The Tycoon's Enchanted Mermaid-Chapter 116 - : Master Ting Chan’s Home Visit Service
Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Master Ting Chan’s Home Visit Service
Ah Da had been catching finger-sized fish with ease since switching to a new fishing rod, but that didn’t dampen her excitement one bit because the fish were biting so quickly.
Sitting until her butt ached, Ah Da lifted her rod and ran over to the fish box to check, five big fish and more than a dozen small ones—she didn’t expect such a bountiful harvest on her first try.
On their way back, they released all the fish back into the lake. Ah Da’s steps were light and buoyant, she hummed an out-of-tune song cheerfully, the smile never leaving her lips.
Qin Yu lowered his gaze to her and asked,
“Happy?”
Ah Da certainly was, she nodded vigorously and said, “Fishing is so much fun. Next time I’ll try a different spot. There must be a lot of species in the lake.”
...
Qin Yu said, “You can fish however you like.” Then he stopped and opened his hands toward her.
Ah Da paused, her gaze shifting from his face to his wrist. The pink and white pearl necklace gleamed in the sunlight, and she blushed as she placed her hand in his.
No words were needed when their feelings were in sync.
They returned to the house side by side to find a car parked outside. Ah Da wondered if Wei Lan had come to pay them.

Excited, she ran inside only to find it wasn’t Wei Lan but Master Ting Chan from Lingcheng Mountain and Master Yao Qingzhi.
Master Ting Chan was wearing his trademark light grey robe, with his dry yellow hair and white beard a mess.
He was curled up on the couch, indifferently eating an apple. When he saw Qin Yu and Ah Da enter, he turned his face away with a look of distaste as if he did not wish to see them.
Master Yao stepped forward slowly and greeted, “Miss Su, Mr. Qin.”
Qin Yu nodded faintly, while Ah Da was puzzled and surprised by their arrival. Could they have discovered her secret use of Spiritual Power and come to settle the score?
“Master, Master Yao, what brings you here?”
Ah Da scanned both of them.
Master Yao answered calmly, “Mr. Qin invited us here, saying that we might find objects that retain fragments of your soul.”
Master Ting Chan spoke up irritably while chewing his apple, “What do you mean, ‘invited’? He blatantly threatened us—a naked threat.”
Qin Yu ignored Master Ting Chan’s outburst and pulled Ah Da, who was still standing by the door, to sit on the other side of the couch. Song Ma led the servants to bring tea and sweets, handing a cup first to Ah Da.
Master Ting Chan desperately sought to make his presence felt, pointing at Qin Yu, “You Qin brat, listen up, it was you who threatened me into giving service. It’s easy to invite a deity but hard to send one away. I’m going to settle in here today; your place is much more luxurious and grandiose than my Lingcheng Mountain, with good food and good wear—I’m not loosing out at all.”
Qin Yu replied indifferently, “As you please.”
Master Ting Chan couldn’t help but complain indignantly, “Oh, the audacity! You’re even more troublesome than Old Man Qin. I, Master Ting Chan, am a respected figure in Beijing, and here you are ordering me around—a man of my standing! Don’t I have any dignity?”
Master Ting Chan continued to rant, his hands already reaching for the sweets and stuffing them into his mouth.
After barely chewing a few times, he turned pale. Master Yao, as if expecting this, calmly passed him a cup of tea.
Master Ting Chan grabbed the tea and gulped it down, pounding his chest a few times before he managed to swallow the pastries. He looked as if he’d just had a near-death experience.
He pointed angrily at the flower-shaped sweets on the coffee table, “This stuff is so sweet my teeth hurt. How much sugar do you have to put in? Is the Qin Family also in the business of selling sweeteners?”
“And this tea tastes off too.”
Ting Chan tossed the teacup back on the table, crossed his arms, and complained, “Not eating anymore. None of this suits the old Daoist.”
Ah Da held her cup of tea with both hands. The tea was a bit hot, and as she blew on it, she sneakily observed Qin Yu’s expression.
Even she could tell something wasn’t right. Master Ting Chan’s fuss seemed to be aimed at provoking Qin Yu, but she couldn’t figure out why they’d suddenly become enemies.
