The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 80: Season 1 Island Survival
"No need to be so scared. The bridge will straighten itself at the end of the boat. As long as you don’t starve or die of thirst, that’s survival."
Nina Vance’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Maya Monroe. Her gaze showed admiration because Maya’s words seemed quite philosophical, and she spoke with the demeanor of a big boss, which made Nina instinctively trust her a bit more.
She had heard a lot of negative rumors about Maya, but after so many years in the industry, Nina always believed in seeing to believe. Only by genuinely interacting and getting to know someone could she make a judgment. In this circle, things aren’t just black and white; there are too many dark and dirty secrets.
"Maya, you’re amazing... What you said is so philosophical!"
"Sister?" Maya was taken aback by the other’s affectionate tone and admiring gaze.
Maya didn’t have many other skills, but because of completing tasks in various worlds, her ability to talk nonsense had reached its peak.
Nina, however, misunderstood her meaning: "I am 22 this year, a year younger than you, so calling you sister should be fine, right?"
"Suit yourself." Maya really didn’t care about this. It was just a small show irrelevant to the plot’s development. If it weren’t for Ryan Spencer’s insistence and having to stay in character, she wouldn’t come here to suffer!
Who has nothing better to do than come here to suffer? Rich people call this ’experiencing life’ or ’sophistication’ when they have nothing better to do. But someone like her, who has just escaped misery, would be foolish to want to go through it again.
The more Maya thought about it, the angrier she got. Finally, she just closed her eyes. If it were a usual day, she would be relaxing while watching her food channel.
Was it Chef Liu or Chef Wang hosting the show today... What’s the main dish today? Buddha Jumps Over the Wall... It appeared before, Beggar’s Chicken... Seems like it too.
Nina watched as Maya closed her eyes, her long eyelashes casting shadows on her eyelids. Her features were pronounced yet cool. On a man’s face, such features would be handsome, but Maya’s face had a soft and smooth contour, which softened the masculinity, and her peach blossom eyes were indeed alluring when open.
Nina stared blankly for a while, feeling that there wasn’t a single part of Maya that wasn’t perfect. Her features, whether looked at individually or together, were flawless, without a single blemish. Maya used to wear heavy makeup and bold lipstick, but now that she took off her makeup, her beautiful features were no longer hidden.
[Name is the hardest: My goodness, Maya captured Nina’s heart straight away, and look at Nina, she’s already treating Maya as the boss?]
[Urula Circle: Maya really has changed so much!]
[Beef is delicious: Maya’s style is not quite as I imagined!]
[Fairy Bun Bun: Is Miles Wallace still asleep? Honey, wake up! If you don’t, all your fans will be gone!]
[Mo Mo Mo: He’s not sleeping; it seems he’s listening to music. I feel like he’s just closing his eyes and getting lost in the music, hahaha. Even if Wallace does nothing, I’ll still support him!]
[mum: Wallace? Hahaha, I love him too!]
When the notification came that they had reached their destination, Maya finally opened her eyes. She had accidentally fallen asleep just now, hadn’t gotten enough rest, and wasn’t in a good mental state, already on the verge of irritability.
This was an old bad habit of hers: waking up grumpy with serious irritability if she wasn’t fully rested.
Nina worriedly asked Maya, "Maya, are you feeling unwell?"
"Just didn’t wake up properly."
Jessica Young rushed to get off the plane before Maya, brushing past Maya’s arm as she walked by.
Just as she was about to walk past Maya, Maya suddenly turned around, her beautiful eyes filled with irritation, looking uncontrollable and difficult to provoke.
"In such a hurry? Why don’t I just throw you down?"
Jessica felt intimidated for no reason, and didn’t dare speak for a moment, unsure whether it was Maya’s imposing presence or the threat in her words that got to her.
Jessica had worked with Maya before. Although Maya had a bad temper, she was not very bright, and as long as you went around in circles, Maya couldn’t react in time and could easily be fooled. But now... Why did Maya become so frightening?
The group got off the plane, facing a deserted island as far as the eye could see, with fine sand underfoot and the vast sea nearby, only a few scattered coconut trees in sight.
Everyone frowned, unable to believe what they were seeing, not expecting the show crew was actually serious.
The guide appeared before them once again, "Welcome to our destination, ’Sorlis Island’, located at the southernmost point of Celestia, where your task is to survive on this uninhabited island for two days and one night!" He paused before joking, "The recording process on this deserted island is completely under the control of the program team. Additionally, this island won’t have any life-threatening poisonous plants or wild animals, so please rest assured! If you’re afraid of the unknown, there’s no need to worry, as millions of viewers streaming live will be with you all the way!"
Justin Morgan was the first to complain, "Really? Starting with isolated survival? I thought it would be like a farm stay!"
Jessica could hardly keep her facial expressions under control, nearly tossing away her gentle persona, stating, "Can you really survive in this desolate place? Is this a joke?"
She only thought about gaining popularity when she saw the first season of "Great Survival Challenge" on the screen, without any particular feelings. But upon actually experiencing this desolate island, she felt like she was going to break down. Had she known this, she wouldn’t have captured this opportunity at all costs in the beginning.
Remembering the various trending topics from season one, and even the scandal of celebrities being scared into wetting their pants, she felt a chill down her spine.
Nina stood closely next to Maya.
In fact, Maya’s expression was the most entertaining, as the words that popped into her head were none other than curse words.
It really just so happened to be frickin’ island survival!
The guide glanced at everyone’s unfavorable expressions and chuckled. This was a distinguishing feature of "Great Survival Challenge"; the stars’ fear and terror were exactly one of the main draws of the show.
[Tiger Roaring: The show crew is quite evil, starting with intimidation and making the stars experience the toughest environment first, with the later parts being more rural and leisurely! Brilliant, Great Survival!]
[Breath Breath: Folks, look at Maya’s face—a comedic personality confirmed! Hahaha, how can her expression be so amusing? It’s more like speechlessness than fear!!]
[Mei Mei is mine: Mei Mei dear, just hang in there for a few episodes; after that, it’ll be the countryside life! If not, I’ll fly over to pick you up!]
[Chong Chong: This show is getting more and more interesting, hahaha!]
