The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 378: It’s beautiful
Chapter 378: It’s beautiful
The Ladies of the Moon, the ritualist cult, of which he had limited knowledge because of how they operate. There were already sorcerers who posed a greater danger than a bunch of bloodthirsty women.
Cedric had already considered the possibility but could not think of the relationship between the sorcerers and the cult.
"What did Betty dream about?" He asked Abrielle. The princess nodded, then turned towards him, ready to share the story.
"She said in her dream, her sister approached her to warn her that the ladies of the moon are after me, but why would they need me?" Abrielle summarised everything in a few words. Cedric was not surprised, knowing what he had discovered from the ones he had killed.
"That’s something we don’t have answers to," Cedric replied, and he walked up to her side and squatted before her.
"It’s almost dawn, you should try sleeping," Cedric suggested. He had come early to watch her sleep, hoping it would keep his mind in check before he left.
He didn’t know what was wrong with him. Cedric thought he would not be affected by Kaiden’s condition but he was so wrong. He was plagued by the thought that Kaiden was sick.
"I can’t sleep, my mind is just spinning." She answered. Cedric held her hand, "You shouldn’t think about it." He stood up still holding her hand.
"Come with me," he said. Cedric pulled her hand, leading her out of her room. She followed him barefoot on the cold marble floor.
The cold floor felt nice under her feet. She missed walking barefoot.
Cedric led her to a balcony. The cold night breeze blew across her face. She was forced to close her eyes when some of her hair entered her eyes.
Her feet were swept off the ground causing her to almost scream. "What are you doing?" She asked subconsciously, wrapping her hands around his neck.
"Taking you somewhere." A strong wind hit her face, and large, dark wings emerged from his back. She remembered the first time she saw them. So they were real.
"Can I touch them?" She asked, reaching out for the black feather. It felt like they had a mind of their own. The wings moved away. "My wings are sensitive," Cedric said
His wings flapped heavily, riding the wind, and they took off. He was so fast she could not even keep up, her eyes pressed together to prevent the wind from coming into her eyes.
The wind stopped and he slowed down. His wings started to flap lightly. Abrielle slowly opened her eyes. Her gaze fell on his calm face. He was looking ahead. Cedric didn’t have a mask on so she was tempted to touch his face.
"You are beautiful," she blurted before realising. Cedric scoffed, he knew his face was more on the beautiful side than the handsome side.
"I guess I have a face that rivals yours." He teased and she nervously laughed. "I doubt that, if you ever have a daughter who looks like you. She will be the cause of wars." Abrielle laughed off.
She was pretty but Cedric was something more. He had the type of face that could make both a man and a woman jump at him. "I guess our future daughter will be the reason for heartbreaks." Her cheeks went red, realising what he meant..
She averted her eyes to hide the red shade which he had already seen. That was when it struck her. They were flying in the sky. They were miles above the ground.
Her hands tightened around his neck, afraid he might drop her. Her actions made him chuckle lightly. "I won’t drop you but I like how you cling like a bear." Her eyes narrowed. When did bears get clingy?
Her cheeks were puffed. She looked ahead, the air felt fresh and the moon was close. So close it felt like she could grasp it. "Aren’t you scared that someone will see us?"
She asked, Imagine how scary that might be. "We are so high up they will think it is a bird. At this speed, they won’t see us." He explained, but who cares?
Cedric flew towards the mountains and landed on a cliff. Abrielle thought he would put away his wings immediately but he let it be.
The cliff was very close to the moon, with a view of the entire city below them. It was beautiful how it met the horizon.
They sat down next to each other and just watched for a while before Abrielle spoke again.
"Do you come here frequently?" He asked, she gazed at him, her heart stolen by how the moon softly touched his face. He was moon-kissed. It was so unfair for a man to be this beautiful.
Cedric and Lucian had different charms. Lucian looked regal and charming, but he was seductive and beautiful. He did look like a cunning villain.
"I come here at night I feel lost and can’t sleep." He mentioned, she leaned on his shoulders, trying to take in his scent. Cedric leaned back and made her rest on his thighs instead. She curled up lying on the floor while resting her head on his thighs.
His fingers were brushing through his hair softly. "The sun will be up soon. It’s going to be a beautiful sight."
"Then I will wait," Abrielle answered, staring at the horizon.
She tried staying away, but she slowly drifted away into her slumber. Cedric watched her, his mind at peace. He was going to go for a while, but this will be over soon, even if he has to destroy their cities in a day because he can.
Abrielle felt a soft kiss on her eyes waking her from her slumber. "Cedric." She called him slowly. His face was so close it felt like a dream state.
"I didn’t want you to miss it," Cedric said then looked ahead. She followed his gaze and her eyes slowly went wide. The sun rays were peeking out of the horizon as he rose.
This was the first sunrise she had seen. The hue slowly covered the entire city. "It is truly beautiful." She gushed.
"Yes, it is," Cedric answered, but he wasn’t watching the sun in the sky, but the sun on his thighs who was smiling sweetly.