Qin Yu sat on the couch like a sovereign, legs crossed, his face sculpted and noble, with an air of serenity about him. He seemed oblivious to Master Ting Chan’s tantrums and said in a calm voice,
“Are you done talking? If so, it’s time to get to work.”
Upon hearing this, Master Ting Chan almost ran out of breath. It was like using the strength of nine bulls and two tigers to demonstrate eighteen kinds of martial arts skills, only to have his opponent casually respond with a gentle tap. Winning or losing was no longer important—it was a matter of dignity.
He should have known that throwing a tantrum would have no effect on this young man. Master Ting Chan gazed skyward and chose to play dumb.
“What work? I never agreed to anything.”
Qin Yu wasn’t in a rush anyway, leisurely playing with Ah Da’s small hand. Her nails were neat and trim, the shortness making them seem round and cute. Her hands were tender and delicate; squeezing them felt like caressing a piece of soft jade.
“Is that so?”
Ah Da’s porcelain-white little face gradually flushed red. She wanted to pull her hand back, but when Qin Yu glanced over lightly, she didn’t dare move, as if all the strength had been drained from her body, leaving her tingling.
Why was he idly pinching her hand? Was her hand really that fun to play with? Ah Da complained internally, not willing to give in, and immediately reached out with her other ‘paw’ to pinch the back of his hand.
But the man’s hand was firm, and Ah Da’s nails were too short to get a good grip. In the end, both hands fell into enemy territory.
Master Ting Chan was fuming, narrowing his eyes at the perfect match flirting across from him, and finally managed to spit out a sentence:
“I must have owed you Qin Family in the last life.”
He could no longer bear to stay seated and stood up to urge Yao Qingzhi, “Hurry up, get the work done and let’s get out of here. Every moment I spend here, I’m close to dying of anger.”
Yao Qingzhi knew his master was proud and unwilling to lower his head to Qin Yu, so he turned to look at Qin Yu, “Mr. Qin, please take out the item so we can check it.”
Ah Da thought to herself that the thing Qin Yu was talking about must be her personal savings, which was too massive to be easily retrieved.
As expected, Qin Yu said, “It’s upstairs, and there’s quite a bit.”
Yao Qingzhi bowed slightly, “Then please lead the way, Mr. Qin.”
“Miss Su should come with us as well.”
Yao Qingzhi looked at Ah Da, who nodded in agreement. It was her affair, after all, so of course, she had to follow.
Qin Yu got up and walked upstairs with Ah Da.
Master Ting Chan, like an old imp, lifted his chin and stubbornly looked away. Yao Qingzhi could only pull him along.
“Come on, Master, they’ve all gone upstairs.”
Master Ting Chan sneaked a glance; indeed, Qin Yu and Ah Da were nowhere to be seen. He coughed to cover his embarrassment and muttered as he stroked his beard,
“Qingzhi, this outing has been unsuccessful. That Qin Family lad is really something. After all I’ve done, he still won’t give me any benefits. He has so much money, why is he so stingy?”
Yao Qingzhi felt helpless. He really didn’t want to say anything. Ever since he received Qin Yu’s phone call last night, his master’s mood had been very… indescribable.
At first, he didn’t want to go, but after Qin Yu issued an ultimatum, Master Ting Chan had no choice but to comply. He quickly changed his mindset, thinking they couldn’t make the trip for nothing. He insisted on playing along with the act, intending to fleece a large sum.
Yao Qingzhi didn’t want to join in the madness and advised his master not to waste his energy, to no avail. The result, as expected,
Was not successful.
Yao Qingzhi said, “Mr. Qin has always been like this; Master, it’s not your first time dealing with him.”
As Master Ting Chan ascended the staircase with his hands behind his back, he pondered, “I refuse to believe that the Qin Family brat can be so arrogant forever.”
“Now it seems that he has really taken a fancy to that little merfolk. The paths of humans and ghosts are different—no, the paths of humans and demons too. If he’s really set on this path, he’ll have many opportunities to beg me in the future.”
“I didn’t fleece him this time, but there will always be a next time.”
