The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 91: Family Photo
For the last question, the asker grew even more audacious. "Are you only on this parent-child variety show to use your son for clout and clean up your image? You don’t genuinely care about Ian Shaw at all. You just pretend to be nice to him to maintain your public persona. He’s so dumb, yet you don’t even teach him how to do his homework—all you do is take him out to fool around!"
Naomi’s grip on her water bottle tightened, the plastic crackling under the pressure. She stared straight at the hater before her, all traces of her usual calm and collected demeanor gone. Her line had been crossed.
"My son is the smartest child in the world!" After saying this, she coldly ordered the nearby security guard, "Get this troublemaker out of here!"
The woman struggled as the guards dragged her away. "You’re just feeling guilty, Naomi Kenway! You’ve done nothing but evil, and now you’re using your own son to clean up your image! I’ll be waiting for the day you’re utterly disgraced!"
Laura Grant patted Naomi Kenway’s shoulder. "Don’t pay any mind to people like that. They’re probably just miserable with their own lives, so they go around looking for trouble."
Naomi nodded, her mood gradually stabilizing.
With the disruptive hater gone, the rest of the event went much more smoothly. Naomi didn’t turn down a single fan request, whether it was for an autograph, a handshake, or a hug.
Soon, the fan meet came to a close. Naomi made her way through the throng of people, bidding a reluctant farewell to her fans.
The fan meet had lasted the entire afternoon. It was already dark by the time Naomi left. She got into the company van alone while Laura Grant returned to her own apartment.
She rarely opened Weibo in her free time anymore. It was always flooded with wall-to-wall press releases about Jeanette Kensington.

A single glance was enough to annoy Naomi. She couldn’t understand how anyone could possibly like such a deliberate, showy display.
Ian had already been brought home by the time she arrived. The moment he saw Naomi, he threw himself into her arms. "Mommy, you’re back!"
Naomi lifted him up. He was a soft little bundle in her arms, and just like that, all the awful things that had happened that day were healed.
Ian Shaw nuzzled his face affectionately against Naomi’s cheek. "Ian missed Mommy so much."
"Oh? How much did you miss me?"
"So much that I missed you more than I want candy!"
A smile bloomed on Naomi’s face. "So you missed me that much, huh? I had something to take care of today, so I couldn’t pick you up. How was kindergarten, Ian?"
Naomi carried Ian to the sofa and sat down, handing her bag to a housekeeper with her free hand. Cradled in her arms, Ian earnestly shared what he had learned that day, making sure to emphasize that a girl named Jade Shaw from his class had offered him candy, but he had refused.
"Oh, why? Did your classmate Jade want to be friends with you?"
"No," Ian Shaw said. "She wanted to trade moms with Ian. She said she’d give me candy every day."
Naomi feigned surprise. "Candy every day? That sounds like a great deal. Why didn’t you trade?"
"No way! No way! I won’t trade!" Ian Shaw shook his head so fast it was a blur. "Ian only has one mommy!"
Naomi ruffled his hair and smiled. "Mommy is so touched."
Ian Shaw slid out of Naomi’s arms. He scampered over to a table on the other side of the room, grabbed a card, and presented it to Naomi. "Mommy, this is for you!"
"Did Ian draw this himself?" Naomi asked, taking it and studying it seriously.
It was a watercolor painting. Written on it were the words, "The Best Mom in the World."
Ian Shaw had been practicing his calligraphy, and his handwriting was neat and tidy.
Ian Shaw nodded. "For the best mommy in the whole world!"
Naomi couldn’t contain her excitement and cupped his round little face to give him another kiss.
Ethan Shaw usually came home very late, so Naomi had dinner with Ian first, then took him upstairs and read him a fairytale to lull him to sleep.
Dragging her slightly weary body back to her bedroom, Naomi first found a picture frame and carefully mounted the drawing her son had given her. She was about to hang it on the wall when she noticed that among the travel photos of her and Ian, several new family portraits had appeared.
Naomi instantly remembered the photographer they had met when picking Ian Shaw up from school, the one who had asked them to pose for a few shots. She never thought Ethan Shaw would actually hang the photos here...
Because of the angle, all you could see was the heartwarming image of the three of them from behind, holding hands. Naomi’s heart stirred. It was their first family photo, and it radiated nothing but pure happiness.
Her son was adorable and well-behaved, and her husband was handsome and dashing. ’This isn’t so bad, actually,’ Naomi thought.
Ethan Shaw still wasn’t back, but Naomi never pried into his affairs.
She was in the middle of binge-watching a show when a news alert suddenly popped up. Naomi froze, then clicked on the trending topic.
The hashtag #NaomiKenwayActsLikeADivaAtFanMeet was steadily climbing the charts.
The post was time-stamped three hours ago. It hadn’t made much of a splash at first, but twenty minutes ago, its popularity had suddenly exploded, with likes and comments surpassing one million.
[I knew Naomi Kenway couldn’t change her true colors. The moment she’s offline, she shows her true self. The variety show was probably all scripted.]
[You’ve got to be kidding me. I literally just became a fan of Naomi Kenway, how is there already another scandal? Don’t tell me her career is already over.]
[A fan travels all that way to see her at a fan meet, and Naomi Kenway has security throw them out? (frowning)]
After reading, Naomi quickly understood that someone had orchestrated this intentionally.
The phone rang. It was Laura Grant. "Someone maliciously recorded and spread rumors about what happened at the fan meet today. Have you seen the trending topic? This has to be a deliberate setup. Have you offended anyone recently?"
"I noticed," Naomi said thoughtfully. "I’ve offended so many people in the past, it’s hard to narrow it down. Is this going to be difficult to handle?"
"We’re already issuing a clarification and arranging to have the topic taken down, but it looks like someone’s paying to boost its numbers. The popularity is still climbing, and the money the company gave us..."
Naomi knew what she was worried about. "Have the team get it taken down completely. If the company’s budget isn’t enough, I’ll cover the rest. While you’re at it, track down the IP address of the original poster and send them a cease and desist. Let’s teach them a lesson. That way, anyone else who wants to spread rumors in the future might think twice."
Laura Grant was slightly taken aback, then agreed.
According to the rumors, Naomi was a spoiled, rude bimbo—just a pretty face. But after actually working with her, Laura Grant discovered she wasn’t anything like the tabloids claimed. She was not only charismatic; she was decisive and bold.
With Naomi’s assurance, Laura Grant resolved the situation swiftly. A cease and desist letter was sent, the full, unedited video of the incident was released, and the public narrative reversed in an instant.
[I knew something felt off! Turns out the video was maliciously edited. The person who posted it is disgusting! Just slandering someone’s reputation for no reason!]
[The ’fan’ asking the question was clearly trying to cause trouble. And then they had the nerve to call Ian dumb? What mother wouldn’t snap if someone said that about her child?]
