The World's most Overpowered Side-Character-Chapter 427: Bury the Light.
"Do you think it will be as easy as you make it seem?" Giza chuckled, tapping her fingers against the slowly drifting rock. "Even if I want to support you, I have alredy told you the difficulty of infiltration, especially if your plan is to take his power, Zan’el is more likely to kill you."
"Even with the dark mana?" Umbra raised his head, smirking at the irony behind her words. "You’re the one who told me that dark mana is uncontested by anything but the light... Giza, you;ve changer ever since that day."
"Changed, me?" The eminence of darkness sat forward. "That is impossible, I do not change, I cannot-"
"I’m telling you that you have." He clicked his tongue, annoyed. "When we just met, you were dead set of achieving your goals, but over the last two years I have watched your momentum come to a halt, and it all comes back to the day Sol Vestic ran away from the grand collective."
He stepped off his half and reached for her hair, taking a lock of th eblue in his grasp and pulling her onto himself.
"This; ever since this happened, you’ve been a different person, I have said this multiple times already but you still refuse to see it from my point of view, you show fondness to the enemy, you reluctantly destroy anything at all! You have become a soft shell of what you previously were."
"N-no... that’s not-"
"What did he do to you, Giza, what did that bastard do to you?"
Reminded of that day, the Eminence slowly placed her hand on her cheek and Umbra before her watched in shock as her entire body slowly warmed and a shimmer of light flickered and then withered from the blue highlights in her hair.
Her cheeks became rosy and her lips flushed out leaving the man even more speechless watching her transform into a normal-looking person before his eyes.
"What the fuck...?"
"I am unsure of what happened," She answered, slowly pushing him away from herself and holding on to the small bit of warmth inside of her, hugging herself to prevent the embers from going out.
"-Get rid of that, what the hell are you doing?" Umbra swiftly approached her again, grabbing her hand and placing his other against her abdomen where she had hugged, attempting to burn the light away.
"S-stop!" Giza snapped, grabbing his wrist and twisting his hand behind him so hard his shoulder dislocated, then pushing him away and retreating paces away, shielding the small core of light with her hands while her dark mana slowly sheltered it again. "Do not do that."
"How didn’t I see it before, he corrupted you with that disgucting thing, and you’ve been nursing it like a fucking child inside of you!" Umbra snapped his arm back into place with a grunt and pointed at her. "You have fallen to his level!"
"I would never!" She shook her head furiously, making wide gestures with her hands spread wide. "It’s only there because I get the feeling that I can’t remove it without harming myself, I know it’s light, but so what if it is?"
"It’s changing you!"
"I am the same as I have always been, My Lord!"
"Listen... Just listen to yourself, you’re defending the same thing you set out to destroy, what the fuck!?"
"We can make compromises, can we not? I will serve you as I always have and in return you let me keep it for the time being, at least until you have achieved your goals-"
"It’s not the same, Giza, we are darkness, absolute darkness, where we exist there can be no light, not even a sliver of it, let alone a manifestation of it in your womb... we don’t know what it will do to you later on!"
"But-"
"Kill it!"
"Please!" She hugged herself again, folding into a ball and shrowding her body with her hair. "Please, just listen, I am still the same, I am still in control-"
In Giza’s momentary lapse of defence, Umbra grabbed her hair from behind, pulled her from her curl and slammed his hand against her back unleashing a wave of black mana directly into her, forcing the small orb of light out of her abdomen and into the open.
"Umbra!" Giza spun ready to grab it again, but found both the light and the man gone.
"I can’t have you harbouring feelings for this thing, for Sol’s powers, you fool, this is and always was a trap." He raise his hand revealing light coming through the cracks of his fist. "This has weakened you." He made one last comment before smashing it into bits and then using his Dark mana to erode and kill the embers before they formed again.
"You..." Giza grabbed him by the shirt, slamming him into the small half of a pigmi planet that had been floating and shattering it. "You...!" She stared up at him feeling the last of the warmth that had kept her company for nearly two years get washed away by the cold of her power.
"You..." She lowered her head, weakly releasing his shirt when he showed no resistance and pressing her forehead against his chest.

"Are you back to normal now?" Umbra asked, sensing her mana surging and falling with every breath she took. "Giza?" He called, resting his hands on her shoulders and slightly shaking her. "Have you come to your senses?"
"...Yes," She answered, wrapping her hands around him and keeping their position for a minute longer before backing away and pointing behind him. "The Emporium’s ruler is in that direction, I will have you before him in a month, my lord," She lowered her hand and held on to his.
"Are you sure you’re back to normal?" Umbra locked his fingers with hers, staring at her seriously. "I don’t want any more distractions.
"It’s all gone," She held up her hair, watching as the last strand turned to black and staring at the flush of life in her fingers get washed away by her usual corpse-like grey. "You buried the light, every last drop of it."
"Good," The man chuckled. "Lead the way, the sooner we get there the sooner we can start planning."
