The Wolfless Luna's Revenge: Returning With His Secret Twins-Chapter 259
[ALPHA DOMINIC’s Point of View]
It was bad.
Really bad.
I wanted to think it was all a trap, and the only person I could blame for this terrible idea was Killian!
I shot a glare at Killian from the corner of my eyes. I was full of anger. I was filled with fear and hate because I couldn’t believe I had allowed him to lead us all into this situation. I let him lead Samantha to believe we could trust him when deep inside me, I knew there was something wrong with him.
My wolf was telling me Killian was hiding something from us, and that’s what I needed to find out!
When Richard Bennette stepped out of the shadows of the cursed wolves, I thought at first I had seen a ghost. I was petrified at first, confused if my eyes were deceiving me. But no. He was real! And he was standing in front of all of us with his arm around the poor kid’s throat, and I couldn’t move. I couldn’t think for a second because I was scared for the child’s life.
Because I knew if I moved a bit, Bennette would kill the boy. That’s how evil he was.
What terrified me more was when I saw my wife jumping from the spot where Killian and I had left her and the children. I was clear when I asked her not to show herself, but she never listened.
Well, what was the last time she did what I told her, though?
None! She never follows orders!
Samantha had the replica of the Moonlight Mirror in her hand. I didn’t waste any second and knew I had to protect her immediately, so I made sure I was close to her.
With sharp eyes and cautious steps, I walked backwards until I was in front of my wife. I had to be on alert in case Richard Bennette ever thought of attacking her. I would never allow something like that to happen when I’m around!
[You shouldn’t have done that...] I said to my wife, suppressing my anger as she stepped forward with the mirror in her hand. [I told you to stay with the kids.]
[I have no choice. He will kill the child, Dominic!] She hissed at me without looking in my direction. She didn’t want Richard Bennette to see that we were communicating through our bond link. [I will grab the child before he can see that the mirror is fake.]
Samantha was fast, and I knew she could do it. But something in me was skeptical about the plan, so I remained beside her despite her moving forward towards Richard.
[I can do it, Dominic! Just stay there. I don’t want Bennette to panic when you get near him.]
Grunting in frustration, I hated that Samantha was right. With me and my anger, I don’t think Bennette would think straight once he saw how much I wanted to rip him into pieces.
Samantha let out a deep breath to calm herself, and then she started walking again towards the old traitor. My eyes didn’t leave her until she was in front of the old man, trying to negotiate with him.
Until I saw my wife grab the kid away from Bennette so fast I almost missed it. The next thing I saw was when she tossed the child into the air, and Killian caught him, protecting him instantly as Samantha stepped back and jumped away from Bennette and his shadow werewolf guards.
The sound of something shattered on the ground followed. My whole body tensed as I watched my wife in midair, like everything went into slow motion. The shadow werewolf jumped towards her; its teeth flashed as it aimed to bite Samantha on her torso, ready to tear her in half.
My body moved on its own. Like, my very instinct was to protect my Luna with everything I had. I knew I wouldn’t make it in time, but I put all my strength into my hind legs and sprang towards the beast, my claws slicing its face. As he lost his balance due to the pain, I made sure Samantha safely landed on my side, like she landed on soft fur.
“Dominic!” she exclaimed in shock as the adrenaline started to show on her face. “Thank you!”
[Let’s finish this now.] I gritted my teeth and stood on my four legs beside her as soon as she regained her balance and was ready to fight. [Let’s get rid of this scum!]
“How dare you bring a fake one!” Richard Bennette’s eyes turned crimson in anger as he glared at me, and I couldn’t help the satisfaction I felt when I saw the defeat on his face once again. A taunting grin tugged at my lips, which made the old traitor grow even more furious, causing his body to shake as he roared.
Samantha quickly went to the child and threw her arms around him protectively, and I thought my heart melted. My wife always had a soft heart—a kind heart, which I never had. She was my cure for my blackened heart caused by so many pains, and my life would never be better if I had never had her with me.
She was my Garden of Eden.
