The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 159: Ch : Helping With Heat- Part 5
The alpha in front of me seemed open to telling me anything and everything I wanted to know about him and what was going on.
But despite that, I could not bring myself to ask the important question. My instincts were telling me that this man, despite all my worries and suspicions, was Theo.
He was the alpha I had imprinted on...
’Shit-! I...really-? I thought it was a one-way thing...no, I cannot be taken in by my thoughts right now. I need to focus.’
I slapped my cheeks to bring myself back and gave the alpha a searching look. He looked back at me as well, his gaze cool and not worried.
"So, you want me to believe that you are Theo. Fine, I will believe you and also believe that you awakened and decided to follow me around. But even if I ignore all these suspicious things, how can I believe that you are here on my side?"
I asked, and for the first time, the smile on Theo’s face faded.
He looked serious when he looked at me, and I felt my breath hitch as he walked toward me.
"I would never do anything to hurt you. I am not that kind of person, and you know it. Besides, I am in love with you. I was yours from the first time I saw you. Everything I do is for your sake."
The alpha assured me, and he sounded so sincere that I felt my ears go warm. I had to look away from the alpha so as not to be taken in by his beauty.
But it was tough since it felt like the alpha was everywhere.
"Alright...I...believe you. So, what are you planning to do next? What do you know about this dungeon?"
I asked, and the alpha looked relieved to hear me speak and believe him.
"About that...this place feels like somewhere where a new high priest is going to be born. I plan on having the place eat itself before it can start to break apart into the human world. And to do that, I need your help."
Theo told me, but I had a feeling he asked for my help more for my own sake than his own. He felt like someone who could take care of the whole situation alone if he wanted to.
Not that I was going to ask him any extra questions regarding this. I had a feeling that the less I asked him, the better it would be for our relationship.
"Alright, let’s head in now. Is there anything else you want to ask of me? Don’t you have questions for me?"
The alpha asked me, and I had a ton of questions to ask.
But when I opened my mouth, none of those questions came out of my mouth. They felt stuck in my throat, which felt dry.
The alpha noticed this and chuckled.
"I see. So you have nothing to ask me, huh. Don’t worry. I’m sure you will have plenty of questions soon. For now, we should rest. Your body needs to catch a break. And I also want to check up on something."
The alpha closed his eyes before his aura changed. He became more gentle and clumsy, his eyes looking weary as he looked around before they looked at me and shined.
Looking at those eyes told me that I was back home with my alpha. My gentle Theo was back, and he looked as confused as I did.
"Kyle...what is...? I-I am sorry! I did not mean to keep anything from you. This was not supposed to happen, and I—"
Theo sounded confused and scared. He was even shivering, trying to hold himself together. So I quickly placed a hand on his cheek to force him to look my way.
"It’s fine. You don’t need to worry about a thing. I don’t know what’s going on with you or what you are going through, but I have a feeling it will all be fine. You don’t have to worry."
I assured the alpha, and he calmed down slowly as he blinked back at me.
"I...thank you. You are far too kind to even someone like me, Kyle. I wish I could always stay with you and keep things as they are."
Theo spoke to me in a tired voice. He sounded a little sad as well when he spoke.
I wanted to comfort him, but I could not bring myself to reassure him. I did not know whether things would turn out alright or not in the end.
All I could do was be there for Theo and help him go through his hard times.
"Things would be just fine. You do not have to worry about even a single thing. I am sure you will get through this. And if you ever need an ear to listen to, then I am here."
I had so many questions for Theo, but one look at him was enough to make me quiet down and allow him to be.
All my suspicions, all my anger and rage and needing to ask him what was going on was going out of the window.
For now, all that mattered was the fact that Theo was here and he trusted me. And I wanted to do everything in my power to help him.
’But why? This alpha is so suspicious. No matter how you look at him, he is hiding so much. And his power...isn’t that too dangerous? But the system has not warned us.’
Theo had found his way to this dungeon and to me. He had also made sure to save me more than once.
No matter how I looked at it, it was far too suspicious. And yet, my heart refused to believe that Theo was a bad person or would harm me.
It kept telling me that Theo was someone I could not let go of no matter what.
And that was why I felt conflicted about what to do next. Was Theo an ally or an enemy?
