little bit of motivation to speak the words I wanted to hear.
"Ah, is that so? I don’t like the way you are speaking to me. Since you are treating me as a fool, I will treat you like I am a fool as well."
I told the man before I grabbed his dominant hand and broke one of the fingers.
The pain caused the man to cry out and I forced a potion down his throat at the same time.
Even I knew that I had gone a little overboard, but I did not care at the moment. I was annoyed at this man and all the people whom I served today.
And this man just ended up being the one to bear the burden of my fury.
"Tsk, do you think the potion will make me speak? You are a fool-"
The man spoke but stopped halfway. He tried to keep his mouth shut but his mouth forced itself open once more.
"You will die a gruesome death because you angered some important people. It would be better for you to disappear before that. Don’t be a fool and give up... or else..."
The man told me.
I could tell that the assassin did not want to speak at all. And yet, he was forced to speak up because of the potion.
"Why am I... speaking all this...?"
The man asked but I gave him no answer. The more confused he would be, the better it would be for me after all.
However, the assassin was sharp enough to figure out what was happening.
"That potion... it’s making me speak, right? Do you think you will be able to make me spill my secrets if you do this?"
The man asked and I just sighed as I looked at him.
"You are taking this too personally. Anyone would have done the same in my situation if their life was being threatened. I am just making sure I survive here."
I told the man and he flushed at my easy-going way. I had a feeling that we were not going to get along, no matter what happened.
Thankfully, I was not here to get along with this man and he knew that as well.
"Fuck you-! Curse you-! Ugh, do you not fear this world and its leaders? Do you really think you would be able to get away with insulting everyone in that room tonight? I am not the only assassin hired to come after you. You will die soon."
The man told me and I gave him a blank look.
I did have a feeling that this would happen.
But I was too stubborn to die.
"Hmm, I see. I kind of figured that would happen. So, care to tell me who you are?"
I asked the man and he looked taken aback. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"I... who I am? I am an assassin. As for my name... I lost that a long time ago. I no longer recall who I used to be before all this. Ah-! Entering this dungeon ruined me."
The man told me as he lamented about his past and I felt sorry for him.
So I pulled the mask he was wearing away from his face and a somewhat familiar face looked back at me.
’This face... where have I seen it before? I am sure I had seen it before. Ughhh, I am so bad with faces and names.’
The mere fact that the face in front of me looked familiar meant that it was really obvious who this person was.
But due to my inability to recognize faces for the most part, it was hard to figure out whom this man resembled.
"Don’t strain yourself. The world out of here is a huge place. I doubt you would know who I am. After all, I was the son of a humble café working couple... and it has been a long time since I last saw them as well."
