Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Interaction

Maya remembered that Serena Sawyer played a significant role in this drama, so they would have plenty of time to spend together.

The phone rang; Maya was certain that this English song ringtone was definitely not coming from her own phone.

Serena Sawyer pulled out her phone from her bag, glanced at the name on the screen, and couldn’t help but smile.

She looked up and said to Maya, "Sorry, I need to take a call."

Maya nodded, "Go ahead."

"I’ll be right back." With that, she bent down and got out of the car.

From the front seat, Ryan Spencer glanced outside the car, then smiled at Maya, "I didn’t know you and Serena were on such good terms."

Maya casually nodded, "We’ve bumped into each other quite a few times. After a while, we got familiar with each other."

Ryan pondered and nodded, "Serena’s quite famous right now; being friends with her is a good move. But she usually has a reserved personality and likes to be unique. So, why is she calling you a friend?"

He spoke while slightly shaking his head, "Maybe it’s my occupational habit kicking in, after all she lacks nothing; fame, fortune, and family, she already has them."

Maya leisurely said, "I don’t make friends based on their fame, just whether we click."

"I’m getting along well with Serena right now, and that’s enough. As for later...let’s leave later for later."

Ryan murmured, "You’re quite open-minded..."

Maya picked up her glass and took a sip. Suddenly, her expression stiffened as she chewed and swallowed the wolfberry in her mouth.

Her face turned exceptionally unpleasant, "How can something taste this awful, such a weird taste..."

"Did you swallow the wolfberry?" Ryan asked.

Maya slowly nodded, the strange sweet taste still lingering on her tongue.

"How did you end up with wolfberry in your drink? Probably Scott forgot to add the filter, remind him to be cautious next time..."

Just as Ryan finished his sentence, they heard footsteps approaching from outside the car.

It was Serena returning.

Her fingers tightly clenched her phone, and from her tightly pressed lips, one could tell she wasn’t in a good mood.

Maya put down her glass, "What’s wrong? You don’t look well."

Serena sat down next to Maya again, forcing a smile from the corners of her mouth.

"There’s a bit of personal stuff that’s not going well."

Serena didn’t go into detail, and Maya didn’t plan to pry. She simply pulled a candy out of her pocket and placed it in front of Serena.

Serena stared at the colorful wrapper for a moment before slowly picking it up, "Why are you giving me this?"

"Because it’s all I have."

"Just sitting here can get boring, have some candy—it’ll lift your spirits."

It was a kind of indirect comfort.

Serena lowered her eyebrows and softly said, "Thank you."

This reunion didn’t last long, as Serena had quite a few scenes scheduled to shoot soon.

Before leaving, Serena proactively asked to take a photo with Maya.

"I’m planning to post it on Weibo, would you mind?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Maya waved her hand, "I don’t mind."

After all, it’s just a photo.

Maya wasn’t used to being close to others, her slender fingers slightly tensed.

Serena gave a light smile, no longer putting her arm around Maya’s shoulder, just moving her face closer.

"I took a few photos; I’ll send them to you later. You can also post on Weibo, Maya."

Hearing the way she was addressed, Maya slowly looked up, "Got it, you go on ahead then."

"If you need anything, just message me."

Even though she rarely checked her messages.

Serena smiled, her charming dimples showing.

"Wait!" Ryan urgently stopped Maya.

Maya’s fingers halted over the edit panel, she looked up, "What is it?"

"You can’t just post it like that," Ryan said helplessly.

"Then how should I post it? Isn’t it just adding the picture? Or shouldn’t it be posted on the feed?"

"No." Ryan explained, "Have you seen any celebrity post an unedited photo directly from the camera? You gotta edit it a bit."

Maya, who had account management rights, often posted "disastrous" updates at random, almost always taken and posted the next second from the camera, with photo angles that could only be described as "straight as a rod."

To her, there was no such thing as filters or photo editing, and she didn’t know how to use even the basic features of social media, like a primitive person.

Maya gave up editing, "Alright, you handle it then."

Seeing Maya not insisting further, Ryan let out a sigh of relief, "This saves you some trouble. Professional matters are best left to professionals."

Ryan took a look at Maya’s phone, and to his surprise, Serena’s photos turned out great.

Ryan signaled Maya to take another look, "Photography is also a skill; if you really want to take pictures, you should learn it properly."

Is just taking a photo this complicated?

Maya nodded casually, "Alright, I get it."

Maya browsed through Weibo; suddenly a notification popped up, it turned out that Serena Sawyer had followed her.

Maya followed back.

Seeing her follower count, Maya was surprised, "I didn’t realize I had so many followers..."

million.

Ryan leaned over, "What’s so surprising about that? Shows like ’Great Survival Challenge’ are always great at attracting followers."

Maya nodded.

She noticed some familiar followers, like Leo Lancaster, Shane Morgan, and quite a few celebrities like Miles Wallace all followed her, and her account had followed them back, presumably managed by the team.

Ryan added beside her, "You must keep a clear distinction between your public and private accounts. For watching your favorite food videos, use a private account to avoid being randomly written about by gossip accounts."

"Understood."
