The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 21: Madeline Underwood
"Hey, Ryan, how come? Here to visit Maya Monroe’s set?"
Madeline Underwood still held flowers sent by fans, wearing a beige long-trench coat, her long wavy curls cascading over her shoulders.
Her features were stunning, different from Maya Monroe, as she’d had cosmetic surgery, with widened eyes and slightly fuller lips, adding a touch of sensuality.
Ryan Spencer smiled at her, neither excessively warm nor too cold, a very polite smile: "Are you here to shoot today?"
Madeline Underwood nodded, revealing a smile, and her tone instinctively showed a hint of pride: "I was invited to shoot a few scenes, but it won’t take too long. You know, my schedule is quite full, not as carefree as Maya Monroe’s."
"If your acting is outstanding, naturally every day is carefree and without worry. If I remember correctly, you also auditioned for ’Luna’, right?"
Madeline Underwood’s smile froze, and after a while she said, "It was just because I slept with some men to get the role. Do you think I care?"
Ryan Spencer was not at all provoked, maintaining a faint smile: "Having filmed so much, you shouldn’t be short of money to buy grapes. Eat more."
"You...!!"
Ryan Spencer was actually mocking her for saying the grapes were sour because she couldn’t have them. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Madeline Underwood paused and suddenly said, "Ryan, up until today, have you ever regretted your choice? You confidently brought along a brainless flower pillow!"
Ryan Spencer said indifferently, "There’s no need for you to worry about that."
Madeline Underwood found it amusing, thinking even if Maya Monroe got the role, what of it, she wouldn’t play it well, and wouldn’t she get criticized?
After Maya Monroe changed into her costume, she saw Ryan Spencer’s figure and walked straight over.
Madeline Underwood sized up Maya Monroe; recently Maya had joined the set to film, yet her recent photos hadn’t circulated.
Madeline Underwood hadn’t anticipated that Maya Monroe would undergo such a transformation.
She no longer wore smoky makeup, and her clothes and accessories didn’t look mismatched.
Her hair was covered with a scarf, adding a touch of softness.
Softness...?
Madeline Underwood belatedly realized, why would she use such a word to describe Maya Monroe? Madeline had studied the script and knew Luna was an initially gentle and shy character, but who convinced Maya to follow the crew’s arrangement and change into this outfit?
"Maya Monroe, long time no see."
Maya Monroe glanced at her and instantly recognized the woman in front of her. Maya faintly smiled, raising an eyebrow: "Long time no see."
Maya Monroe’s voice had a nonchalant tone that was surprisingly more oppressive than Madeline Underwood’s.
"No matter how you got the role, I wish you never crash, even if your performance is terrible, that you won’t get cursed by the audience!"
"I appreciate your good wishes," still in a lazy tone.
Maya Monroe turned to Ryan Spencer: "Ryan, let’s go over there to chat for a bit, why waste time here?"
Watching their departing figures, Madeline Underwood’s eyes grew darker.
Suddenly, a crew assistant ran over: "Sister, you’ve waited long, I’ll take you for styling first."
Madeline Underwood immediately smiled: "Look at you, running and sweating all over, I won’t blame you. Here, wipe your sweat."
Accepting the paper towel Madeline handed over, the crew assistant secretly thought Madeline was as easy-going as the rumors said.
Just as described in the plot, Maya Monroe soon saw Kiki Monroe and Madeline Underwood getting along well.
"Turns out you’re a Southlight graduate too, that means you should call me senior sister."
Kiki Monroe shyly lowered her head, and slowly said, "Senior sister..."
Madeline Underwood took the script from her hand and placed it on a chair: "Don’t keep reading the script all day, your health is most important. I’ve seen your performances before, your acting is very outstanding, it makes me ashamed."
Kiki Monroe hurriedly said: "Senior sister, where are you saying these words from, when it comes to acting, how can I compare to you? You’ve been a big star for years, and I’m... I’m... just a minor one!"
"Your performances have a spark, yet you are also hardworking, so stop being modest."
Kiki Monroe didn’t refute again, truthfully she was quite receptive to her words.
While filming, Madeline Underwood pulled Kiki Monroe to watch the excitement.
"I just heard you say Maya Monroe is your sister, are you serious? I mean... someone like her can’t possibly have a sister as talented as you."
Kiki Monroe suppressed her smile: "Well? Actually, my sister is really capable. Not only did she get the role of Luna, but her social skills are excellent, she’s on very good terms with Director Morgan!"
Kiki Monroe only heard Madeline Underwood’s cold snicker.
"Maya Monroe isn’t as good as you say, you’re still too naive. Whenever I see you, I’m reminded of myself... I used to be as naive as you, such a pity..." Madeline Underwood didn’t finish speaking, her venomous eyes resting on the distant Maya Monroe.
"I really apologize for bringing up things that hurt you."
Madeline Underwood chuckled: "It’s nothing, let’s watch Maya Monroe’s performance! She’s bound to be amazing!"
Madeline saw Maya Monroe still holding the script, and couldn’t help but ask: "Since when has Maya Monroe become so diligent?"
"Huh? Sister melts into the script on site."
"Into the script on site?" Madeline Underwood gave a disdainful laugh: "She’s as promising as ever, speaking one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, I’ll see what progress she’s made over these years!"

Maya Monroe handed the script to Scott. The people around were already familiar with her on-site script immersion.
Scott witnessed Maya Monroe’s remarkable transformation firsthand, clenching his fist encouragingly: "Sis, go for it!"
Today’s challenging scene involved Luna discovering her parents’ brutal murder after selling herbs, focusing on portraying despair.
Shane Morgan confirmed again, "After this scene, there’s a hunt scene, for realism, you’ll be pushed down a certain slope, and when you roll and crawl on the ground, there’s bound to be bumps. Will you use a stunt double?"
The current actors often avoid hardships, so Shane Morgan asked again.
Maya Monroe shook her head: "Just a roll, no need for a double."
Another reason was that she and the double swapping back and forth would only waste time, it’s better to handle it herself, finishing early to end early.
Shane Morgan looked at her, nodding repeatedly: "I knew I didn’t misjudge you. If there’s any discomfort, don’t push yourself."
Thinking of the false rumors about Maya Monroe being a diva, Shane Morgan felt they were complete nonsense.
