Chapter 232: Chapter 232: If Anything Happens, Contact Me

Scott turned his head and saw Ian Rowe, greeting him with a restrained expression: "Mr. Rowe, hello..."

Ian Rowe nodded slightly: "Hello."

Maya Monroe just remembered there was a scene in the afternoon; it was only when Scott reminded her that she instantly realized.

Maya wasn’t in a hurry to leave. She looked at Ian Rowe: "Honey, I have a scene to shoot, so I’ll go first. We’ve seen pretty much everything here, you should go back and get to work too!"

"Not too busy." His expression showed a slight change: "Let’s go, I’ll go with you."

Maya was a little surprised; she knew Ian Rowe was usually very busy, and didn’t expect him to have so much free time today.

Since he suggested so, it was difficult for her to refuse.

"Okay, you can come along."

This scene was set in a KTV, and Maya only needed to express Jane Jennings’ insecurity and feeling of being out of place.

The makeup on Maya’s face made her look quite different, yet her allure remained the same. Her beautiful eyes seemed to draw people into a bottomless vortex, leaving them unable to extricate themselves.

Rather than supervising the process from behind the camera, Yvonne Hall felt that what was happening with Ian Rowe was more important. She handed over her work to another director on set.

"Mr. Rowe, are you here to watch Maya perform?"

Ian Rowe sat leisurely in his seat, slightly turned his head to nod at her, then his gaze returned to Maya.

"What’s the genre of your drama?"

Yvonne sat next to him and explained, "It’s a modern female-led drama."

"Female-led?"

Considering that Ian Rowe never dabbled in films, Yvonne explained more carefully: "It’s a drama focusing on the female protagonist as the core of the plot, leading her to the pinnacle of life. Our drama emphasizes the growth journey of the female protagonist, with almost no depiction of romance."

Ian Rowe squinted his eyes, thinking of something, and praised, "It’s a good drama."

Yvonne smiled wider, then suddenly heard Ian Rowe’s voice: "I can add another investment."

Yvonne exclaimed in surprise, "Mr. Rowe..."

Ian Rowe glanced sideways, his fingers tapping a few times on the armrest of the chair. His fingers were long and slender, still shining with a cool white luster under the sunlight.

"I think Mrs. Hall should understand the purpose of my investment, it’s not for profit."

His voice remained casual, as if just chatting leisurely. But Yvonne knew clearly this was a warning from Ian Rowe. She wiped the cold sweat oozing from her forehead.

"Of course..."

"I think Mrs. Hall should already understand my meaning. I don’t want to see a second occurrence of today’s bad situation."

His voice was slow, showing no sign of anger on his face, and his lips still had a slight smile.

However, Yvonne was drenched in cold sweat, perhaps this was the terrifying aspect of Ian Rowe.

Yvonne nodded, responding, "I assure you, I will ensure an incident like this never happens again."

"Just assurance might not be enough."

Yvonne froze, then opened her eyes wide: "What do you mean?"

Ian Rowe’s eyes remained calm, cold and harmless.

Today’s scene wasn’t particularly challenging, yet it was rare for Maya to be a bit distracted.

Because Ian Rowe’s gaze on her was too blatant, fiery. It lingered like that of a lover.

After completing the scene, Maya almost sighed in relief. She thought no one could remain unaffected under such an unmistakable gaze.

Ian Rowe replaced Scott, putting a thin jacket over her shoulders: "The weather is getting cooler, make sure not to catch a cold."

Maya replied vaguely.

"This is my first time on set."

Maya looked at him: "How does it feel?"

"Very novel, very exciting."

"Exciting?"

He did not answer, only a slight spark of amusement appeared in his eyes: "So this is how you act in films."

"Doesn’t it feel boring to watch it? After all, the unedited version surely can’t be as exciting as on television." 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Ian Rowe slowly shook his head.

Around six o’clock in the evening, Maya escorted Ian Rowe out.

Before leaving, Ian Rowe left her with his usual words:

"If you encounter any difficulties, don’t hesitate to contact me."

His eyes were still dark, yet a gentle light shone within, as if he could drown in a lake reflecting the moonlight.

*

"Kiki, I always admired your acting before. I really didn’t expect to be in the same drama group with you. There are many things I don’t understand, and I really need to learn from you."

"Kiki, look at this script. I think it’s hard to convey the emotions here."

"Kiki, your acting is just too good! No wonder you won the Best Newcomer Award! Director Wright’s temper was a bit off just now, don’t mind it too much."

...

Kiki Monroe nodded as instructed, taking the script and analyzing logically: "Here, hmm... I think it should be expressed with more excitement."

The other person looked very receptive: "Thank you, Kiki."

Kiki smiled and said, "You’re welcome, feel free to come to me with any questions. I’m not someone who is stingy with guidance."

Walking with the assistant towards the dressing room, with the compliments from those earlier, Kiki felt the air smelled sweet.

Indeed, without Maya, everything was a lot better. Now that Maya wasn’t here, she felt like a fish in water. Although there were a few annoying little fish, they didn’t affect anything.

The only dissatisfaction was that her relationship with Charles Wright was getting increasingly tense.

Because of previously ditching him, Charles Wright had long been discontent with her. Even though she regained the opportunity to act later, his patience had worn thin, and it seemed to be escalating.

Kiki Monroe let out a frustrated sigh.

Charles Wright’s temperament was definitely bad. Initially, he begged her to act, and now he was displeased with her?

If it wasn’t for her, he might not have been able to secure so many investments, so why was he dissatisfied with her?

Kiki shifted her gaze and happened to see the two people she least wanted to encounter:

Charles Wright and Eric Rowe.

The two seemed to be having a delightful conversation, with Charles Wright’s eyes crinkling with laughter. Eric Rowe was also smiling, his tall figure appearing slightly humble.

Kiki’s heart skipped a beat, grumbling: "Such bad luck."

Kiki looked up again, only to find Eric Rowe already bidding farewell to Charles Wright and heading in her direction.

Kiki pressed her lips tightly.

It was unclear why, but she often ran into Eric Rowe on the same sets, and they had also encountered each other several times during commercial shoots.

Kiki’s initial impression of Eric Rowe was quite positive; after all, he was handsome and came from a wealthy family.

But with each occasion of being troubled and sarcastically remarked by him, Kiki’s feelings were no longer merely the sense of being underappreciated.

The more frequent the encounters, the deeper this revulsion grew.
