The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 614: A big windfall.
Chapter 614: A big windfall.
The man gasped and slapped at Alix’s hand, he wanted to talk but the paw squeezing his throat would not let him get a word out.
Alix did not lighten up, she squeezed even harder as if she intended to break his neck. "I bet you are surprised that I recognized you. You are such a great actress, if it was anybody else but me, they would have believed you completely and let you go."
She roved her eyes over him slowly and smirked, the skill of this system host was really amazing. Chin Chin had taken off her black robe and remained in an open vest and smudged dirty trousers. She or he had transformed into a short skinny young man that was trembling as if he was so cold and starving.
He could not have been more than seventeen and he looked really pitiful.
If another system host found him, they would have carried him back to the hidden city as a rescue or released him. But she was not any other system host; she was Tai Alix, system host to the mighty blue elf. Also, she had a tracking device in Chin Chin and no matter where she was or who she became, Alix could find her easily.
"I have no time to play with you; unfortunately, there is a lot more trash to clean up. However, there is someone that would love to have a detailed conversation with you. I apologize in advance, it is not going to be a pleasant one." Alix shared with her.
She sent her into her bag directly without bothering to make her unconscious. The system would take it from there, taking Chin Chin to its domain.
Alix flew back into the building and perched steadily on one of the beams, looking for her husband. The battle was mostly finished, wrapped up quickly because most of the system hosts at this bizarre gathering were weak.
Like many of Genesis’s followers, they were mostly morphers of some kind and those were always easy to take down.
Her eyes located Caishen, he was holding the preacher up by his neck, questioning him it seemed. The purple irises of his eyes meant that he was using hypnosis to dig for the answers that he required. Since her hearing was already amplified, she concentrated on his voice only, blocking out the sounds of everyone else.
"You are Yu Deng, the one that connects people to doctor Ji Ze Kun, the miracle doctor of Yunnan. Do not bother denying it, i have been digging and tracking this information down for months. What I want is a clear identification, who in this room is doctor Ji?"
Alix was not familiar with doctor Ji, the miracle doctor of Yunnan.
"Hey, blue smurf, what is he talking about?"
"Host, your husband has been looking for the miracle doctor that made the miracle pills which are actually poisoned pills that almost killed him. If you can flash back to the conversation you had shortly after you married him when he raised the issue of the divorce. The pills have do not just have mercury, they have other worrisome chemicals. Initially they seem to work but eventually, those that take the pills die. They are mostly sold to wealthy and famous individuals like your husband."
"Got it, thank you." She cut it off.
It would provide a whole dossier of information if she needed but it wasn’t necessary at the moment. She figured out that her husband had been on his own side mission. He had deliberately allowed himself to be captured because he had found the location of his target.
Unknowingly, he stumbled onto the headquarters of the dark side. Was this the work of fate or a happy accident created by Majesty and his luck? Either way, thanks to her hubby, they could cut Genesis’s power down to 5 or 10%.
First his wealth, then his headquarters and people, all that was left was the person.
"He is in the Stone forest inside the rocks." Yu Deng answered and Alix heard him clearly.
He was like a mindless zombie when he responded, reciting all the information Caishen needed. Caishen was not finished; the Stone forest was a large place after all. He got his phone and used a voice command to bring up a map of the Stone forest. He then held the phone up to Yu Deng’s face.
"Show me where precisely."
Alix disseminated a similar command to the blue smurf. "Show me a map of the Stone forest, look for reports of unusual activities and find me that quack doctor."
A shadow fell over her and she looked up, brandishing her claws out and ready to rip any threat apart. It was no threat however, just Mantis. She had used spider webs to fly herself up onto the beam Alix was standing on.
The half-spider, half woman casually sat down, her many spider legs flopping around. She looked at Caishen and turned to Alix with accusation and curiosity in her eyes. There was a question in there which she expected Mantis to ask in a few seconds.
Alix had long expected this to come the moment Caishen started taking out dark side system hosts like a terminator on a mission. The secret they had keeping could not be kept any longer.
"You did not tell me that your husband was one of us." Mantis said it.
"I did not think that I was obligated to share such information Mantis, especially because I am not him. His system, his choice." She sat down and tried to cross her legs but with such a big belly, it was impossible. She gave up and sat in the most comfortable position she could afford. Thankfully, the beams were wide and strong enough to accommodate her.
Down below, dark side system hosts were being led away in special handcuffs which could not be broken easily.
"What’s going to happen to them?" She asked curiously.
"There will be a trial and prison sentences depending on their crimes." Mantis shared.
Alix swung her legs slowly, pondering on what a trial for system hosts was like. Would it be just like the normal criminal trials with a judge and a jury? Did they have a courtroom where interested parties could come and watch? Were lawyers involved?
There was so much she wanted to know about the process and lastly, she wanted to see the prison that could hold system hosts. What other criminals were held there?
"It is a yes to all that with the exception of a jury." Her system replied.
Mantis rubbed her hands together and then stretched her arms out. "This is a big victory, a windfall for us. With all the information here, we can finally move on all the locations of Genesis’s secret lairs worldwide and shut them down. Everyone associated with the dark side can be arrested and the matter can be put to bed. Perhaps we can have some good years before another one pops up."
Mantis was too quick to rejoice, in Alix’s opinion. They had yet to capture Genesis so they could not celebrate this win.
"Your husband is on the move." Mantis told her.
