Chapter 490: Chapter 365: Shattered

Somewhere in the dense forest, Zeke was squatting by the creek, carefully brewing some medicine, with an expression of utmost seriousness.

His technique in brewing was exceedingly skillful, clearly not his first time doing this.

Seeing the medicine almost ready, he was about to pour it out to drink.

Suddenly, footsteps sounded from behind.

He quickly hid the medicine pot behind him, looking warily at the newcomer.

Seeing it was Luna Sutton, he froze momentarily, a few shades of embarrassment appearing on his handsome face, "Luna, why are you here?"

Naturally, Luna noticed his sneaky motion to hide the medicine and rolled her eyes, "If I didn’t come, you’d drink this random medicine, wouldn’t you? Zeke, you’re perfectly fine. You’ll have children sooner or later. Why drink this weird stuff?"

Zeke pursed his lips stubbornly, "But I want us to have our little ones soon."

"Why are you in such a rush? This sort of thing should happen naturally."

Rendered speechless, she walked over, intending to take the medicine pot from behind him, "Give me the medicine already, you can’t just drink this stuff randomly."

But Zeke suddenly stood up and began to run.

"Zeke, stop right there."

She was both frustrated and amused, quickly chasing after him.

This medicine truly shouldn’t be drunk on a whim; even if you have no illness, it might give you one.

Hearing the commotion behind him, Zeke ran even faster.

The medicine had been painstakingly brewed, and he absolutely had to drink it today, although the pot was rather hot.

Yet no matter how hot it was, he wouldn’t let go, grinning and grimacing as he clutched it.

He darted rapidly through the forest, his emerald beast robe fluttering.

One ran ahead, the other chased behind.

To Luna, Zeke seemed so cold, yet he could be this childish. How is he different from a rebellious teenager?

And Zeke, being an eleventh-rank Beastman, was no easy match; no matter how she chased, she couldn’t catch up.

She was soon out of breath, panting like crazy. Suddenly reminded of something, she used Sound Transmission Skill to shout directly, "Stop!"

The voice exploded instantly in Zeke’s mind.

The sudden sound startled Zeke into a twitch, and in his reckless haste, he accidentally collided with a tree trunk, the pot in his hand flew out.

"Bang."

Zeke’s expression changed drastically, inwardly thinking: My medicine is gone.

Ignoring the pain in his forehead, he was about to leap forward to catch the pot.

Kian Sterling’s figure appeared out of nowhere, his two fox tails whipping out steadily to catch the pot.

The medicine pot was freshly brewed, the medicine yet to be poured out, the pot scorching hot.

Hurriedly, he used his hand for support.

Picking two large leaves to pad underneath, it didn’t feel as hot.

He somewhat regretted catching the pot, but he couldn’t just toss it away.

Instead, he looked at Zeke with a playful smugness, "Why does this medicine smell like The Old Shaman’s ’Hundred Sons and Thousand Grandsons Soup’?"

"Old fox, give me back my medicine."

Zeke’s handsome face flushed crimson, reaching for it.

"Why the hurry?"

Kian suddenly performed a trick, pulling out a bunch of something, "Adding this will make it taste better and be more effective for pregnancy."

Luna took a closer look, almost bursting into laughter, that was clearly Huang Lian.

Does this old fox have to be so wicked?

Zeke’s face turned as dark as a pot bottom, lips gritting, "Old fox, you’re looking for trouble."

Kian laughed, his fox tails swaying wildly, pretended to lift the lid to throw Huang Lian into the pot, "No need for courtesy, this is premium Huang Lian picked up from The Royal City, specially for infertility..."

"Cure your head!"

Zeke darkly rushed forward to grab it.

Their to-and-fro tussle, ten fox tails and emerald beast robe fluttered wildly.

The pot drew a thrilling arc through the air.

Seeing this scene, she was dumbfounded, how did things devolve like this?

"Crash!"

In an unguarded moment, the pot fell from the air, shattered instantly, medicine splashing everywhere.

"My medicine!"

Zeke’s eyes immediately reddened, heartache beyond words.

Kian hadn’t expected this, feeling slightly sheepish, he touched his nose, "Well... so it shattered. You couldn’t drink that medicine anyway."

Luna said it shouldn’t be drunk, what does that sham of a witch doctor know anyway, his medical skills aren’t half as good as Luna’s.

Zeke glared at the splattered medicine on the ground, his verdant eyes almost shooting daggers: "Old fox, I’m not finished with you."

His fingertips summoned Wind Blades, ’whooshing’ straight at Kian.

Kian’s power was only rank nine, while Zeke was an eleventh-rank Beastman.

If it really comes down to it, Kian Sterling is absolutely not a match.

Kian Sterling obviously knows this, and he also knows Zeke Veridian has a bad habit of cutting people’s hair. To avoid ending up with the same dog-chewed style short hair as Malachi Arcanus, his ten tails suddenly flared up, deflecting the flying Wind Blades.

