Chapter 481: The Situation (1)

Ross had nothing to do and decided to set out immediately. Expanding his senses, he located the housekeeper and swiftly went to inform her of his departure. π•—π«πšŽπ—²π˜„πžπ•“π§π• π˜ƒπ•–π₯.πœπš˜πš–

"Lily, I’m going to meet my father and brother. Take care of yourself," he said to the middle-aged woman.

"Of course, Young Master. Do take care as well," the woman replied with a warm smile, watching as Ross left the estate.

The moment the redhead stepped out of the house, he took to the skies, reaching the Orbital Ring in seconds. Without delay, he moved towards the section where he could rent a spaceship.

While many were not familiar with him, his presence was more than enough to make the people understand that he was no simple hunter; the aura he gave off spoke volumes about his level.

The process of hiring a spaceship took less than 10 minutes, and since Ross was the only person, he opted for a small crew. Furthermore, he was given priority because of his level.

Because the universe was no longer plagued with dangers like before, space-travelling agencies could afford to send out small ships, as there were barely any dangers out there, at least for hunters.

Moreover, the protective sphere around the empire ensured that no harm would befall people. Void creatures were more or less reduced to wandering space creatures that any hunter worth their power could handle.

The truly deadly ones were nowhere close to the empire’s borders. Even if they wandered near the borders, the government’s security forces swiftly took care of them.

"We’ll be at your destination in about three hours, Lord Ross." The captain said. "Please relax while we handle everything."

"Mm," Ross nodded, closing his eyes while the spaceship began the sequence for a hyperspace jump.

A minute later, the ship shot forward, shuttling towards the open space tunnel and disappearing from the solar system.

Three hours later.

"Lord Ross, we’re here." The captain informed Ross over the comms, making the redhead open his eyes.

"Thank you," Ross said as he removed his strap and got out of his seat.

He looked out the window, noticing the blank but glimmering space they were in. The backdrop of intergalactic space shone with bright hues of blue, red and purple gas clouds.

"I was only doing my job, Lord Ross. You don’t have to thank me," the captain said, quickly opening the doors.

The redhead made his way to the cargo section and, without hesitation, jumped out of the ship. He was not even in armour, as it was not needed for someone of his level.

After creating a bit of distance from the spaceship, he watched as the ship turned and performed another jump, disappearing from his sight.

’Now then...’

Focusing his attention on his surroundings, Ross realised he was inside a galaxy. The coordinates his father gave him led to the outer boundaries of this galaxy, a galaxy that looked to be in ruins.

All around him were pieces of floating rocks, rogue planets and other galactic debris. In the distance, directly in the centre of this galaxy, was a supermassive blackhole that radiated so much energy that Ross could feel it where he stood.

’Father and big brother should be somewhere around here,’ Ross extended his senses as far as he could, covering a few thousand light-years with ease. ’Found them...’

Despite the seal Alexander placed on his powers, his senses were not interfered with at all. The redhead could extend it for thousands of light-years without issue.

That was how powerful an Immortal was...

In a flash, Ross disappeared from where he was, breaking past the former speed limit of the universe like wet paper. Within a second, he covered hundreds of light-years, slowly approaching the glimmering star in the distance.

He flew past many debris on his way, noticing how many rogue planets and other celestial bodies were displaced. ’Looks like this place was formerly plagued with Cosmic Mana Waves and displacements.’

Soon, Ross noticed a fleet of ships in the distance that bore the insignia of his father’s force. The spaceships appeared to be strategically placed to create some sort of barricade around the star system.

Compared to the chaos Ross was seeing everywhere, this star system mainly seemed untouched, and was probably why his father chose this location for a base.

"Halt!"

As soon as Ross got close enough, some of the hunters standing guard noticed his presence and closed in on his location. These hunters were at the very least B-Tier hunters, with the one in the lead being at the S-Tier.

"Ah, Young Master Ross. Welcome," The hunters quickly recognised him and stepped aside. "We’ve been awaiting your arrival."

"Lead me to my father..." Ross instructed, and the hunters quickly turned around and led him towards the command centre.

The solar system serving as the base of operations had seven planets remaining in orbit, while the others, farther away, were out of orbit, slowly drifting away.

’I can see why Father wants to claim this place...’ Ross noted as his senses picked up several rich minerals and resources on the surrounding planets and celestial bodies.

And it wasn’t just the ones nearby.

Even those farther away were filled with resources. A couple of light-years past this stable star system, Ross noticed a ginormous field of drifting planets and satellites floating around like some junkyard.

’This place is a literal treasure trove...’ A slight frown appeared on his face a moment later. ’That’s them...’ He noticed the family giving his father trouble.

"We’re here."

His thoughts were interrupted when the hunter leading him came to a stop before a planet the size of Jupiter.

It was the fifth planet in orbit around the sun, and from what Ross could see, the planet had already been terraformed, serving as the base of operations for his father.

The atmosphere of the planet shimmered with blue and white hues as it absorbed and reflected the star’s light.

"Thank you."

Ross muttered and then plunged into the planet, breaking into the atmosphere with a resounding boom and heading straight for the setup base on the ground.
