This Spiritual Energy is Lethal!-Chapter 122 - I, Chen, have acted all my life...
Chapter 122 -122 I, Chen, have acted all my life…
Chen Ke’s speed drastically dropped from 180 to 40 mph, the tires ground out white smoke on the road and left four black tracks.
This two-day Nissan GTR was four-wheel-driven with superb braking performance. The moment Chen Ke stepped on the acceleration, he felt an immense force; had he not been buckled up, he would have shattered the windshield and flown out.
The vehicle behind Chen Ke wasn’t too far away; Chen Ke was ready to sacrifice a taillight to collide with the guy’s front.
However, just as the two cars were about to crash, the rear car quickly reacted by decelerating and swerving aside. Chen Ke couldn’t help but admire his reaction capabilities.
The car overtook Chen Ke, its windows were tinted with a purple privacy film, making it impossible to see the driver inside, but that move made it clear that Chen Ke was not easy to handle,
In fact, more dangerous than an average racer.
Because those in street races wouldn’t deliberately aim to wreck the opponent’s car and kill the driver.
Chen Ke smirked, shifted gears, and accelerated to the right rear side of the other car, aiming to graze its right rear. In high-speed driving, just a slight touch there, followed by a twist of the steering wheel, could send that car spinning out of the guardrail.
Of course, Chen Ke didn’t want to kill him, just to make him crash into the grass and stop in a flowerbed.
It seemed the other driver guessed Chen Ke’s intention; as Chen Ke accelerated, the other also swerved in the same direction and slowed down, circumventing to be behind Chen Ke.
Chen Ke was shocked and glanced at the rearview mirror; the car was trying to do to him what he had planned for it.
In an instant, he felt his car get bumped, making the road outside the windshield appear twisted. The opponent’s front hit his left rear.
The car raced forward, slightly skewed, the front and rear tires burning rubber and emitting intense friction sounds.
Chen Ke firmly gripped the steering wheel, which involuntarily kept turning left; he knew that losing control now would not only send him crashing into the flowerbed but with his posture and speed, the car would surely flip, roll several times on the ground, then lay crumpled in the grass like scrap metal.
Chen Ke licked his lips—his opponent was even more ruthless than expected, certainly not the usual kind of racer.
“Chen Ke, do you need help?” Lucina’s voice came through the phone.
“I can handle it,” Chen Ke was about to hang up but the intense shaking of the car made him drop the phone under the seat.
He looked forward, saw a semi-covered tunnel carved through the mountain, and realized the other driver wanted to crash him into the wall.
“Nice try,” Chen Ke muttered under his breath.
He glanced back through the rear window and a wild expression crossed his face.
“Lin Mo, what would you do in this situation?” Chen Ke talked to himself.
His hand reached for the handbrake.
“Let’s see how good your instincts are…” Chen Ke smiled.
Biting down, he suddenly turned the steering wheel all the way to the left, then yanked the handbrake; the car swiftly spun around on the road.
The opponent’s car, pressing on Chen Ke’s rear, carried forward with the momentum.
Chen Ke released the handbrake, slammed the accelerator to the floor while still keeping the wheel turned left.
Chen Ke’s car performed a 360° spin, dragging a large swirl of white smoke. When the front was aligned with the road ahead, Chen Ke immediately turned the steering wheel all the way to the right and stepped on the accelerator.
The engine roared, and the GTR-R35 shot out like an arrow, charging toward the rear of the opponent’s car.
The cars collided, Chen Ke’s car rammed into the rear end of the other car. He revved up the engine and pushed forward with all his might until the other vehicle spun around to face him, then he swiftly drove into the tunnel.
The other car swerved and drifted twice on the road before finally stopping just short of hitting a wall. The Asian driver with long hair rolled down the window and smiled as he watched Chen Ke’s taillights.
Chen Ke steadied his vehicle and drove towards the meeting point. He picked up his cellphone and called Lucina.
“Lucina, how’s it going over there?” Chen Ke asked.
“We’ve already shaken off the drivers, how about you?” Lucina replied.
“I just handled it, so let’s see who gets to Walmart first, girl,” Chen Ke laughed.
“Don’t be too slow,” Lucina laughed and hung up.
Three cars headed toward Gun Tie District. After Chen Ke and his crew left, three more cars that had been chasing them stopped at the tunnel exit. A burly bald man got out of his purple muscle car and leaned on the hood, staring at the road ahead.
“Are you just going to give them the cars?” a blonde man from the Nissan modified car asked.
“Lucina needs those three cars more than we do, Brian,” the bald man said slowly.
“They’re pretty skilled,” the Asian driver agreed.
An hour later, in Walmart’s underground parking lot.
Lucina and Lipo got out of their cars and gave each other a high-five and a hug, as if they had achieved something tremendous in their lives. Chen Ke stood by, unable to join in.
The cars that the women had driven back were all undamaged, but Chen Ke’s only had its front bumper askew and two lights broken.
However, Lucina didn’t mind, since the three cars would be repainted and partially modified once back. As long as they were not too damaged to start, it wasn’t a problem.
“Okay, the three beautiful cars are all here; I don’t need to know who the buyer is, but can you at least tell me when the deal is happening? I’d like to know when I’ll get the money,” Lipo asked, arms crossed.
“Don’t rush, Lipo. Our buyer is very interested in these three cars; they won’t back out. But for now, you need to lay low from Boss Tang. I’ll call you in a few days,” Lucina said with a smile.
“Of course, of course… My dear sister has never deceived me… I’ll wait for your good news then,” Lipo said as she adjusted her brownish-black hair and then turned to look at Chen Ke.
“Chen Ke, it seems our brief partnership ends here, but I think maybe we can stay in touch privately in the future…” She walked over to him, the female racer seemingly interested in Chen Ke, and gave him her phone number.
Luck Valley never lacked good drivers or races. As a race queen, Lipo had access to race information and might even help Chen Ke secure a spot in a race.
HEMA swordsmanship and street racing were things Chen Ke wanted to try in his previous life but never had the time or means to do so. Since coming here, it all seemed more attainable.
A car fit for racing… he could manage that. Chen Ke silently planned, thinking about challenging the gym leader at Golden Arthur and perhaps even Boss Tang here…
“Great, if there’s time and the opportunity arises, I’ll contact you,” Chen Ke told her as he handed her his phone number.
“I’ll be waiting for your call, handsome,” Lipo said with a lick of her lips, patting Chen Ke’s shoulder.
Lipo bid them farewell and then casually left the parking lot. Once she was gone, Lucina slapped Chen Ke on the back, frowning with displeasure.

“I’m telling you, Chen Ke, if you think you can play Lipo, you’re mistaken. She’s played more men than you’ve been with women. Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Lucina said.
Chen Ke smiled and didn’t reply. He patted Lucina’s shoulder, saying, “I still have some things to take care of here; you go back to the gun shop.”
Lucina glanced at Chen Ke, seeing yet another fool smitten by a woman. She sighed and walked toward the parking lot exit.
The situation wasn’t as Lucina thought, but Chen Ke didn’t elaborate further. In his life, why should he have to explain himself to others?