Afterwards, he quickly hid behind Luna Sutton, looking guilt-ridden.

"Luna said you couldn’t drink it, but you insist on drinking, forcing me to be the bad guy."

Kian Sterling said, tapping his nose, inexplicably feeling a bit guilty.

Then he looked at Luna Sutton, coughed dryly, and said: "Well... Luna, I’ll head back first."

Before he finished speaking, he had already vanished from where he stood.

Zeke Veridian stared in the direction where Kian Sterling disappeared, his emerald eyes slightly cold, the Wind Blades at his fingertips spinning fiercely, looking ready to chase and shave someone at any moment.

Luna Sutton couldn’t help but laugh and cry, quickly grabbing his hand, "Alright, alright, he’s already run away. Are you really going to chase him down and shave his hair off?"

Zeke Veridian pursed his lips, saying sullenly: "He deserves it."

She shook her head helplessly, pulling him back, "It’s actually good that the medicine’s gone, you’re perfectly healthy, don’t need to drink those bizarre concoctions, don’t ruin your well-conditioned health."

Zeke Veridian lowered his gaze, his voice a few degrees softer: "I just..."

"Just what?"

She raised an eyebrow at him.

Zeke Veridian was silent for a moment, then suddenly raised his eyes, his emerald gaze fixing on her, his voice slightly hoarse: "It’s just seeing each of them having kids, while I alone don’t, it bothers me, doesn’t it?"

"Even if you’re anxious, you can’t just drink random medicine."

She shook her head and laughed, "Though it was prescribed by the witch doctor, it should be fine. But medicine is still toxic to a degree, better not to take it if possible."

Zeke Veridian also realized he had been too anxious, suddenly feeling a bit regretful inside.

Thankfully that medicine was knocked over by the old fox and wasn’t consumed; if Luna truly is right, and it damaged a healthy body, wouldn’t that be a loss?

Just about to say something.

Suddenly inundated by chattering noise whispered in:

Corbin Crowley, hidden who-knows-where, transmitted a voice, low-toned and teasing: "I hear someone’s gone crazy wanting to be a dad?"

Followed by Malachi Arcanus’s voice, sounding schadenfreude: "Hahaha... even the poisoned bamboo has his day."

Soren Phoenix’s flamboyant voice also echoed faintly in Zeke Veridian’s mind: "Tsk tsk... so pathetic, Pip, do you need the wisdom of childbearing from this Clan Leader?"

Mael Valerius’s transmission was straightforward: "Heh."

Though it was merely a cold scoff, it felt more potent than any words could.

Rhys Blackwood’s transmission was even more cutting: "I wouldn’t mind if the kid recognized you as godfather."

Zeke Veridian was irritated by the incessant transmitted voices, his face turning dark, temples throbbing.

He realized that the commotion earlier attracted them all.

No way they’re going to see his joke.

Zeke Veridian’s face alternated between shades of green and white, suddenly spun and lifted Luna Sutton horizontally, directly transmitting to all: "I’ll show you tonight what ’letting nature take its course’ means."

Luna Sutton was startled by the sudden action, instantly looping her arms around Zeke Veridian’s neck to avoid falling, glaring at him with a flushed face: "What are you doing? Put me down."

"Not putting down."

With a grim face, Zeke Veridian said, not only did he not release her, he hugged her even tighter.

Then he walked off with her, striding widely, completely ignoring the various teasing and mocking voices echoing in his mind.

Corbin Crowley and the others emerged from behind the tree, watching their departing backs, feeling a wave of envy.

With Zeke Veridian’s turn tonight, it was obvious what was going to happen.

......

Night fell, silence pervaded everywhere.

Zeke Veridian indeed did as he said, worked hard the whole night.

So much so, that the next day, Luna Sutton almost couldn’t get out of bed, her back aching severely.

Quietly, she cursed Zeke Veridian a thousand times, vowing to give the bastard a hard time later.

Unfortunately, by the time she got up, the culprit probably knowing she would seek revenge later, had vanished early, didn’t even show up for breakfast.

Luna Sutton sat in place, looking at Zeke Veridian’s empty seat, grinding her teeth in anger.

Kian Sterling chuckled, offering her a piece of beast meat, "Don’t be mad, getting upset harms the body, here, have some meat to replenish."

Malachi Arcanus was simply eating silently, occasionally sneaking glances at her, afraid her anger might lash out on him.

Corbin Crowley’s face was faintly dark, his room was right opposite Luna’s.

Even without deliberately eavesdropping, the commotion was clearly audible in his ears, keeping him restless all night.

Strictly speaking, ever since Luna ended her confinement, he hadn’t slept soundly.

Every night compelled to hear those chaotic noises, yet unable to do anything, it’s an indescribable form of torment.

He used to think living in this room was good, being the closest to Luna, a symbol of being the first Beast Husband.

But now realizing that living here truly isn’t good at all, every night burning with evil thoughts, severely impacting sleep.

Honestly, he’d rather live upstairs.

At least it would be quieter.
