Chapter 59: 59. What It Means To Lose It

Mauve's mind churned as she heard the door burst open. "Princess!" Vae cried as she rushed to her side.

Mauve raised her head from her palm and hung onto her maid, sobbing.

"What is wrong, princess?" Vae asked, her forehead furrowed with confusion and worry.

"I may have committed a grave sin and the gods have it out for me." Mauve cried into her arms.

Vae's brows dipped in confusion. "Whatever do you mean princess?"

Mauve flung the sheet she had used to cover herself, exposing her naked self to Vae. A gasp flew out of the maid's mouth and she said, "Oh princess." She then hugged Mauve tighter. "I can't believe the vampire King actually laid with you." The joy in her voice was apparent.

"There is something wrong with me," Mauve muttered, tears streaming down her face. She had barely heard what Vae had said.

Vae cupped her face with her palms and Mauve opened her eyes to see Vae staring down at her Vae had a huge grin on her face. "No, princess." She said, shaking her head while still grinning. "There is absolutely nothing wrong with you."

Mauve's eyes nearly popped out of her socket. "There is blood coming out of my lady place and there is still at least a week before I have to worry about my time of the month. This must be because I did something despicable. I don't know why I didn't stop him."

Vae chuckled, "This is what happens."

"What?" Mauve asked with a dumbfounded expression.

"The blood tells that it is your first time. If there wasn't any blood, I would be worried." Vae explained.

Mauve looked horrified, "Everybody bleeds?"

Vae nodded with a smile. "Well, there are a few cases where some women don't but I have never heard of the first time being completely painless. This is what it means to lose your virginity. I thought you knew this."

"I thought once we shared a bed together that was how I was supposed to lose it." Mauve said as she fiddled with her fingers.

The truth was she never really spoke about it and nobody has ever discussed this with her. Her mother died when she was pretty young and everybody else at the castle avoided her like a plague.

"But I did ask you… Never mind, it isn't your fault princess. I should have confirmed it in clearer terms. I am sorry you had to go through this."

"Why did it hurt so much and would it continue to hurt?"

"No, no, no, it gets so much better by how often you do it."

Mauve eyes squinted, "Why do you know this?" Mauve asked Vae blushed.

"My sister told me and…" her words trailed.

"And?" Mauve asked wide-eyed.

"I have a fiance," Vae explained as her eyes darted from one end of the room to the other.

New novel 𝓬hapters are published on freёwebnoѵel.com.

Mauve gasped, "Are you not supposed to wait till marriage?"

"Not really. It only matters to the upper echelon, the aristocrats who marry for wealth, status, and lands, to prevent a divorce. We on the lower end of the spectrum don't have to as we mostly marry people we have known forever and if you spend enough time with the boy you like something is bound to happen." Vae giggled.

Mauve blushed as she realized this happened because they were sharing the same bed. She wouldn't call Jael a boy but she was certain she liked him. Which was good.

"So, I am fine and I didn't do anything that would send me to the depths of hell?" The tears on her face were completely dry at this point.

"You are absolutely fine, you will feel sore for a while but before the end of the day, you should be much better. Also," Vae's voice dropped lower. "Never refuse him, if you control his loins, you control him," Vae said and winked at her.

Before she could respond to the uncanny advice. Vae moved away from her and pulled twice on the strings. She returned to the princess' side in no time. "A warm bath would do you good and with a little nap you should feel as good as new," Vae smirked.

Mauve didn't have any response but she was certain she had not processed the situation yet. She felt a little exhausted from the whole ordeal and her body felt tired. She opened her mouth and a yawn escaped.

Mauve jumped a little when she heard a knock on the door even though she had been expecting it. Vae left her side to go open the door. It was obvious how excited she was, she skipped to the door and held it open.

Mack walked in with the tub and placed it on the floor.

"Please, tell Mill we would like a bowl of hot soup and some fruits," Vae said to him.

He slowly turned to look at her, he stared at her hard before he nodded and left the room.

"Come princess," Vae said as she lifted Mauve off the bed. She carefully led her to the tub and helped her into it.

She let her soak in it for a few seconds before she wiped the inside of her thighs as gently as possible. Mauve jerked at first but it was only out of shock rather than any pain.

Vae then thoroughly washed the whole of Mauve's body before helping her out of the tub. She wiped and dressed her for bed. "There is no need to move around today."

Mauve didn't argue, she just wanted to climb into her bed and sleep. She sat by the dresser with her hair wrapped up in a towel.

"Let me change the sheets," Vae said and stepped away from her.

It was a huge bed and Mauve wondered how she would be able to do it all by herself but Vae moved quickly. She pulled out the old bright sheets and carefully folded them. The bloodstain stood out even in the slightly dark room, she could make it out from this distance.

Mauve watched her place the folded sheets in the corner with a big smile on her face. Vae looked incredibly happy and Mauve couldn't comprehend why. She wanted to ask but she was already through enough today and there was nothing wrong with Vae's happiness.

She covered the bed with a new sheet just as a knock could be heard on the door opened. She did the finishing touches and opened it. Mack wasted no time in picking up the tub and leaving the room. She closed the door behind him and rushed to the dresser. "Do you need me to style your hair?" She asked and she took out the towel.

Mauve shook her head, she just wanted to lie down at this point. Her shoulders felt tired and she knew she wouldn't have any problems falling asleep.

"Okay, hopefully, your food will be here soon enough," Vae said.

She brushed Mauve's hair and helped her off the dresser. She helped Mauve into the side of the bed, just as another knock could be heard.

"Come in," Vae said.

The door opened to reveal Mill with a tray. She approached them and the concern on her face was obvious. "Is everything alright?" She asked nobody in particular.

"Yes," Vae responded without elaborating. "Thank you," she said as she accepted the tray.

Mauve smiled softly at Mill.

"If you need anything, please do not hesitate to let me know." Mill said.

"Thank you," Vae said and nodded to her. The vampire slowly left the room but not without looking back.

Mauve accepted the hot bowl that was handed to her, she took a sip and smacked her lips. It was delicious, if it wasn't so hot, she would have gulped it. She took it slowly and felt it warm her up from the inside.

She dropped the bowl so it could cool off a little and Vae handed her a fruit but she declined. Vae frowned but didn't protest, "Just make sure you eat them at some point."

"Okay," Mauve said stiffly and took another sip from the bowl.

"Is there anything you need me to do for you?" Vae asked.

Mauve paused to look at Vae's face, the tone of her voice sounded less excited than it had been a couple of minutes ago. "No," she said softly and as an afterthought, she added, "Are you okay?"

"Don't worry about me princess but I am fine, thank you."

Mauve eyed her oddly. "Oh yes, there is one thing."

"Okay," Vae's face immediately brightened up. "What do you need?"

Mauve hands around her bowl tightened. "Do you think you can explain the situation to Jael, I am sure he must be worried?"

Mauve saw Vae freeze up but the maid nodded. "Of course, I will do that now."

"You don't have to if you don't want to but I don't think I am ready to see him now."

"I understand princess and leave this to me." Vae headed for the door without a backward glance. Mauve finished the rest of the soup as the door closed.
