The Villainess VTuber Rips People Apart-Chapter 83: Promotion
Serenade KR VTuber, Masina—real name Kim Garam—was screaming.
“See! I told you! I’m definitely gonna run into Aurora!!”
PTSD kicking in, lolHer designated nemesis has arrivedJust go ahead and schedule a collab already, lolIt’s fate; just accept it
Masina was in a promotion match, with two wins and two losses, now facing her final game.
As soon as she hit 2-2, anxiety kicked in. What if I run into Aurora in the last match? she thought.
And, sure enough, during the ban-pick phase, the enemy picked Phantom.
[It’s not confirmed yet.]
The calm voice belonged to Vincent.
Thanks to Masina’s outburst, Vincent had agreed to duo with her.
“No, really, he’s good! I’m telling you, Vincent!”
[Since when have I been your Vincent?]
Vincent replied with a slightly exasperated tone. He made a habit of putting up a solid wall whenever dealing with female VTubers. The tougher the wall, the better. Just minor interactions like this would have people shipping them.
While some were busy pairing them up, others were bound to complain.
Especially among Masina’s fanbase, some diehard unicorns would likely show up to trash-talk Vincent.
They might’ve even berated Masina herself, calling her degrading names for associating with a male VTuber.
Masina might not show it, but Vincent was aware of the issue. It was even more delicate given their differing nationalities.
He had to be extra cautious, and with Masina’s overly friendly approach, he worried about how her fans would interpret things.
“Anyway, I came fully prepared this time! Aurora, watch out! Our Great Vincent will set you straight!”
[Isn’t it you who should be setting her straight?]
Vincent selected his character, shaking his head at Masina’s bravado.
With the ban-pick phase complete, the loading screen appeared before them.
“...Wait, no way, did it really happen?”
After singing a song, I immediately jumped into ranked play.
Didn’t expect to do that well on my first try.
Although I was confident enough to give it a shot, I was surprised at how smoothly it went.
It’s probably because of the French. Oddly enough, I’m more comfortable with French than Japanese.
I am a noble lady, after all.
The language from that other world was quite close to French. I could easily understand it after hearing it once and felt confident singing this particular song.
Still, as a VTuber, I should probably practice a few Japanese songs.
Singing hadn’t been a focus for me, but it seemed impossible to avoid it now that I’d become a VTuber.
There are moments like recording an MV for Observing the Holy Body or collaborating on karaoke streams. I’ve also heard about VTuber concerts.
Events like the VTuber Music Fest, where you sing a few songs on stage, or even solo One-Man Lives.
Apparently, a One-Man Live is the pinnacle of VTuber content.
Maybe I should practice on the side.
I was a bit interested in the live events. After all, what would it be like for a duchess to sing and dance on stage? I’m flexible, after all.
And, to be honest, experiencing being an idol might be beneficial. I’d been debating between being a VTuber, streamer, pro-gamer, or idol. This could be a good chance to indirectly experience one of those paths.
It’d be fun to do a One-Man Live with the other sixth-generation members, too.
An AoiS One-Man Live.
Sora would definitely want to do a One-Man Live. Chel would likely join for survival’s sake. Inagika wouldn’t refuse, either.
But first, we need fame.
Putting on a One-Man Live would require significant funds and manpower, so our generation needs to prove itself profitable first.
The solution was simple: We just needed to become more popular.
By any means necessary.

【Gate Conquest Mode Promotion Match】
【 O O _ _ _ 】
And so began the last promotion match for Gate Conquest Mode.
Technically, it might not be the last. Losing would mean another round.
I had no intention of losing, though. Sora, Chel, and Anna were still singing away, so I needed to free them soon.
Even after this promotion match, I still had the Solo Duel Mode rank climb left.

