The Villain's Apocalypse-Chapter 54: Academy
Chapter 54: The Academy
A young man with luscious golden blonde hair and shimmering golden eyes, adorning a regal dark gold outfit, stood tall and firm beneath a pair of towering quartz pillars. The pillars were made of unbreakable quartz metal, and several multicolored gems were etched on them alongside an intricate runic carving that glowed faintly with silver light under the morning sun.
The man had a faint smile stretched across his face as he rubbed his chin thoughtfully, his eyes bubbling with excitement and amusement.
’I can’t believe a week just passed by. It feels like just yesterday that I had arrived here.’
He thought, shaking his head in exasperation. The time has finally come for him to enter the Academy and meet with the main cast. Although he already possesses most of the information about them in his memories. Still, meeting with a character that he had only ever read about in a book first-hand will be quite a unique experience.
’Hopefully, their personality remains the same.’
Lowering his hand, he gently patted the hilt of his sword, which hung loosely on his waist. The sword was sheathed inside a long, obsidian-black scabbard, etched with tiny gems and rubies. The sword’s hilt looked out of the ordinary, with its soft leather-bound handle and a crimson orb, etched right in the middle.
’I don’t know if it’s a good idea to wield Genesis openly.’ He had protested about it with Alexander, but he simply passed him the scabbard and told him that it was okay.
’The Royal Treasury is quite mysterious, huh?. It even has something capable of hiding the presence of a divinity. Although Genesis has grown stronger since I brought it out from the dungeon. I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing...’
He was worried about his own safety, considering the spirit of the sword was a crafty and cunning old man.
"I have to collect all the fragments before he awakens. Only cosmic energy can subdue a cosmic entity."
Shaking his head, he placed those thoughts at the back of his mind and gave a final look at the Royal Capital. "Thankfully, I woke up my mother before leaving, else Amelia wouldn’t have let me."
It took almost an entire day to convince her that he was leaving for the Academy, and still, she was angry with him.
"Uncle Armes, please take care of my little sister during my absence."
"It’s my duty, your highness." He bowed slightly and offered a kind smile to him.
Before entering, he recalled his last conversation with Seraphina.
’Have a safe journey, son. I will miss you.’ She smiled, gently embracing him in a hug.
That moment lingered in his mind. Seraphina’s warmth—her concern and love—was something that still felt foreign, even now. In his previous life, such emotions were rare. Fleeting. But here... they clung to him.
He exhaled slowly, clearing his thoughts. There was no room for hesitation anymore. His goals had already been set, and this was just another step forward.
"Uncle, I’m ready." He responded, nodding his head. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Immediately, the pillars started emitting a low humming sound and echoed within the entire building. A series of silver light flashed across the runic carvings, and slowly, an ethereal portal manifested before his eyes. The portal was majestic, with countless star-like particles twinkling together to form a grand view of the cosmic sky.
"Is that a black hole?" His thoughts drifted toward a pitch-black emptiness, wriggling silently on the corner of the starry sky. The abyssal entity throbbed quietly like a human heart, rippling the space around it with each passing heartbeat. His eyes remained glued on that entity as a subtle feeling of longing and sadness washed over him. He extended his hand in an attempt to reach out to that said entity.
"My Lord, the cosmos is filled with miraculous creatures, but not all of them are kind towards us, the awakened ones. I hope you stay away from anything related to such beings until you’re strong enough."
Armes’s old voice resounded within his mind, instantly breaking him away from his stupor. He blinked twice and stared at his extended arm, feeling a chill run down his spine.
"Cosmic Horrors..." He muttered, his voice filled with pure fear. He had forgotten how chaotic and unnerving the cosmos was–a place filled with unspeakable horrors and unfathomable entities.
He was reminded again of how forsaken this world truly was and how much stronger he had to become in order to truly achieve his goal.
"I will meet you someday, Lily."
He thanked Armes for his timely reminder and focused his mind from straying away any further.
"What is this thing?"
"The Space-Alteration artifact, or in simple terms, the Teleportation portal."
"But the teleportation portals at other places were–
"Yes, those are different. Those portals merely compress the space around them for swift travel. They are like an inferior version of this portal."
"What’s the difference then?"
Armes gave him a peculiar look before continuing, "The Space-Alteration Artifact can teleport an individual to their desired location using a space dimension as a medium. That’s the reason it sometimes attracts the attention of some cosmic entities."
"Ohh, it’s this thing." A look of understanding appeared on his face. He had heard about this thing being mentioned in the novel, but it was quite a short description. To be honest, He didn’t care much about reading the description of it either. I mean, who in their right mind would think they would get reincarnated into the novel that they were reading? Would you?
"You should leave," Armes suggested, feeling quite of lot of inquisitive stares from outside.
"Ah, Yes. Goodbye, Uncle." Waving his hand, he took a single step and...
woosh–!
His feet landed on completely unfamiliar territory.
ughh..
Feeling groggy and nauseous from the sudden space shift, he leaned onto some kind of pole and took a few minutes to regulate his breathing.
inhale
exhale
"He should have at least warned me about the sudden shift." He muttered, feeling his stomach all churned up and jumbled together. He felt like throwing up.
’No, I have a reputation to maintain here. Buckle up.’ Slapping himself lightly, he slowly stood up and dusted off his clothes despite it being perfectly clean.
"You done?"
"I’m almost done, thank–Who are you?" He retreated a few steps backward and inquired, his voice turning sharp and commanding, befitting of the Crown Prince of the Strongest Empire.
