Third Life Reincarnation: Finally Born Into a Magical World-Chapter 83: The Three Sky rank techniques that can change the fate
The first day of the third trial passed amid tension, shock, and endless discussion. Each participant fought ten matches, and at the current pace, the third trial would last roughly five days.
When the results of the first day were compiled, Ryan’s flawless record of ten consecutive victories was dazzling enough.
But what surprised everyone even more was the Li Clan’s overall performance.
Out of ten matches, Li Wujie won nine, Li Baijie won seven, and Li Shu, who was originally considered the weakest, actually won eight.
After consuming Ryan’s attribute pills, the strength of the three had undergone a dramatic leap, placing them firmly in the upper-middle tier among the more than fifty remaining candidates.
Naturally, if they had performed poorly after receiving so many benefits, Ryan would not have let them off lightly.
After the day’s events concluded and the discussions gradually died down, everyone returned to their respective homes. That evening, Ryan summoned Li Wujie, Li Baijie, and Li Shu to his residence.
"Brother Wei, you called for us?" Li Wujie exclaimed excitedly the moment he stepped inside. "Did you see our matches today? You have no idea how good it felt. I didn’t even use half my strength, and the candidates from other families were beaten straight off the stage. It was awesome!"
His voice was loud and full of excitement, almost bursting with pride.
"What are you shouting for?" Li Baijie shot him an annoyed glance. "If it weren’t for Brother Wei, do you think you’d be this strong?"
She almost blurted out the words "attribute pills," but quickly remembered Ryan’s reminder and swallowed them back, then glared at Li Wujie again.
"Yes, yes, Sister is right!" Li Wujie hurriedly nodded. "It’s all thanks to Brother Wei. And Sister did great today, too. Your results were amazing!"
Hearing this, Li Baijie snorted. "You’re mocking me, aren’t you? Among the three of us, I performed the worst. Li Shu won eight matches, and I only won seven. How is that not ridicule?"
Despite her words, she had to admit something in her heart.
Li Shu’s performance had truly surprised her.
Li Shu’s cultivation was the weakest among them, yet she managed to defeat opponents stronger than herself. That was no simple feat.
Li Wujie glanced at Li Shu, speechless. He couldn’t help but think that this usually gentle and obedient girl had been terrifyingly ruthless in the ring. Once she fought, she showed no mercy at all, attacking relentlessly until the match ended.
It was hard to imagine that such a sweet-looking girl hid such a ferocious side.
Li Shu, however, had already returned to her usual gentle demeanor. Hearing Li Baijie’s words, she spoke modestly, "Sister Baijie, today was just the beginning. Maybe my opponents weren’t strong enough, so I managed to win more. Future matches are still uncertain. We shouldn’t be complacent. Brother Li, am I right?"
Ryan nodded solemnly. "That mindset is very good. Staying humble is the key to growing stronger. But your performances today really exceeded my expectations. Keep it up."
"We will!" the three replied in unison.
"By the way, Brother Wei," Li Wujie suddenly asked, "you haven’t said why you called us. You didn’t call us here just to praise us, right?"
"Shut up," Li Baijie scolded him. "Brother Wei wouldn’t call us for no reason."
Li Wujie immediately closed his mouth obediently.
At that moment, Li Shu seemed to realize something. Her eyes lit up, and she smiled sweetly as she stepped closer to Ryan, holding his arm. "Brother Li, did you call us because you have something good to give us?"
Her tone was playful and expectant.
"Ah? What? Brother Wei, you still have good things for us?" Li Wujie’s eyes widened instantly, his face full of anticipation.
After all, the attribute pills Ryan had given them before were the reason for their explosive performance today.
If Ryan called them again now...
Who knew what kind of surprise awaited them this time?
Ryan looked at Li Shu, who was clinging to his arm and acting coquettish, and could only shake his head helplessly.
Yet, he had to admit it in his heart.
Li Shu was genuinely adorable.
Before his transformation, when he was still branded as a "waste," he rarely interacted with this talented little cousin. Back then, he neither had the confidence nor the standing to get close. Only now did he realize that beneath her gentle appearance was a sweetness capable of disarming anyone.
Having a younger sister like this was... actually not bad at all.
"Well, I do have something for you," Ryan said with a smile. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
As he spoke, he flipped his wrist. Three thin booklets appeared in his hand, taken directly from his system backpack.
"Really? There are gifts?" Li Shu’s eyes lit up immediately, her face full of joy.
"What are these?" Li Baijie asked calmly. Compared to the others, she was much more restrained, even when faced with a gift.
"Brother Wei, don’t tell me these are cultivation manuals?" Li Wujie guessed casually. His tone was relaxed, but his interest clearly wasn’t high.
To him, only things that could directly boost strength, like the attribute pills, were truly exciting. A few thin booklets didn’t quite stir his enthusiasm.
"Oh?" Ryan raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised. "You guessed right on the first try. They’re cultivation techniques."
"Ah? Really?" Li Wujie froze for a moment. He hadn’t expected his random guess to actually be correct.
But instead of excitement, disappointment flickered across his face.
Cultivation techniques?
Martial skills or secret arts would have been far more thrilling. Still, he didn’t voice his dissatisfaction. After all, this was a gift from Ryan, and rejecting it outright would be disrespectful.
"Yes, cultivation techniques." Ryan nodded and handed the three booklets to them.
Li Wujie received Decisive Tyrant Art, Li Baijie was given Flowing Water Through the Clouds, and Li Shu held Lightning Flash Scripture.
Each technique had been carefully chosen by Ryan, perfectly suited to their temperaments and cultivation paths.
"Brother Wei," Li Wujie asked hesitantly after taking a glance, "what rank are these techniques? The best one in our Li Clan is already the Earth rank Water Purification Art. Don’t tell me you want us to switch cultivation methods if these aren’t better than that?"
Li Baijie also frowned slightly. "Yes... Changing cultivation techniques isn’t easy. It wastes time and can even damage one’s foundation. I..."
She stopped short, unwilling to outright refuse Ryan’s goodwill.
Ryan understood her concerns perfectly. He didn’t explain immediately, nor did he show any displeasure. Instead, he smiled calmly.
"Take a look first," he said. "Whether you change or not is your choice."
Waste time? Trouble?
If Earth rank techniques could be exchanged for Sky rank ones, countless people would fight to the death for the opportunity. There was no need to explain something so obvious.
Truly good things spoke for themselves.
Li Baijie nodded, though her expectations remained low. Li Wujie was the same, flipping the pages half-heartedly.
Only Li Shu, who trusted Ryan completely, opened her booklet with genuine anticipation.
Then—
"What?"
Li Wujie was the first to shout. His hands trembled as he clutched the booklet, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"This... this... Brother Wei, are you serious? This is really for us?"
Li Baijie stood frozen in place, lips trembling, words failing her entirely.
Li Shu reacted differently. She jumped up happily, rushed to Ryan, and stood on tiptoe to plant a light kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you, Brother Li! I really, really like this gift!"
Ryan stiffened for a brief moment, then touched his cheek and laughed helplessly.
"As long as you like it," he said. "All three are Sky rank techniques. I picked them specifically for you, so switching won’t harm your foundations. It’ll just take some time."
"Sky rank...?"
His casual tone hit the three like a thunderbolt.
"Sky rank cultivation techniques?" Li Wujie nearly screamed. "My heavens!"
Just from reading the contents, he already knew the techniques were extraordinary. But he never imagined they were Sky rank.
