Chapter 196: Luo Jianqing, You Got to Make It (v)

Translator: Storm in a Teacup

As time passed, the black vortex got even more furious. This time, it absorbed the spiritual power between Earth and Heaven, and rushed towards Xuan Lingzi again. However, Xuan Lingzi just sighed lightly, fingers stroking the sword, and then a gold spell gradually appeared on his sword.

The intricate figures were shining, whose lights slowly converged and ultimately formed a delicate gold little lotus. Small and seemingly ordinary as it was, the gold lotus crushed violently with that black vortex, making the latter cry painfully.

The black vortex shouted incoherently, “You are the disciple of Jiu Lian! I’m gonna kill this treacherous bastard. I’m gonna kill you, Jiu Lian!”

When Xuan Lingzi heard it, he paused shortly, but still seized the chance to grasp that pill.

Just as he held that pill, the black vortex abruptly disappeared, only its grieving sounds echoing in the canyon. The murderous sounds were mingled with hatred, especially when it shouted “Jiu Lian”, as if it wanted to slice him into pieces.

Its hatred was deep down to the bones; its fury was towering up to the sky!

Luo Jianqing gravely looked at the place where it disappeared, and then shifted to that pill. Suddenly, he saw a pair of hands on the back of his hand. The fingers were long and slim, as white as the finest jade. Xuan Lingzi was so familiar with the warmth of those hands that he was totally shocked. He raised his head stiffly.

In the narrow canyon, a handsome cultivator was gazing at Xuan Lingzi with wet eyes. Xuan Lingzi had seen that eyes for thousands of times. He seldom slept, but all of his rare dreams were soaked with this pair of eyes.

In the earlier years, those eyes would hit out at him in his dream, “What a shame, you should have this filthy feeling towards your disciple!” Sometimes, the eyes would look down upon him, all the way down to the ashes on the ground. Only in some rare cases would the eyes accept him and told him, “Master, I like you too.”

Somewhat, Xuan Lingzi was once again overcome with the bitter memories over the past decades.

His throat was like an unsmooth axle, but before he could say anything, Luo Jianqing had put his fingers on Xuan Lingzi’s lips, “Master, I finally find you. Do you know how anxious and worried I am? What if I cannot see you anymore in this life…”

“Jianqing…”

Luo Jianqing shook his head slightly and stepped forward, stumbling into Xuan Lingzi’s arms. The warmth spread to all of their bodies from the part they contacted. After a snort, Luo Jianqing continued, “Master, I am still mad at you pushing me away that day. You cannot day that anymore. If you are dead…” after a pause, he continued, “if you are dead, what’s the point of my life?”

Xuan Lingzi couldn’t help but throwing his arms around Luo Jianqing’s waist, “Jianqing…”

Luo Jianqing said, “Yes, I’m here. Master, let’s get out of this dangerous place first.”

Then, Luo Jianqing held Xuan Lingzi’s hand and flew out of the canyon.

Xuan Lingzi’s right hand clenched the spiritual pill, and the left hand was tightly held by Luo Jianqing. He was almost tugged by Luo Jianqing. Staying behind of his disciple, Xuan Lingzi glanced at Luo Jianqing, from his face, to his bold collarbone and ultimately to his hand.

Luo Jianqing turned back with a spoiling smile, “Master, why are you gazing at me? If you keep doing that, you will get a real problem.”

Xuan Lingzi asked, “What problem?”

As usual, Luo Jianqing wiped his smile off his face and a sense of banter flashed across his eyes. He replied quickly, “A real big problem”, and then abruptly moved to Xuan Lingzi, aiming at his lips.

However, he only kissed Xuan Lingzi’s palm.

Luo Jianqing looked at Xuan Lingzi with great astonishment.

Xuan Lingzi looked at him with pampering eyes.

“Although I am loath to kill you, you shouldn’t cheat me like that. No matter how well you pretend, you are not him.”

That “Luo Jianqing” was baffled. Smile gradually disappeared on his face, which was then overshadowed by grieve. Finally, he lowered his head and smiled weirdly, “You just say you are loath to kill me? Then in the previous incarnation, who penetrated my heart with his sword, who failed to save me? Do you really believe that getting yourself demonized and killing Dao Cultivators can make it up for me? You failed to save me. It was not Li Xiuchen, but you that killed me!”

Xuan Lingzi’s body got stiffened.

“Xuan Lingzi, you have kept on pleading that you love me, but don’t forget that you, the man contended for righteousness, finally failed to save me. You had had so many choices. You could have refused to take Li Xiuchen as your disciple, or not teach him any skills, you could have even professed your love to me. But you did nothing. You thought you were saving me, but after all, it was you that pushed me into the corner!”

“No! I am saving you. I accepted him as my disciple for your sake…”

“Xuan Lingzi, you are still lying to yourself!”

The environment suddenly changed again.

On the Cliff of Lost Love in Chong State, Xuan Lingzi was standing right in front of Dao Cultivators, seeing what was happening with wide-opened eyes.
