The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 149: Ch : Birth of a King- Part 3
I felt a little warm at the moment, but the discomfort of having people chase me and my current situation overpowered my discomfort.
A small part of my brain tried to speak up to tell me what was wrong with me, but a bigger part of my brain yelled at me to keep running and that now was not the time.
"I will be fine. I am determined enough to ignore whatever is happening to my body and keep going. So there is no need for you to be worried about me."
I told Kuro, but he did not look reassured by my words. If anything, he looked even more hesitant to follow me.
"Kyle, maybe we should get out of this dungeon and come back later. That would be safer to do, right?"
Kuro asked me, and I paused to think about it.
On paper, it did sound like the safest idea to get out of the dungeon and spend 10 days outside. But I had a feeling that it would only cause a dungeon break to happen.
The reward of doing this was not worth the risk I would have to take... or maybe it was my compromised brain thinking that caused me to come to this conclusion.
"Let’s not do that. We have more options, so I would like to explore them first."
I told Kuro, but even I did not recall what these ’other options’ were for now. All I knew was that I needed to keep moving forward and find a safe space.
However, because Kuro had pointed out that I smelled funny, I was now aware of the funny feeling in the pit of my stomach.
’I can ignore it. I do not have time to deal with it. I need to keep moving.’
My willpower kept me going, and Kuro followed me with a startled but resigned expression on his face.
"You are... too much. But fine, if that’s what you want to do, then I will follow your lead. It’s not like I can stop you or anything, even if I want to."
Kuro told me as he followed after me. We reached the huge building in no time, but there were guards placed everywhere that were stopping people from entering.
"Do you think we would be allowed to get inside?"
I asked Kuro, and the cat demon shook his head.
Even the fancily dressed people were being denied entry one after another. The only ones allowed inside were the people who had a pass with their name and initials being scanned with their bio-data.
There was too much security around for me to get in there on my own.
Still, I wanted to go inside at all costs.
"Let me sneak in there and find something that can help us out. You just wait here."
Kuro told me as he stretched and headed toward the building.
Because he was in a small body, it was easy for him to slip inside. I could do nothing but wait here and hope that my mark wouldn’t go off anytime soon.
The discomfort I felt before was becoming more evident, and my body felt just a little bit heavy at the moment. It caused me to pant as I felt my legs become a little weaker.
’Is this one of the side effects of the mark? No, it doesn’t feel like it. It feels more like my body wants to shut down and not work. I want to fall asleep so badly.’
Unfortunately, I was not in a safe place, and I had to keep myself awake not to fall asleep.
__________
"What the hell is this place? It feels more like a maze than a hotel. Just where is the bathroom?"
Kuro complained as he travelled around the duct before he emerged on the other side. As soon as he emerged, he darted toward the stall before he could be spotted.
And he took a human form once he was sure he was safe.
"Alright, this should be alright. Now, I need to start looking for something that can help Kyle out."
Kuro was doing all this because his master had asked him to look after Kyle. It was now in his instincts to want to help Kyle and obey his orders.
’Liar. You are going this far because you like Kyle beyond your orders as well. That human grew on you, right?’
A part of Kuro asked, but he quickly shook his head to get rid of it. That was not a safe thought to have, especially when his master had already laid claim on Kyle.
Trying anything funny would only get him killed.
And speaking of master, Kuro could sense his presence faintly in this dungeon. So he followed his senses and found himself in a densely packed room.
Kuro somehow made his way to the other side and watched a marked person who felt exactly like his master and Rhiner’s familiar silhouette together.
"Looks like my Lord is here after all... and that hunter as well. What is he doing in here?"
Kuro was more shocked to see Rhiner here than his Lord. After all, they had left Rhiner behind because he would be in danger.
Had he disregarded what Kyle said and come here anyway? What should Kuro do now? Report it back to Kyle or something?
Before he could finish thinking, he felt a pair of eyes looking at him. His master was telling him to come close, and Kuro sighed before he headed over.
"Master, it is an honor to see you here."
Kuro bowed in front of his Lord, his body stiff and posture perfect. He was not going to be found lacking by his master.
"Hmm, so it’s you, Kuro? If you are here, then does that mean your charge is here as well? Did they not come inside with you?"
Kuro’s master asked. Kuro had a feeling his master already knew everything but was just testing his loyalty to his mission.
"My charge’s condition is... a little compromised at the moment. Maybe you should take a look after all, Master."
