Third Life Reincarnation: Finally Born Into a Magical World-Chapter 95: The Challenge with Lingyin City’s representatives (Part-10)
"Li Wei! I knew it! I knew he could do it!"
"Fengyue’s true hope! He’s our hope!"
"Fang Tian threw a high-grade Sky-rank martial art at him—and Li Wei just... punched it apart! Who else in Lingyin can even dream of matching that?"
"I believe it now. I really believe it—Li Wei is going to carry us all the way!"
"This is what a real genius looks like! Not those exempted seeds that got folded in one hit!"
"So what if Lingyin City strutted around like they owned the place? Li Wei hadn’t even bothered to step up yet!"
"Li Wei is too handsome! Forget Yuan Qiong, forget Fan Wei—I’m Team Ryan from now on!"
"You hear that over there, Lingyin dogs? You’re not strong. Our Brother Wei just hadn’t moved his hand yet!"
"Keep barking! Let’s see how many pig heads Li Wei turns you into before the day ends!"
"Li Wei is the strongest! Lingyin City is nothing but trash!"
The insults flew back and forth like arrows, but this time Fengyue held every advantage. The home crowd drowned the visitors in a relentless tide of mockery and joy. Every shout, every curse, every wild laugh felt like reclaiming something that had been stolen.
The atmosphere had flipped completely.
The heavy fog of despair that had hung over Wushuang Square for hours was gone—blown away in a single devastating punch.
Humiliation? Vanished.
Fear? Gone.
In its place roared life—fierce, unbridled, triumphant.
Fengyue City breathed again.
And at the center of it all stood Ryan.
He hadn’t moved from the ring. His robe was still pristine. His expression was calm, almost detached, as though the thunderous ovation around him was nothing more than background wind.
But to every soul watching, he was something else entirely.
A hero.
The one who had dragged them back from the edge of the abyss.
They had needed a victory—any victory—to prove they weren’t weak, weren’t worthless, weren’t doomed to be trampled by outsiders.
Ryan had given them more than that.
He had given them dominance.
"Li Wei! Li Wei! Li Wei!"
No one knew who started the chant.
It didn’t matter.
In the next breath, the entire square took it up. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Citizens in the stands. Candidates waiting below. Elders on the high platform. Even the vendors who had paused mid-sale, mouths open in awe.
The name rolled across the vast open space like rolling thunder.
In that moment, he stood at the absolute center of Fengyue City’s faith.
Every eye was on him. Every heart beat in time with the chant.
Down among the Lingyin City candidates, one young man clenched his fists until the knuckles whitened. His face was dark, twisted with unwilling bitterness.
"Hmph," he muttered under his breath, barely audible over the roar. "So what if he won one match? We still have four people left. This isn’t over."
The words barely left his mouth before they were swallowed.
A fresh storm of curses and laughter crashed down on him and his companions.
"Four? You’ll need forty!"
"Send them all at once! Li Wei’s still not even breathing hard!"
"Go home, Lingyin trash! The adults are talking now!"
The visitors shrank back instinctively, shoulders hunching against the onslaught.
This was home ground.
And now, finally, Fengyue City had its champion.
"How about it? Didn’t I say we weren’t finished yet? Do you really think you’ve already won?" Wang Zongyao turned his head and smiled at Tang Wuying after Ryan secured the victory. His tone was relaxed, even teasing.
After all, he knew Ryan’s true strength.
A cultivator who could contend with an Upper Exalt facing opponents at the Upper Elite level was like an adult swinging a blade at toddlers. There was no difficulty at all.
Still, knowing the outcome beforehand didn’t lessen the pleasure. Seeing Tang Wuying’s darkened expression made Wang Zongyao feel indescribably satisfied.
Tang Wuying snorted coldly, clearly displeased. "So what if you won one match? We still have four people left." His words sounded calm, but the irritation beneath them was impossible to hide.
Ordinarily, this situation wouldn’t have unsettled him.
Yet the unrestrained cheers for Ryan and the relentless ridicule directed at Lingyin City pressed down on him from all sides.
As an examiner, as an Upper Exalt, he still couldn’t detach himself completely from pride and emotion. No one could remain unmoved while being mocked so openly.
His gaze hardened. Turning toward the candidates from Lingyin City, Tang Wuying spoke in a cold, commanding tone. "Liu Yu, you’re next. There’s no time to waste. Win quickly."
"Yes!" A firm voice answered. Liu Yu stepped forward and leapt onto the ring without hesitation.
As soon as he stood firm, Liu Yu looked straight at Ryan and spoke loudly, his voice deliberately carrying across the square. "Your name is Li Wei, right? I admit you’re not bad. You managed to defeat Fang Tian. But against me, you have no chance. I am a four-star Upper Elite. Fang Tian was only a three-star. Beating him means nothing."
His declaration was aimed not only at Ryan but also at the people of Fengyue City. After enduring their cheers and insults, Liu Yu intended to drag Ryan down from his pedestal in the most brutal way possible. That was also the unspoken meaning behind Tang Wuying’s order.
A ripple of unease spread through the crowd.
"A four-star Upper Elite?"
"That’s already on par with some of our Clan heads!"
"This Liu Yu claims Fang Tian was easy to defeat... can Li Wei really handle someone like that?"
The cheers wavered, replaced by anxiety. Ryan had finally brought hope back to Fengyue City. If he fell here, everything would collapse again.
Ryan, however, simply laughed. His gaze swept over Liu Yu with a look that made the latter feel as if he were being appraised as something laughably insignificant. Without wasting words, Ryan crooked a finger. "Come on."
Liu Yu chuckled. "I like that attitude." He stopped talking and surged forward, his movements swift and sharp. In just a few strides, he closed the distance.
"Remnant Cloud Palm!"
With a roar, Liu Yu unleashed his technique. Palm wind howled as wave after wave of force surged from his hands.
His left and right palms struck in rapid succession, shadows overlapping until it looked as if dozens of palms were attacking at once. The strikes came from every angle, sealing all avenues of retreat.
Anyone familiar with martial arts could tell immediately that this was a top-grade Sky-rank palm technique. In sheer offensive density, it was even more oppressive than Fang Tian’s leg arts.
Palm shadows filled the air, surging toward Ryan like a storm. The pressure alone made spectators feel suffocated.
Yet Ryan remained calm. A faint smile tugged at his lips as he looked at Liu Yu with unmistakable disdain. "Is this all you’ve got? That’s disappointing."
Once again, he didn’t retreat. He didn’t dodge.
Ryan merely raised a single hand in front of him and began to move it casually, shifting left, right, up, and down.
Wherever his palm passed, the incoming strikes vanished as if they had crashed against an invisible wall. No matter how fierce the palm wind or how dense the shadows, not a single blow could get past him.
Liu Yu’s eyes widened in disbelief. "What?"
