The Villainess Cannot Escape — Five Beast Husbands Chase Her Madly-Chapter 74: A Matter of Life and Death: The Explosion of Night Abyss’s Beast Core
The command cave reeked of a pungent, rotten stench.
An old Light Brain flickered with a faint blue light in the corner.
Ah Jin excitedly lunged toward it, her fingers tapping rapidly on the dust-covered keyboard.
[Incorrect password.]
Undeterred, she entered another one.
The Light Brain flashed a piercing red alert:
[Warning: One more incorrect attempt will initiate the self-destruct sequence.]
Su An’an started to step forward, but Ah Jin stopped her with an outstretched arm.
"That’s the last try. You have to be absolutely sure before you do it."
Veins bulged on Ah Jin’s forehead as she muttered incessantly,
"Nieruo usually likes the number seven. It has to have a seven in it, and also..."
"It’s not that complicated."
Su An’an pushed Ah Jin aside. Enduring the splitting pain in her temples, she connected her Spiritual Power Tentacles to the Light Brain’s interface.
[DING-DONG! Threat alert. Hacker intrusion detected.]
The Light Brain’s screen flickered violently, its alternating red and blue light casting erratic shadows across the cave.
Then, a familiar electronic voice, mixed with Little Pink’s whimpering, sounded out:
[Princess, I’ve finally contacted you.]
[You must get an electronic chip implanted when you get back.]
[Otherwise, I’m really going to explode!]
Hearing this familiar nagging, Su An’an’s eyes instantly welled up.
It was like a traveler who had trekked through the desert for ages finally seeing an oasis.
Her voice trembling, she poured in more spiritual power:
’Little Pink, quickly contact Big Cat and the mermaid! Tell them to come save me!’
’Night Abyss went berserk to save me and has less than an hour left to live.’
’The poison in me is getting worse. I can only hold on for twenty minutes at most!’
[Princess, Big Cat, the mermaid, and Red Fox have been frantically searching for you outside.]
[They’ve already...]
Before Little Pink could finish, a grating KAKA sound suddenly came from the cave wall.
[Princess, get out of the way!]
Little Pink’s sharp electronic voice pierced Su An’an’s eardrums.
She reflexively severed the spiritual power link and dragged Ah Jin, stumbling back into a corner.
Amidst a deafening crash, a spiked lizard tail, like a giant flail, smashed through the cave wall.
It hammered the Light Brain into a pile of scrap and continued swinging toward Su An’an and Ah Jin.
A foul wind rushed toward them.
Su An’an’s pupils contracted, and Ah Jin froze completely.
In the nick of time, a massive flood dragon claw covered in black and purple scales shot through the air, sinking deep into the lizard’s tailbone and dragging it out.
"You... will... not... touch... her!"
Night Abyss single-handedly ripped the massive lizard tail off, splattering viscous green blood against the cave wall, which corroded it and sent up wisps of white smoke.
After going berserk again, Night Abyss stood a full three meters tall.
Dark purple veins bulged beneath his skin like coiled, slumbering dragons.
The light from the Beast Core on his neck was faint, yet it flickered stubbornly, like a candle flame about to be extinguished.
"Princess, let’s go to the female cave! It’s safer there!"
Ah Jin nervously grabbed Su An’an’s arm.
But Su An’an’s eyes were fixed on Night Abyss.
His back was covered in wounds so deep the bone was visible. Each one oozed purplish-black blood—a sign that his Beast Core was about to shatter.
"Go, now!"
Night Abyss gave Su An’an one last, deep look.
Su An’an saw his handsome, scale-covered face, his scarlet vertical pupils retaining only a sliver of clarity.
Night Abyss staggered toward Nieruo, his scales scraping against the ground and leaving a long trail of blood, desperately trying to form a shield of flesh and blood for Su An’an.
"Night Abyss!"
Su An’an shook off Ah Jin’s hand, a stubborn fire igniting in her eyes.
"I’m not leaving! I’m staying here with him!"
"You... Ugh!"
Ah Jin heaved a long sigh, her hoarse voice laced with self-mockery.
"It’s not like we can escape anyway. Getting to see Nieruo get beaten to a pulp like this is worth it, I guess."
