It was actually very simple as to why Baron Bacher was poisoned.

Dekan had secretly placed three [Extremely Poisonous Spike] cards into the demon student’s pocket the moment they entered the cooking class.

Furthermore, the [Extremely Poisonous Spike] cards were the latest improved version.

[Extremely Poisonous Spike 2.4]

[Category: Spell Card]

[Rarity: Blue Uncommon]

[Tier: 2]

[Effect: Create continuous poisoned and bleeding effect. This spell card can be triggered from a distance.]

[Note: Current version 2.4. Modified the bug where poison could be removed by tier 2 purification magic. - developer’s journal.]

Dekan guessed what sort of game they would be playing the moment he heard Baron Bacher’s opening phrase - ‘I sincerely invite you all to partake in my banquet.’

He knew that those who failed the game would become Baron Bacher’s banquet meal.

After all, this was ‘his’ banquet.

What would Bacher want to eat?

Naturally, it would be the three little demons before his murderous desire-filled eyes.

As such, as long as Baron Bacher ate the demon student, there was an extremely high probability that the Extremely Poisonous Spike would enter his stomach.

Using the Extremely Poisonous Spike to hunt large magical beasts was a trapping method Dekan frequently used in the Kuran Frontier.

He would first capture a small animal that the magical beasts enjoyed eating.

Then, he would place an Extremely Poisonous Spike inside the body of that small animal.

Then, he would release the small animal at the area where the large magical beasts were.

Once he confirmed that a large magical beast had captured the small animal and ate it, he would secretly summon the Ruined Poet before activating the Extremely Poisonous Spike.

As long as Dekan continued to supply magic power nonstop, the Extremely Poisonous Spike would continue to cause damage to its target.

Most importantly, Dekan had softened the Extremely Poisonous Spike to make it extremely flexible and also added a special layer of corrosion inhibitor to protect it against the stomach’s acidity.

As such, the Extremely Poisonous Spike can be triggered repeatedly inside the stomach of its prey once it’s swallowed.

Through that, the prey could be killed effortlessly.

The only downside to this was that it was a bit difficult to retrieve the magic card. Likely, it would be impossible for Dekan to retrieve the three Extremely Poisonous Spike cards inside Baron bacher’s stomach.

Nevertheless, it was not much of an issue for Dekan. Afterall, it was about time for him to develop the next version of the Extremely Poisonous Spike.

“Cornelia, help me tie him up.”

Dekan ordered.

Cornelia nodded. She placed away her hammer and took out another card Dekan gave her.

[Steel Wire Rope]

[Category: Equipment Card]

[Rarity: White Common]

[Tier: 1]

[Effect: None]

[Note: Can also be used as a weapon.]

It was a card that displayed the peak performance of mechanical functions and geometric performance. Steel wires were systematically twisted together to create a spiral around a rope core.. Then, it was lubricated with a layer of resin.

Although it was only a white common card, not even a tier four warrior would be able to struggle free from the binding of the steel wire rope with brute force.

In no time, Cornelia tightly tied up still suffering and twitching Baron Bacher. She stomped her foot back on his back to make sure he would not try to do anything.

“Done.”

“Good work.”

Dekan slowly raised his right hand. Ruined Poet turned into a ray of light, flew toward his hand and reverted into a card between his fingertips.

Baron Bacher immediately felt a sense of rebirth..

The tormenting pain was instantly relieved by a vast margin. It was as if he was lifted from a curse.

It took a while for him to regain consciousness to return to a normal state.

Although he was still feeling pain, it was so much better than before. He felt as if even the air he was breathing in was sweet.

“Are you ready to have a chat with me now?”

Dekan faintly leaned his body toward Baron Bacher and spoke with him from a towering manner.

“Die!”

Baron Bacher only felt one desire in his mind.

He wanted to quickly kill the fellow before him.

He was the cause of everything!

Murderous desire filled his eyes. He gathered all his strength to struggle free from the not-so-sturdy looking rope only to discover that it was exceptionally hard.

He cannot sense any magic enhancement on the rope at all, so why was it this tough?!

Upon discovering that he was unable to break free from the rope, Baron Bacher stretched forth his neck again. He wanted to devour Dekan.

But, before he could even revert back to his true form, Cornelia ruthlessly smacked down on his neck with her hammer. It even left a small crater on the ground.

“Ahhh!!!”

Baron Bacher screeched in pain.

That hammer smash was extremely painful!

It was clearly not a fatal attack but an intense pain accompanied it!

At this moment, Baron Bacher was extremely weakened. It was impossible for him to take on Cornelia’s brute force attack.

“Sigh, it seems like I’ll have to engrave a deeper impression in your memories.”

With a sigh, Dekan tossed out a card. He summoned the Ruined Poet again.

“This darkness… there is no hope… no salvation… for this darkness is me…”

Following an ode that caused Baron Bacher to feel as if his scalp was numbing, the brief moment of peacefulness disappeared.

Baron Bacher once again returned to his prior state of peak torment. The pain from within his body increased tremendously in an instant, ruining both his mind and body…

“Eah…guah..guu...”

Baron Bacher’s complexion turned deathly white. Random noises escaped from his opened mouth.

He finally realized that the summon covered by black mist was the source of the pain.

“Cornelia, don’t do it too hard. Tap his shoulder with your hammer.”

Cornelia raised her sledgehammer.

[Battlehammer of Terror]

[Category: Equipment Card]

[Rarity: Blue Uncommon]

[Tier: 2]

[Attack +200]

[Effect: This weapon causes twice the amount of pain.]

[Remark: “Here’s Cornelia!”]

It was a special battle hammer Dekan made for Cornelia. It perfectly suited her battle style and card set.

For the time being, Dekan was not able to create a battle sword that could withstand Cornelia’s strength.

That was why he created a temporary blunt weapon for her.

Compared to swords, blunt weapons had a stronger resilience to breaking.

The hammer was much larger than a regular hammer. Merely the handle was about as long as the swords Cornelia were using.

As such, Cornelia felt the hammer to be extremely comfortable to swing around.

Earlier, Ruined Poet wasn’t summoned when Baron Bacher was struck by the Battlehammer of Terror. Thus, he only felt twice the amount of pain.

And now, Ruined Poet was summoned.

A single strike from Cornelia’s hammer would bring forth twenty times the pain, something Baron Bacher had never experienced before.

Cornelia seemed to be trying her best in controlling her strength.

Like cracking a walnut, she gently smacked Baron Bacher’’s shoulder.

“Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!”

A screech of terrifying pain echoed through the classroom.

“How was it?”

Dekan asked.

It seemed like Baron Bacher was unable to speak. He continued to violently twitch on the ground.

Dekan: “Baron Bacher, do you know the feeling of being jolted awake by pain after losing consciousness from pain?”

Baron Bacher: “Ahhh..wuwuwu…”

Dekan: “Cornelia, wait until he regains his consciousness a bit before tapping his right hand, then his left hand and then his left foot.”

Cornelia: “What about his right foot?”

Dekan: “Leave that unharmed for his OCD to kick in.”

Cornelia nodded her head.

She does not suffer from OCD but this baron who paid so much attention to aesthetics was very likely someone who suffered from severe OCD.

Everything in his cooking classroom was arranged so orderly and nearly. Even his necktie’s position was so particularly placed.
