The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 117: Forced to Search for the Key
When Maya Monroe emerged from the tent, she caught quite a few people’s attention.
The staff immediately pointed the camera at her: "Ms. Monroe, you’re finally out!"
Maya slightly tidied her hair and nodded lightly.
Suddenly exposed to sunlight, Maya raised her hand to shade her eyes, reducing the discomfort from the glare.
The staff’s eyes lit up and they asked her: "Ms. Monroe, are you planning to look for the gold key now?"
"It’s too boring here, I don’t want to stay." She didn’t deny it.
The staff became extremely excited; Maya had been refusing to leave the tent, and the five-member team was progressing slowly, struggling even with survival, let alone finding the key. The program team had been distressed about this for a long time, and they were considering lowering the difficulty of finding the key since they couldn’t keep guests stranded in the rainforest indefinitely.
Unexpectedly, Maya brought such a surprise: she finally came out of the tent and was ready to act!
Maya is incredibly smart, and with just a little guidance, this matter could be instantly resolved.
Maya didn’t know what the staff was thinking; she just felt the sun was too strong and wasn’t in a good mood.
In such a hot and humid environment, having to find some broken key!
Maya asked again: "There hasn’t been any news of the gold key all this time, right?"
Talking about this, the staff also became dejected: "Jamie and his group have already taken action, but the clues they’ve found are very limited so far."
Although Jamie desperately wanted to complete the task and shine in front of the camera, they were struggling even with meals now, let alone having time to explore further.
Maya’s eyes rolled: "From what I see, since this gold key is so hard to find, why not just cancel this setup? How can we stay in this broken place indefinitely? Having been away from home for so long, the guests must all be homesick..."
When she said this, there was a faint twinkle in Maya’s eyes.
She really wanted to persuade the program team; if the key search segment could be omitted, it would be ideal, sparing her from suffering and flying straight back home to enjoy life.
The staff were stunned; when they heard Maya bring up the key topic, they thought she had come to her senses and wanted to extract some crucial information from the program team to perform well and gain fans. Who would have guessed that her true intention was to propose canceling the key search to go home early?
And the other guests missing home... was it not she who wanted to go home? Other guests are trying various ways to boost their popularity, eager to show themselves in front of the camera.
Haven’t acted yet but started retreating, wanting to slack off and end the show - probably only Maya Monroe...
The staff unhesitatingly rejected Maya’s proposal: "These are the rules set by the program team long ago, and they cannot be casually changed."
If the fixed rules were really changed, who knows how the show would be mocked by the audience. Moreover, the program hasn’t gotten its desired "boom points" yet, and it can’t end hastily.
Maya frowned, not planning to give up. She unwillingly continued to persuade: "Didn’t I say, your program team shouldn’t be too rigid; adapting appropriately can bring unexpected gains!"
She tried to scrape together reasons from her mind to persuade the program team, her voice becoming louder.
However, the staff saw Maya with one hand in her pocket, looking lazy and content; her posture was too relaxed, decidedly unreliable. How could the program team really take her seriously?
"Ms. Monroe, the rules cannot be changed!"
Maya’s smile faded slightly but she didn’t get too entangled.
That’s just the way she is; upon knowing there’s no room for maneuver, she’d give up, not waste time continuing.
Maya reached out to tighten her cuff; there were too many mosquitoes here, forcing her to take extra precautions.
[Kiddo: It’s the first time I’ve heard Maya Monroe talk so much and so earnestly, but who would’ve thought she spoke so much just to persuade the program team to abandon the key search... when other guests were eating steamed buns, they never considered giving up the chance to perform. Man, Maya really hates staying here...]
[Maya: Maya, don’t go, I still want to watch you a bit longer!]
[RainbowCandyIsMine: Hahaha everyone knows Maya excels and is very passionate in the art of slacking!]
[WowWow: Is Maya baby unable to stay anymore? It’s indeed tough here, poor Maya...]
Maya saw Jessica Young and Jamie Miller from afar; they seemed to have just returned from finding food.
She only glanced and withdrew her gaze. She genuinely didn’t expect these five to be so lackluster; so much time passed and they hadn’t found a single clue, and she still had to come out and search for the key!
Maya sighed and continued walking forward.
Justin Morgan’s leg seemed much better, able to move freely, though slightly limping with difficulty in walking.
Facing Justin Morgan, Maya didn’t want to engage him at all, her gaze not resting on him in the slightest.
When Justin saw Maya, his leg slightly trembled, as if the pain still lingered. Nonetheless, this time he didn’t stir up trouble like before but instead moved a few steps in the opposite direction.
He fears Maya...
He’s deeply afraid of Maya...
The last incident left Justin with a very deep psychological shadow with no chance of healing.
Justin thought Maya would come to embarrass him, especially since he had offended Maya a while ago and was now in absolute disadvantage.
But to his surprise, Maya brushed past him without even sparing a glance, as if he was trash unworthy of attention...
Justin quietly clenched his fist, unable to utter what emotions filled his heart.
Maya briskly walked forward, this time not running but still maintaining a fast pace.
Maya squinted slightly, appearing lazy all over, yet her gaze continuously surveyed the surroundings.
Her mind rapidly processed, memorizing the route she walked.
If the program team really scattered clue cards throughout the entire rainforest, that would be too unrealistic. Not to mention the difficulty, they couldn’t possibly throw such a huge challenge to the guests.
Given the program team had already "drawn a circle", the so-called clue cards should be hidden within this fixed area.
Maya’s plan gradually took shape in her mind, filling step by step within her thoughts.
