Alix and So Mi met up at producer Mao's studio once she and Caishen went their separate ways. Director Ban was there too and surprisingly, so was Yura, her mother-in-law.

"Mother-in-law." She said in surprise. "Good morning. I didn't expect to see you here."

Yura pulled her in for a quick hug and gave her a once over. Then, she smiled and nodded with a satisfied look in her eyes. Alix's skin was getting fairer, her hair was glossier and her body had some more flesh, not like the very thin woman she had met before.

She was also dressed nicely, appearing very much like the wife of a responsible man.

They had picked up a gem from the dirt without realizing it. It made her heart full and contented.

"You look good dear." She said appreciatively.

Alix smiled happily.

"Thank you Mother-in-law." She sort of giggled as she answered.

Yura looked down at the cat in her hands and lowered her head.

Unaffected by the human staring at him curiously, Majesty looked back at her. A proud look in his eyes.

"Is this it, the new cat you adopted?" Yura asked Alix.

Alix scratched Majesty's chin and nodded.

"His name is Majesty."

Yura laughed. Majesty, was the cat royalty or regal looking?

"That is quite a strong name. After you named the first one baby I was sort of expecting some silly name like Boo, ice cream, cookie, love, honey."

Yura glanced at the cat again and added, not that Majesty is not an unusual name for a cat.

"But I didn't give baby her name, Caishen did."

"He said it was you." Yura told her.

"Really?" She answered in disbelief.

Yura nodded and affirmed her words.

"So Mi, get inside and start singing." Director Ban's voice came from the recording booth.

It was very loud and everyone looked in his direction.

So Mi was sitting down in a chair next to Director Ban's assistant. This whole time she had been wringing her fingers nervously.

This was a big moment for her, one that would possibly decide the trajectory of her career.

Even more nerve wrecking than Director Ban was her boss Yura who showed up out of the blue.

"You can do it So Mi, I believe in you." Alix cheered her on, loudly.

So Mi smiled gratefully, took a deep breath and walked into the recording studio.

"This is why I came." Yura mentioned.

Both of them watched So Mi through the transparent glass.

"I already listened to the song, the rough version of what you two recorded from the booth in your school.

I still think Chan Ki could have done a good job. But you were right about So Mi, she gives the song a more ethereal feeling."

Yura let her opinion be known.

"I call it elegance, she gave it elegance." Alix told her.

"What about ther three songs you wanted her to sing? Will she be recording them today as well?"

Alix nodded.

"Only one." She said.

Yura frowned and her eyebrows fell inwards.

"Why one? I can pay for an entire day of recording if that's what necessary."

Alix's face twisted weirdly and she looked at her mother-in-law in shock. Was she trying to squeeze everything out of So Mi at once?

"It's not time mother-in-law. She needs to perfect each song before the recording. We have been dedicating eighty percent of our time to this song. Twenty was reserved for the other one.

The last two have barely been touched."

"Shhhh."

Producer Mao turned around and said to them. They were talking too much and interfering with his job.

Meow, Meow, Meow.

Producer Mao turned around and glared at Majesty. I am asking humans to keep quiet but cats are talking, he thought.

"Sorry." Alix apologized on behalf of her cat.

Majesty was sleepy and he was demanding to be placed on a soft place.

Alix placed him around her neck.

"There, sleep and don't make noise." She told him.

Ever since she met him, all the cat did was eat and sleep. Even though it had been a day since the first meeting between them occurred, it made her wonder about the reward she was produced if she treated it well.

So far, there was no such reward.

Speaking of rewards, she thought, Billi deserved a reward for trying to steal this opportunity from her.

"System, do you remember those bad luck coupons which I got from my first mission?"

"What do you need me to do?" It asked.

"I got four, send Billi two. I want her to have a very good day."

She caressed Majesty's paws which were hanging next to her chest. On her face was the smile of a satisfied villainess.

Next to her, Yura felt a sudden chill and she rubbed her hands over her arms. It suddenly felt colder inside the studio for dome reason.

She looked at Alix who had no jacket on and worried for her daughter-in-law. Didn't she feel the sudden chill?

Alix was just smiling and watching So Mi with a satisfied and happy look on her face.

Yura opened her mouth to say something and she closed it.

Bang

Thirty minutes away from producer Mao's studio, Billi who had been rushing to stop the recording session suddenly got a flat tire.

She parked her car by the side of the road, got out and cursed.

"Shit!, what bad timing."

The car was not the most important thing on her mind however, stopping that song from being recorded successfully was.

She got her personal belongings from the car, called a tow truck and immediately started looking around for a taxi.

To get a taxi in the busy city was such a simple thing. They were always available, picking and dropping off customers every few seconds.

But for Billi, there would be no taxis. No matter how anxiously she looked at the road, no single car was heading her way, not even a private one.

"What the hell is going on?" She stomped her foot in the perfect temper tantrum.

Something snapped and she fell to the ground with a scream. The heel of her shoe was broken.

Her hands had been scratched and her purse had somehow made it to the middle of the road.

"Crap." She muttered as she tried to stand up.

She abandoned the other shoe as well because of the urgency of her situation.

Her eyes were on her purse. She needed to retrieve it immediately.

Barefoot, she stood up with the aim of walking into the road. Luckily, there were no cars on the move.

Honk, honk, honk.

As soon as she took one step, a loud honking was heard. Suddenly cars were available, and coming very fast like a hoard of elephants on the run.

Billi's eyes widened and freaked out.

"No, no, no." She muttered. She stepped back to the side of the road to avoid being hit.

Crunch.

The sound of her phone and whatever else was in her purse was loud in her ears. One after another, the wheels of all these cars drove over her purse, flattening it like a slice of bread.

As if that was not bad enough, a couple of birds flying by in the sky decided to randomly stop and take a shit.

All their droppings ended up on Billi's head with perfect aim.

Billi screamed, haunted and tortured. Nothing, absolutely nothing was going her way.

And yet, a part of her was still focused on getting to that studio.
