"More beautiful gems, tsk, tsk, little sister, if I didn't know better I would think that you owned a couple of mines at home."

Tai Ho Sun looked at the rubies in front of him and he smiled obscenely. The smile stretched from ear to ear, which resulted in Caishen frowning even more than he had done when they met him at the same hotel where they were supposed to meet madam Qian.

"I do." Alix responded freely, in a child like voice infused with enthusiasm.

Caishen rolled his eyes and glared at her.

"Talk properly." he whispered to her.

Even though he was whispering, his voice was loud enough to be carried into Tai Ho Sun's ears.

Tai Ho Sun saw an opportunity to tease the cold brother-in-law who didn't spare a smile for him even out of courtesy and he decided to take advantage of it and tease him.

"Ooh, little sis, does this mean I can retire and live off you from now on?"

"As if anyone can drag you away from this job. Have you ever seen your face when you see uncut stones of any type?" she replied.

He shook his head and pushed out his bottom lip in a child like manner.

"Mmm, but I want to live off of you now." he said, with a lisp.

Alix chuckled and covered her mouth. Her laughter, was still loud enough to pull the attraction of the three guests in the restaurant of the hotel.

It's loudness also irked Caishen. What was so funny about a grown man talking like a child? Was he trying to be a professional comedian?

"Big brother!!, you are so funny. I haven't laughed this much for a stupid reason in so long." Alix removed her hand from her mouth and said.

Tai Ho Sun's eyebrows danced comedically and he grinned. "Does this mean I can live off you for the rest of my life and work as your personal comedian?"

"I don't know, how much do you cost? I will not take you if you are expensive." she teased back.

"Just give me food, I am easy to please. You will never find a cheap but handsome personal laughing butler like me." he replied.

"Laughing butler!!" she said, and laughed some more.

Enough! Caishen screamed in his mind. Was she a laughing machine that had been stocked full of endless ha-ha-ha's? Why didn't she laugh this much when she was with him? Where were the ha-ha-ha's when they were alone?

"The lawyer is here." he said. His tone carried a relief that he didn't even realize. His face also relaxed.

Caishen's back was facing one of the large windows which allowed him to see Jacob Hai Tao walking in. He was not alone as he arrived with three other people.

"Mr. Tai..." Caishen said.

"Call me big brother." Tai Ho Sun told Caishen casually.

Caishen's body tensed up and his face froze for a split second. He was sure that he and Tai Ho Sun were of the similar age. Why then, would he call the other big brother? He didn't refer to his own blood related big brother Zhang Bo as such.

"No thank you." he answered with a smile.

"But you are my brother-in-law, my darling little sister's husband or should I say hubby Zhang." Tai Ho Sun pushed.

Caishen's eyebrows shot upward while Alix's eyes became round and saucer-like.

"Big brother," she called out. "Stop teasing my hubby. We have some serious business matters to attend to and you said you have dinner with grandpa later."

She touched her bag and brought out two green apples.

"One for grandpa and one for grandma." she said as she handed them to him.

Tai Ho Sun accepted them and carefully put them inside the bag which also held the rubies and three jades she had just sold to him.

"And mine." he held his hand out.

She sighed and gave him another one. There were seven originally and she had four left. "Keep the seeds and return them to me if you can. These are special apples, nothing like the ones on the market."

Tai Ho Sun looked at the apple and took her words at their face value. It looked like every other green apple on the market but bigger in size. He didn't even like green apples and he was only teasing her when he made the request but she had obliged him anyway.

She was too kind, sweet and generous for her own good. She had really not lived in the world of the wealthy long enough. He wondered how long it would take for her to become cold and suspicious towards almost everyone like the rest of them.

"Oh, and this too." she said.

She brought five medium sized beef jerky jars out of the bag. "I couldn't pack enough in my bag so I brought only a few. Tell grandfather that I will send him some more next week."

Tai Ho Sun had come with three bodyguards not just for his physical safety but the jewels too. He called one of them over to carry the jars to the car.

With a smile on his face, he said, "So this is the famous beef jerky he keeps bragging about. Grandfather is really lucky that he has a granddaughter like you who is spoiling him. Aah!, when will my sister care about me like this as well?"

He sighed and pretended to pout.

"Mr. Tai," Caishen called him out in a sterner voice than he intended.

Tai Ho Sun laughed and stood up. He had irritated Alix's husband enough.

"Little sis, bye for now. I will talk to you later." He looked at Caishen and smiled. "Brother-in-law, please allow me to buy you a meal soon. We are family now."

Who is his family? He is a very sly man. Caishen thought.

"Should I escort you to your car?" Alix asked him.

"No." Caishen answered.

The two unrelated siblings looked at him in wonder. Why was he answering a question which was not meant for him?

Caishen had a flashback to the day Biming kept answering his questions when that female medical examiner he called sister Ning diagnosed him.

Tai Ho Sun meanwhile waved at Alix and he left.

She turned to Caishen and rubbed his back. "Hubby Zhang, my brother is gone."

Caishen looked into her eyes and answered, "I am the only man who can live off you."

"Oh!" she responded in surprise.

He felt some embarrassment for saying something as ridiculous as that. Why had he even said it, he wondered.

He cleared his throat and opened his mouth. "We are married." he stated.

She touched his cheek and answered, "I know, hubby Zhang. We even have matching rings to prove it."

She raised her left hand and made her fingers dance as she showed off the ring he gave her.

In her mind, she heard the system asking, "Do you want to see something interesting?"

"I am going to use the restrooms quickly." she kissed him on the cheek and jumped up.