“Take the child away from here, Samantha!” Killian shouted before he shifted into his wolf form and started fighting back the Shadow Werewolves that jumped onto him. “Take them away from here as far as you can!”
Samantha was about to run with the child, but in a matter of seconds, we were already surrounded by the enemy, leaving us no chance to get out of their camp.
“I can’t go out!” Samantha started to panic as she held the boy protectively in her arms.
Killian and I began to engage the enemies around us one-on-one, hoping to give Samantha a chance to escape the camp and reach the twins so they could also get out of that place. At the same time, we tried to get rid of the shadow werewolves to stop the beasts from going after them. But it felt as if the fight had no ending. There were too many of them, and Killian and I couldn’t keep up with their numbers.
Because of the previous injuries Killian and I got from the poisoned arrows and the curse, I felt that both of us started to slow down after almost an hour of defending my wife from the shadow werewolves. I was growing increasingly impatient because all I wanted was to kill Richard Bennette! I couldn’t believe he survived what happened at the Wolf Altar!
“DAD!!!”
I thought my heart sank in my stomach when I heard Diana’s little voice screaming for help. Killian and Samantha turned their heads sharply, too, and we all saw a Black Claw grabbing Devon and Diana from the tree where Samantha had left them.
My blood drained from my face, and my body trembled.
“NO!” I roared in blinding fear and anger. In a matter of seconds, I was already in that spot, knocking the Black Claw away from my twins, and didn’t care if arrows were flying straight to me, piercing me on my hind leg and left rib. The adrenaline that pumped in my veins made my body numb from the pain for a while. All I thought was to save Devon and Diana and nothing else.
I turned around to go to the kids when I felt a hot gush on my back and realized that the Black Claw wasn’t still dead and had sliced my back with its massive claws.
Fueled by anger and my desire to protect all the loved ones trapped in this place, I lunged at the Black Claw and bit its head off its shoulders. I felt terrible that the kids had to witness such horror from me, but I had no other way of getting rid of the bastard. I saw Diana’s and Devon’s eyes widen, their faces white as they watched the thick blood splattered on my face.
“No...” the word escaped from my lips as my vision started to blur, and the pain all over my body felt like I was being burned alive.
With the strength that was still left in me, I protectively shielded Devon and Diana underneath me and threatened to kill anyone who would go anywhere near us. A minute later, I saw Samantha hurry towards us with the child still in her arms and go straight to our twin, checking on them.
“Dominic, you are badly hurt!” Samantha’s face was filled with guilt and fear when our eyes met. Her lips trembled. “This is all my fault...”
“No,” I answered with a hoarse voice, trying my hardest to ignore the pain. “Don’t ever blame yourself for caring for people. I will be alright.”
I saw her eyes well up with emotion as she embraced all the children and then stared at me as tears rolled down her face.
To my surprise, Samantha bit her finger and dripped her blood onto the wound of my hind leg. White light flashed from the gush of the wound as my Luna’s blood cleansed the curse that was starting to spread all over me. I saw how my wounds healed a little faster than they normally would. Strength began to return, and I felt like I could fight a horde of Black Claws and the Shadow Werewolves once again.
Not long after, Killian had decided to go with us. He had several injuries already and was catching his breath. “Come on, Samantha! Follow me with the kids! We have to take them out of here!”
Hearing those words from him only put more paranoia in my head, and I growled, “We will leave together!”
“We have no time for this, Dominic!” Killian snarled at me, “I don’t think I can hold them back, but you can! We have to think of Samantha and the kids to get them out of here!”
“There’s no way they would go anywhere without me, Killian,” I warned him not to argue about it with me again because I had no plan to let my family go with him. Never! 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Killian seemed enraged by my decision and snarled.
“We’re not leaving, Uncle Killian! We are staying with Mom and Dad!” It was Devon screaming that made me and Killian freeze.
Until I felt that great power surging from the camp of the enemies, and I saw a giant Black wolf, surrounded by thick, dark mist. It was glaring at all of us with a death promise in its sharp, purple eyes.
“Bennette!” I snarled under my breath as I glared back at him. I could smell the stench of evil all over the place.
