The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 170: Ch : This is goodbye- Part 5
"If you wake up one day and find out that your whole life was a lie, what would you do? And how would you feel? But whatever you do decide to do, just remember—the other side had their reasons as well."
The entity told me before it began to fade away. I could do nothing but watch that happen. Before I knew it, the entity and the space around me began to collapse.
"In the end, I feel like I have more questions compared to answers."
I complained as I watched the space collapse and the dungeon slowly came back. People clutched their throats as they tried to speak or hold on to their senses. But the world around them was devouring their strength.
And now, it was up to me to take care of this mess.
"I have a lot I still need to uncover. But first, I should take care of this dungeon and the core."
The pulsing sphere had risen to the top of the dungeon, and its aura was changing the city. I saw a familiar figure heading toward me from my right.
Edwin was not that far, and he staggered to get to me.
"Y-You need to get out of here...I-I won’t survive for long, but I can... cough protect you..."
The man promised as he almost fell down twice. A part of his body looked contaminated by whatever was going on.
I felt bad for him and the others around me. They were all struggling so badly that I wanted to help them out.
But to do that, I needed to finish the dungeon.
"It’s fine. You do not need to help me out. I can take the dungeon and the high priest from here. You all should take care of yourself."
I told the infected alpha, and he looked scared for his fate. But I had no need to be afraid. I took in a deep breath before I let my senses guide me. It was time for me to use my power to the fullest.
[Warning: user is taking off limiters. Energy threshold about to reach dangerous territories. It can cause permanent damage to the user...]
The voice told me as the beeping sound got louder. My heart skipped a beat as I felt the world around me narrow down around my senses and my power.
’How dreadful. This surge feels like it wants to rip me apart. But I need to endure.’
The power in my chest was clashing violently. It made me almost collapse before I caught myself. I could not allow myself to fall here.
At least, not yet.
My familiars covered as much space as they could. They pushed the bodies trying to get close to me back and put them all to sleep.
Even walking felt difficult when I had so much energy radiating from inside me, and everything in the dungeon seemed to be stepping away from me, now suddenly afraid.
"That’s right. You should be afraid of me. Otherwise, you all will suffer my wrath."
I told the dungeon, but there was no response. Not that I expected a response so soon anyway. What I intended to do was crush the dungeon as soon as possible.
"Let’s go—"
My body moved like wind as I dodged the people that managed to push past my familiars in order to get to me. I even exploded small familiars, not to hurt these people but to push them back.
But since the number was a little bigger than I expected and this strategy did not work very well, I changed it to another—using a small amount of sleep powder to get these people to back off.
And that worked wonders. Bodies collapsed around me until it was just me and that glowing orb in front of me.
"It’s time to finish this." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
I told the orb as I took out a silver weapon from my inventory. The scythe shined in my hands, and power coursed through it.
The scythe was raised high before I brought it down on the entity in front of me. It struck the energy sphere before it began to crack it. But before it could go all the way through, I felt it strike something.
And that something grabbed my scythe before it tried to pull me closer. I felt stuck for a second, not knowing whether I wanted to pull back or push forward.
The crack widened, and soon, a hand emerged from behind the screen. It reached for my scythe, wanting to pull it away. The formless black mass slowly took a human shape, and a pair of inhuman eyes met me.
’Oh no—! The high priest has been born—!’
After almost ten years, this dungeon seemed to have achieved its goal—to produce a high priest. I could feel power rolling off the form in front of me.
I clutched my scythe tighter, and the high priest quickly let go of my scythe before he rolled his shoulders and looked around.
"So...this is the outside world? Finally, I am free. You...have my thanks for breaking me free. But unfortunately, you need to be put down for the sake of my master."
The high priest spoke softly, and his voice sounded pretty as well. He...also looked similar to me, and I had no doubt that if he had a secondary gender, he would be an omega as well.
His words were arrogant, and I felt myself scoff at them.
"Oh really—! You think you can kill me? Then go ahead, kid. Come and try to kill me."
I accepted the challenge that was being given to me. I had no intention of backing down. Especially not when the person in front of me seemed fixated on the very idea.
He raised his hand, and I felt tense. I waited for that attack to come as soon as the newly born high priest brought his hands down.
But the attack did not come from the front, but the back, taking me by surprise. I had seconds to react.
