The Tycoon's Enchanted Mermaid-Chapter 181 - : Curse
Chapter 181 -181: Curse
Blue skies, white clouds, and green trees by the clear river; this was an obscure small town in Sweden, uniformly designed with red roof tiles and white walls. In total, there were no more than ten houses in view.
At the edge, outside a three-story villa, three black cars were parked. Men in white lab coats and masks disembarked from the vehicles, carrying cases alongside them.
Witte, dressed in a black suit, strode over, his waist button strained tightly by his overdeveloped chest muscles that seemed ready to burst forth. He reached out to take a case and said to the doctors,
“Make it quick, I have a flight at 10 tonight.”
The doctors nodded, “We’ll do our best.”
Upon entering the villa, the butler and the maids were waiting in the hall. Witte headed straight upstairs, the butler close behind him.
“Has the patient woken up?”
The butler cupped his hands and answered cautiously, “I checked this morning, and it was the same as usual; he probably hasn’t awakened.”
“Probably?” Witte stopped in his tracks upon hearing this, turned around on the staircase, his chiseled face exuding a chilling air, “You can’t even keep an eye on a person properly? If he runs off, your life would be forfeit too.”

The butler dared not explain, accepting the scolding with his head bowed.
Witte cursed him as useless and quickly turned, making his way to the room. He opened the door abruptly; the room was spacious, with sunlight streaming in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The bed was surrounded by various medical instruments, and a man, wrapped tightly in bandages, lay on it.
Witte checked the instruments; the data was all normal. He breathed a sigh of relief, afraid of having to explain if anything happened to Lu Jing. He hurriedly signaled the doctors to come over and perform a full-body examination.
The doctors quickly opened their cases and put on white gloves. They took out tools to start cutting the bandages off Lu Jing.
Flying overnight from the Capital City to abroad, the bandages had long since merged with flesh into a single mass, and their removal was a painstaking process. Four doctors stood around the bed with scissors and tweezers, painstakingly working to separate them, taking a full three hours.
Once the bandages were removed, the man on the bed had become a bloodied figure, with hardly a patch of skin intact; a normal person with such extensive injuries would have long since died from severe infection, utterly incapable of lying peacefully in bed.
The doctors analyzed the situation.
“This case is quite severe, with full-body epidermal lacerations, the largest of which reaches five centimeters. However, the young master’s body is unique; despite the festering wounds, his various systems are still functioning normally, and there is currently no mortal danger.”
Witte raised his hand, “As long as he’s not in danger, continue,” he said while pulling out his mobile phone to make a call.
“Yes.”
The doctors carried on with their work.
Witte turned to call his subordinates in the Capital City, detailing Lu Jing’s condition, “Dr. Rhine said there is no life-threatening danger, it’s the same as before; you can reassure the eldest young master.”
“Alright, boss. You leave some people to look after the second young master. The eldest young master orders him to stay in Sweden for the time being. You’ll return tonight. Take a flight to Mountain City; someone will meet you there.”
Witte furrowed his brow, sensing something was amiss: “Qin Yu moves so fast, he’s already found Pu Cheng?”
“Yes, surprisingly, much faster than we anticipated. Qin Yu pressed us with a kidnapping charge; it granted him plenty of convenient assistance. In the age of information, it’s difficult to leave no trace, especially since Qin Yu is no ordinary person.”
“The young master said the old house is off-limits for now, the situation is quite tricky at the moment, you handle Lu Jing’s matter in Sweden first, we’ll talk about everything once you’re back.”
“Kidnapping? Was it Wan Jinlong who snitched as a witness? Could he have had a backup plan?” Witte irritably ruffled his hair.
“It’s probable, the situation was urgent and we didn’t take him with us, now it seems it was a mistake, Wan Jinlong is a mean-spirited coward, and the young master said for the sake of saving his own skin, he ratted them out, we have no choice but to take the loss on this one.”
“What take the loss? Take what loss? That bastard Wan Jinlong, he’s just a dog under our control, think about how many benefits we’ve given him over the years, without us he would never have reached the heights he has now, he’d probably be dead in some ditch by now, and here he is, betraying us out of fear for his life, he deserves to pay a price, it’s suffocating me just knowing he’s alive.”
Witte punched the wall, his eyes fierce, “I’m not going back to Mountain City, I’m going to Capital City to finish off Wan Jinlong, that dog.”
“Boss, don’t act on impulse, returning to Mountain City is the young master’s order, are you going to defy that order?”
“The laws in this country are strict, if you kill someone, that’s committing a crime, you’re asking for death, if you really do this, neither the young master nor the Lu Family will agree with it, listen to me, Qin Yu is putting on the pressure, the young master and the rest are planning our strategy, we’re not on our home turf here, impatience can ruin big plans.”
“Right now the most important thing is the mission, Merfolk are heavily protected by Qin Yu’s side, failing to eliminate this lurking danger makes it even more difficult next time, boss, better come back first.”
Witte took a deep breath and after a long pause, looking out the window he said, “Alright, I understand, I’ll return to Mountain City tonight.”
The person on the phone clearly sighed with relief, “Ok, boss, you go ahead with what you’re doing, I’ll go report the situation to the young master.”
After hanging up the phone, Witte leaned to the side, tossed his phone onto the sofa, put his hands on his hips, and closed his eyes with his head back, accepting defeat was out of the question, Wan Jinlong, that spineless commodity, he’d find an opportunity to crush him sooner or later, Qin Yu can’t always protect him.
Traitors will never have a good ending.
Two hours passed, the doctor had meticulously removed all dead skin from Lu Jing’s body to prevent decay from affecting the tissue below, looking at his exposed, blurred flesh, the doctor was amazed, Lu Jing for the medical community was nothing short of a miracle.
After all, rejuvenation was a routine affair for him, the time of transformation was variable, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.
The precursor was always the skin splitting and bones automatically shrinking and reorganizing, his body was like a balloon, suddenly deflating quickly, and then inflating just as rapidly when the time came.
This undoubtedly required a superhuman healing ability, for example, his entire skin has peeled off now, a normal person would be lying in a sterile intensive care unit, while Lu Jing could lay in bed, still unharmed and alive, completely inconceivable.
Not just Lu Jing, other blood-related members of the Lu Family had distinct “unique” abilities, many doctors unanimously believed it was a genetic anomaly, but still, the real cause couldn’t be found to date.
The curse theory was the Lu Family’s own explanation.
It was too outlandish, hard to imagine.
The research teams dispersed in various locations were all cultivated by the Lu Family to serve them, even though new medical doctors kept joining and technology and equipment were continuously improving, there was still no progress, despite years of research into their bodies, it was regrettable that no solution was found.
Seeing the doctor stop, Witte immediately went over to ask, “Is it done?”
The doctor nodded, “Yes, although the condition this time was severe, the healing capability seems to be even stronger than before, I estimate it will take about a fortnight for the skin tissues to fully heal.”
“A fortnight?” Witte glanced at Lu Jing who was unconscious on the bed and narrowed his eyes, “Fine, during these two weeks make sure he’s taken care of, call me directly if anything comes up.”
The doctor nodded, “Will do, sir.”
