Third Life Reincarnation: Finally Born Into a Magical World-Chapter 59: Never ending clowns to offend
"You—!" Su Jian’s expression darkened instantly. "Then why are you here? This is the Western Mansion’s branch. Is this a place where trash who can’t even cultivate is qualified to step into?"
As long as one wasn’t deaf, it was obvious Ryan’s words had been aimed at him and Fan Chun.
Su Jian never imagined that Ryan would dare mock him so openly.
A useless waste daring to speak back? That was simply courting death.
If not for the women present, Su Jian truly felt the urge to strike Ryan on the spot.
Li Wujie, hot-blooded by nature, was about to retort, but Ryan stopped him with a single glance.
Ryan then looked at Su Jian calmly, gave him a dismissive look that clearly said you’re not worth my words, and turned away as if he didn’t exist.
That indifference was far more infuriating than an insult.
Su Jian felt as if his chest were about to explode.
"Pfft."
Wang Bi’er couldn’t help but laugh softly.
Seeing Su Jian deflated by nothing more than Ryan’s gaze filled her with inexplicable delight. Truth be told, she had long found Su Jian and Fan Chun annoying. If not for Zhu Yin’s presence, she wouldn’t even have walked alongside them.
In her eyes, the two were like buzzing flies. Hovering, flattering, praising themselves endlessly, overly attentive yet utterly irritating.
"Li Wei," Zhu Yin suddenly spoke, her tone cool. "Brother Su asked you something. Why didn’t you answer? And this is my father’s residence. Not just anyone can come here as they please."
Zhu Yin knew Li Wei.
In Fengyue City, there was only one Li Wei who couldn’t cultivate. Everyone knew him.
She had never thought highly of him. She admired strength and favored handsome, capable men. Ryan had never fit her taste. Su Jian, on the other hand, did.
That was why she had allowed Su Jian and Fan Chun to accompany her today.
Seeing Ryan mock Su Jian with such an attitude naturally displeased her, so she spoke up without hesitation.
What Zhu Yin hadn’t expected was that the once timid, withdrawn "waste" now dared to be so sharp-tongued.
The change was... unsettling.
Her gaze lingered on Ryan for a moment longer.
"Huh?"
Only then did she truly notice it.
Ryan’s aura had changed completely.
Whether it was his eyes, his posture, or the calm confidence radiating from him, he no longer resembled the useless figure she remembered. Standing there, he carried himself like a steady mountain, quiet yet imposing.
This... was Li Wei, the waste?
For the first time, Zhu Yin felt a trace of doubt about stepping in on Su Jian’s behalf.
Ryan, however, didn’t care what she thought.
After glancing at Zhu Yin twice, he turned directly to Wang Bi’er and said calmly, "I came today to visit Uncle Wang. We talked about many things, including the qualification exam. Uncle Wang also mentioned quite a few good things about you."
He didn’t even look at Su Jian or Zhu Yin while speaking.
The message was obvious. They weren’t worth addressing.
Since they showed him no courtesy, he had no reason to return any.
Wang Bi’er hadn’t expected Ryan to explain himself so gently to her. Her heart softened instantly, a smile blooming on her face.
Hearing that her father had praised her in front of Ryan, a faint blush crept onto her cheeks, making her look even more charming.
Unlike Zhu Yin, Wang Bi’er had personally witnessed Ryan’s strength on Yangsha Ancient Road. She knew what kind of person he truly was.
In her eyes, Ryan was a real hero.
And who didn’t admire heroes?
This subtle admiration, almost girlish in nature, was something Wang Zongyao had long noticed. In fact, he was more than happy to encourage it. In his eyes, if Ryan and Wang Bi’er truly came together, it would be a match made by heaven.
"Why doesn’t Brother Li stay a little longer?" Wang Bi’er asked softly, her tone shy. "Are you leaving already?"
"I’ve stayed long enough. It’s time to head back," Ryan replied with a smile.
"Then... Bi’er will visit Brother Li another day," she said, lowering her head slightly.
"Alright," Ryan nodded.
He turned to leave with Li Wujie, but someone stepped forward to block his path.
Fan Chun.
"Li Wei," Fan Chun said, forcing a smile, "I heard you just discussed the qualification exam with Special Envoy Wang? You’re planning to take the exam too?"
The scene from earlier had been burned into Fan Chun’s eyes. Wang Bi’er’s shy expression, her obvious fondness for Ryan, all of it made his teeth itch with jealousy.
Zhu Yin was Su Jian’s target.
But Wang Bi’er was his.
Seeing her treat Ryan so differently filled him with resentment.
What did she see in this waste?
Strength? He had none.
Yet Wang Bi’er treated Ryan this way.
Unable to swallow it, Fan Chun stopped him.
"You said you had a great conversation with Uncle Wang?" Fan Chun continued. "Do you even know who Uncle Wang is? How could someone like him talk with you? I seriously doubt it."
Zhu Yin also spoke up coldly, clearly displeased. "Whether you take the qualification exam or not has nothing to do with us. And there’s no need to exaggerate your relationship with Uncle Wang."
Ryan glanced at them and replied lightly, "Whether I take the exam or not is your business. And I don’t need to brag about my relationship with Uncle Wang."
"My father does have a good relationship with Brother Li," Wang Bi’er added softly, helping him. "Sister Zhu Yin, he isn’t lying."
She shot Zhu Yin a cautious look, not wanting things to become too tense.
Zhu Yin returned the glance, her expression clearly saying you’re siding with an outsider.
Still, she didn’t push the matter further. She merely snorted, pursed her lips, and turned silent.
Ryan gave no further attention to them. With Li Wujie beside him, he turned and left, his back straight and unhurried, leaving behind a silence far heavier than any insult.
"Li Wei, are you really planning to take the qualification test? A trash like you?" Fan Chun sneered, clearly unwilling to let the matter drop.
"Hmph. If he dares to participate," Su Jian added coldly, "I’ll make him understand one thing clearly. Trash will always be trash. There’s no such thing as turning over."
"Heh." Ryan merely smiled, not bothering to reply.
He truly didn’t feel like wasting words on these two. If this weren’t Fengyue City, if this weren’t right at the gates of the Western Mansion branch, he wouldn’t mind turning these jumping clowns into experience points on the spot.
But Ryan’s silence only made them more excited.
The two blocked his path deliberately, chattering nonstop, boasting about how easily they could crush Ryan with a single punch, clearly trying to provoke him into losing his temper.
The two girls nearby frowned slightly, feeling things had gone too far, but neither spoke up.
Wang Bi’er remained calm. She knew Ryan could handle this easily. Zhu Yin, on the other hand, felt Ryan’s indifference was nothing but arrogance.
"Are you two really that bored?" Ryan finally frowned, his voice turning cold.
"Oh? Angry now?" Su Jian laughed. "I thought you didn’t dare get angry."
"What, want to hit us?" Fan Chun stepped forward arrogantly. "Come on then. I’m standing right here. Got the guts?"
"Hmph!"
"Brother Wei, let me deal with them!" Li Wujie said angrily, stepping forward.