“Hello!”
A female voice rang out as I entered the game.
Players starting with a greeting was common, but the fact that it was a woman was unusual.
These days, you can filter voices in games. Labyrinthos, being a game more geared toward men, often had players masking their identities.
“It’s Aurora, right? I’m watching your stream!”
She approached me with shabby clothes, a red cloak, and a single wooden staff.
One peculiar detail stood out—a floating creature next to her.
With flapping wings, it was unmistakably a dragon. Small, like a puppy. A hatchling.
It held a sword in its tail as it hovered.
A Dragon Rider.
The only character in Labyrinthos without passive skills, yet potentially the highest-value character in the game.
“Oh, are you a fan of mine?”
I smiled. Since debuting as a VTuber, I’d occasionally met fans like this in games.
When our eyes met, the Dragon Rider smiled back.
“Yes, I’m a fan! Good luck!” she said, bowing before wandering off.
That was odd. Fans usually wanted to chat more or got shy, showing some sort of reaction, but she was straightforward.
I glanced at the name above the Dragon Rider’s head.
【Sonna Rim_Serenade KR】
“Aha.”
A fellow VTuber, and a familiar name.
But who would’ve thought a VTuber from the famous corporation Serenade would be my fan?
It seemed inevitable; I’d enthralled yet another person. My talent truly is terrifying.
Though it was the first time I’d encountered a colleague like this, my approach remained the same. As usual, I detached from the main force.
-I love how chill she is, lol
-Say hi back, c’mon!
-Promotion match is more important, desu wa~
The chat was distracting, so I minimized it and walked on.
Phantom is a character that steals enemies' weapons. Until then, he’s barehanded.
Sure, you could take a talent that lets you start with throwable daggers, but it doesn’t change the fact that Phantom is weak early on.
Without weapons until Steal is available, you can’t hunt neutral mobs, so until you meet an enemy, you’re essentially a walking ward. Plus, he doesn’t even have a detection skill to make finding enemies easier.
The one redeeming factor is his quick movement.
Like when playing Dark Knight, I ignored the neutral mobs and ran around the map, scouting the enemy.
Was going to pick Dark Knight or Berserker.
For a promotion match, I wanted a character I was comfortable with.
But both were banned. Coincidentally.
-A sudden, stealthy movement came at me from the side.
Had I been careless, I might’ve been struck.
But I’d never let my guard down in a promotion match. There was no room for error from the beginning.
Expecting this, I’d invested in traits to detect danger. I grabbed the dagger aiming for my neck.
Steal.
I snatched the dagger and swung it immediately.
“Aah! Seriously!”
The assassin who tried to ambush me retreated with a groan.
“How did you notice?”
“Hello, Miss Shina.”
I assumed a poised stance and greeted her politely.
“Fancy meeting you here.”
“I’m not happy to see you! This is a promotion match!”
“Is that so? I’m in one too.”
Meaning I had no intention of backing down.
Masina.
From viewers, I’d heard she was a VTuber from Serenade KR. I’d run into her several times while climbing the ranks, and we’d exchanged a few words.
“Stop gaming so much! Go outside! Breathe fresh air! I don’t want to see you!”
“Oh, really? I’m pleased to meet you, Miss Shina. I win every time.”
“Ugh! Show some respect for your seniors!”
Masina suddenly vanished. She’d used her stealth skill.
I could sense her moving quickly around me, making it hard to pinpoint her position.
I’d heard she was a VTuber with the character setting of a “sealed demon god.” Her speech was lisped, her pronunciation was unclear, and she had a bit of a loli vibe. Her “cute chaos” had quite an appeal among fans.
Her demeanor and actions were cute, making it hard to take her seriously as a senior. But she was a skilled player, evidenced by her Diamond rank.
Fwoosh!
Masina tossed a few poison needles, followed by a shuriken.
With explosive speed, she circled behind me, aiming at my flank.
Within moments, she had three attacks lined up.
If I dodged the needles, Masina would strike from the side. If I blocked her, the shuriken would hit on a delay.
Such skills are only possible at Diamond rank.
My only thought was, if she was going to pull this, she should’ve done it from the start.
I tossed the dagger I’d taken earlier into the air.
Clang!

The shuriken clashed with the dagger and was deflected.
I dodged the needles and immediately rushed toward Masina.
She drew a new dagger, aiming for my stomach, but I caught her arm.
With that, I threw her over my shoulder.
“Kyaaa?!”
Thud!
Masina’s back slammed into the ground.
I disarmed her with a swift move.
“Good job. Any last words?”
“...I really hate you.”
“Is that so?”
Shunk!
I drove the dagger into Masina’s neck.
“What a shame. I actually quite liked you, Miss Shina.”
Your team’s Phantom has defeated the enemy Assassin.
The enemy Beast Tamer has defeated your Saint.
The enemy Mage has defeated your Heavy Knight.
The enemy Mage has defeated your Martial Artist.
The enemy Dual Swordsman has defeated your Archer.
“...Huh?”
Why is the kill log so long?