The two of them hid in a safer corner, anxiously watching Night Abyss confront Nieruo.
"RAAAGH!"
Nieruo let out an enraged roar, using his spiritual power to control the Lizard Beast Soldiers.
"Beast Soldiers, go berserk! Kill him!"
The Lizard Beast Soldiers’ eyes turned bloodshot. After swallowing the spider hatchling eggs, their bodies became engorged with blood as they shot toward Night Abyss like arrows loosed from a bow.
Night Abyss’s skin cracked inch by inch as jet-black Bone Spikes erupted from his spine like a tidal wave, reflecting a chilling light in the fire’s glow.
His enormous body became a grim reaper’s scythe, every swing raising a crimson mist of blood.
The severed limbs of the Lizard Beast Soldiers fell like a torrential downpour.
"Damn you, Poisonous Flood Dragon! You’ve ruined my century-long plan! You’ve destroyed the elite of my spider nest! I’ll kill you! Mastermind fusion!"
Nieruo’s beast-like pupils shrank to pinpoints in fury. He shoved a spider egg, wrapped in scarlet tentacles, into his mouth.
This was a forbidden ritual to forcibly merge with the hive mind.
But as long as he could have his revenge, he was willing to pay any price.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The explosive sound of restructuring bones echoed from Nieruo’s body.
Countless red spider compound eyes sprouted from his human face, eighteen long, barbed legs tore through his skin, and his meter-long lizard tailbone jutted out, as menacing as a steel spear.
"Empire Executor, I admit you are strong, but this is the end for you."
Corrosive slime dripped from Nieruo’s mandibles as he casually grabbed a dying Lizard Beast Soldier and stuffed it into his mouth.
"Even if you kill all my Beast Soldiers, as long as the Heart-Eating Nightmare Spider hive mind and I still exist, we can endlessly trade for females with the Rebel Army."
"I will rebuild my clan, and you will become my food."
"Now, die!"
Night Abyss’s Bone Spikes trembled violently, but a cold smirk played on his blood-stained lips.
His figure moved like a lightning flash, his massive claws stabbing toward Nieruo’s temple.
Nieruo opened his cavernous maw. Foul-smelling, viscous green spider silk erupted like a living thing, instantly entangling Night Abyss’s limbs.
The slime from the silk seeped into his wounds, corroding his skin. It let off wisps of white smoke and an unnerving SIZZLE.
"Night Abyss!" A look of determination flashed in Su An’an’s eyes.
She once again condensed her Spiritual Power Tentacles and stabbed them toward the space between Nieruo’s eyebrows,
"Princess, the same trick won’t work on me."
Nieruo’s spider compound eyes glowed with a savage red light, his voice dripping with mockery.
Su An’an felt as if her head had been struck by a heavy hammer. Cold sweat instantly soaked her back, and she staggered, unable to stand steady.
"Anan!"
Night Abyss struggled frantically, black blood and bits of flesh dripping from the wounds on his shoulders.
But every ounce of effort only made the silk dig deeper into his flesh.
Nieruo looked at the two of them and let out a piercing, bizarre laugh.
"Look at this pair of star-crossed lovers. How touching!"
"Too bad your Female Master is about to become my plaything!"
He deliberately drew out his words, each one like a poison-dipped dagger:
"I’m going to pin her down in my nest and make her bear a pile of my mongrels until I’ve squeezed every last drop of value out of her!"
"The brats she bears, I’ll poison and brainwash them from birth and send them to the Imperial City as my inside agents."
"When the time is right, I’ll drag all those high-and-mighty females from the Imperial City to my nest."
"I’ll make them breeding tools for my Beast Soldiers!"
"By then, the entire Empire will be groveling at my feet!"
"And you, you damned Poisonous Flood Dragon, can only watch it all happen! Watch as I torture your Female Master until she’d rather be dead!"
A beast-like growl escaped Night Abyss’s throat.
Nieruo’s insulting words were like a poison-dipped dagger, cruelly carving into his heart.
He looked down at Su An’an’s pale face, his heart filling with endless tenderness and reluctance to leave her.
But in the next second, his gaze turned savage, and the aura around him surged violently.
"Since you’re so eager to die, then let’s go to Hell together!"
