The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 124: The Hard-to-Handle Kid
Ian Shaw took a step back, looking at him defiantly. "I don’t want it."
Jared Woods stepped forward, insisting, "It’s really sweet. Go on, try it."
Ian Shaw turned his head away. "You’re lying. They’re clearly sour. Nathan even spat his out."
Carina Sanders shoved Jared Woods away. "Get away! You’re not allowed to bully Ian!"
Jared Woods could only back away, looking crestfallen.
Ian is so smart. He isn’t falling for it at all.
Jared Woods is such a little rascal, making everyone try such sour grapes.
Those grapes look so sour. I can already imagine the taste in my mouth. Save me.
...
The production team hadn’t assigned any other tasks, so this was supposed to be a free period.
Except for Nathan Lynch, who had gone inside to study, all the other children were playing in the yard.
Naomi Kenway moved a lounge chair and sat by the apple tree, watching them play.
Ian was reluctant to go over at first, but Carina Sanders and Simon Sawyer teamed up and successfully convinced him.
They seemed to be playing house, pretending to run a restaurant. Their "food" consisted of leaves and dirt.
It was Ian’s first time playing this kind of game with other kids. He seemed a little awkward, but his face was flushed with excitement.
Naomi Kenway felt a little more at ease. She got up to water the flowers, and when she went inside, she found Nathan Lynch studying with unusual intensity, his back straight and his gaze completely focused.
A thought struck her, and she poured a glass of water and handed it to him.
"You’ve been studying for a long time, haven’t you? Here, have some water."
Nathan Lynch looked over, a dazed expression on his face. His grip on his pencil tightened. "Thank you... Aunt Kenway."
"You don’t have to be so polite."
Nathan Lynch took a sip. "Why is it sweet?"
"Because I added some honey. Do you like it?"
"...I like it."
Worried the other children might be thirsty, Naomi Kenway poured a few more glasses of water and brought them outside.
"Take this!"
A clump of mud landed right next to Naomi Kenway’s shoe. She instinctively gasped.
The culprit, Jared Woods, immediately cowered. "I didn’t mean to! I was trying to hit Sean..."
Naomi Kenway walked over. "You can’t throw mud at people. What if you hurt someone?"
Jared Woods put his hands behind his back and said perfunctorily, "Okay."
Everyone says unruly kids are a handful, and Naomi Kenway was beginning to feel suffocated just watching them.
In the short time she’d taken to get some water, the yard had become a total mess. Clumps of mud were scattered everywhere, and some had even damaged the flowers in the pots.
Naomi Kenway’s heart ached as she cleaned up the mess. "Who did this?"
Simon Sawyer said, "Jared Woods threw them. It’s my fault for not keeping a better eye on him."
As Naomi Kenway shot him a stern look, Jared Woods quickly confessed, "They wouldn’t play with me! I... I won’t do it again! Please don’t hit me with a belt!"
Naomi Kenway didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She took two steps forward and noticed a surprisingly realistic "tank" made of mud on the ground, with a large pit dug out of the earth next to it.
Driven by fear, Jared Woods said, "I know I shouldn’t have done it. Please don’t hit me."
Naomi Kenway examined it closely. "Did you build this?"
Jared Woods nodded, trembling, as if he could already foresee the punishment that was about to come.
But to his surprise, Naomi Kenway chuckled. "Not bad. It looks pretty real."
Jared Woods’s eyes widened. He never could have imagined this would be the result.
Naomi Kenway didn’t hit him. She even praised him. She praised him for building such an amazing tank...
Then Naomi Kenway’s tone shifted. "It’s just a shame about the big hole in the yard. I hope that next time you build a tank, you can also clean up your surroundings..."
Jared Woods immediately puffed out his chest and promised, "I’ll put the dirt back."
Naomi Kenway didn’t criticize him right away. She praised how well he built it and didn’t crush his hobby. She handled that so well.
Who said Naomi Kenway has a bad temper? She’s obviously very patient! If that were me, I would’ve lost it by now. I could never stay that calm.
Hahaha, kids are just rambunctious. It’s that age where they’re full of energy and curious about everything!

Renee Jennings had just learned how to cast the net, but afterward, she sat on the boat, looking completely distracted.
Chelsea Raines called out to her, keeping a slight distance because of what had happened earlier. "Renee, what’s wrong?"
Renee Jennings snapped out of it, her brow tightly furrowed. "I’m worried about Nathan. I just can’t feel at ease with him there. What if..." She glanced around, and seeing that Ruby Preston and Margaret Jennings were not nearby, Renee continued, "What if... I mean, what experience does Nina even have with kids? I just wish I could be by his side right this second."
In truth, that wasn’t her only concern. She was afraid Naomi Kenway would brainwash Nathan Lynch again. Every time Nathan spent time with Naomi, he would come back extremely difficult and disobedient.
The thought of it made Renee Jennings incredibly frustrated.
Chelsea Raines sighed as well. "Tell me about it. I wonder if Jared has even eaten yet. Naomi Kenway will probably let my son go hungry. She might have even... hit him. Oh, my poor baby..."
The two of them frowned, united in their worries.

The "poor child" Chelsea Raines was worried about had already finished lunch and was now sleeping soundly in bed, letting out soft snores.
"Buns, french fries, don’t run away!"
He mumbled in his sleep, smacking his lips.
Naomi Kenway was telling a fairy tale from memory. By the time she finished the section, she realized all the children had fallen asleep.
She walked out of the bedroom and found Nathan Lynch still studying in the living room. He hadn’t stopped doing his homework for a single moment since lunch.
Naomi Kenway walked over and asked gently, "Still not done with your homework?"
Nathan Lynch rubbed his eyes, looking especially tired from having skipped his nap. "I finished it. I’m doing the extra assignments my mom gave me."
Naomi Kenway picked up the assignment sheet from the table next to him. It was covered in densely packed text. She didn’t feel impressed; she just felt a sense of suffocation.
Naomi Kenway put down the assignment list. "Nathan, you need to rest for a bit. All the other kids are taking a nap. You should go get some sleep."
Nathan Lynch shook his head. "No. I have to finish all these problems. If I don’t, I won’t be able to get first place."
Naomi Kenway hadn’t realized how competitive Nathan was. She tried to persuade him, "But you’re already very tired, aren’t you? You need to have plenty of energy to study. That’s how you can be more efficient."
Nathan Lynch hesitated, then let out an involuntary yawn. He really was tired.
Naomi Kenway smiled. "How about I take you to the bedroom for a nap? We can study again later." 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Nathan Lynch placed his hand in Naomi Kenway’s.
It’s easy to get drowsy in the summer. The bedroom was already occupied by the other children, so Naomi Kenway had to make do with the sofa.

"Ms. Kenway, please retrieve your task card."
Naomi Kenway rubbed her eyes, feeling a bit more awake. She took the task card, her voice raspy with sleep. "So there’s another task..."
Please take the five children to Uncle Warren’s vegetable garden to complete the task of picking fruits and vegetables.
—The "My Super Mom" Production Team.
Naomi Kenway put away the task card and went to the bedroom to wake up the children.
