Thousands of Brilliant Stars: You Deserve the Best!-Chapter 171: The Divorce Is Today
Vera never expected, Iris Crawford would dare!
The piercing pain made Vera let out a heart-wrenching scream, and then Iris laughed and directly cut a gash on her face!
She gripped the knife tightly, seemingly unafraid, wishing the blade could penetrate Vera’s face. She laughed amidst the chaos, "Feel the joy of disfigurement for yourself!"
Vera couldn’t handle the shock, and fainted on the spot!
Peach was stunned. While she was simply treating Gia’s wound, she called out Iris’s name, her voice trembling, "Iris! Iris, come back! Lachlan, stop Iris!"
But Lachlan remained indifferent, simply watching Iris help Gia unleash immense anger. She seemed like the judge of fate, the wicked one who committed atrocities and will eventually bear the consequences!
Not until Iris put down the knife, flipping it once more in her hand and skillfully slipped it back into the sheath, did she lift Vera off the ground and finally picked up her phone from nearby, glancing at the number on the screen.
The emergency call to Mr. J had already been hung up, but glancing at the number, Iris chuckled, silently memorized it, and threw the phone to Lachlan.
Lachlan caught it, and footsteps approached from behind — it was Noelle Rivers and Patrick Pierce, "We’re late, it was oddly congested all the way here..."
"I guess Jonas Kingsley scrambled the traffic signals to prevent you from finding us."
Lachlan coldly reasoned, then nodded toward Peach and Gia’s direction, "Noelle, your good friend is there."
Noelle rushed forward, seeing Gia’s face covered in blood, she could not stop her tears, "It’s all my fault, it’s all my fault for not coming sooner... your face, what will we do if it scars, you won’t be able to face anyone..."
At that moment, Gia wiped away some of the blood from her hands, seemingly trying to clear the liquid that blurred her vision.
She then reached out, holding Noelle’s hand, weakly clasping her hands together.
"I’ve held on all this time, and I will continue to hold on. I’m not afraid of being disfigured and not being able to face others, I will always face them."
She spoke words identical to those Iris once said.
"This isn’t a scar..." she smiled, not like she was ruined, but as if she was greeting the dawn.
"It’s a badge of honor."
Every scar inflicted upon the vulnerable maliciously will eventually transform into a badge of honor earned from battling evil.

Five days later, Vera’s agency announced her indefinite withdrawal from the industry due to a car accident, with no return date in sight.
Watching the flashing lights on television, Iris sat in the office coldly laughing.
"She got off easy."
Iris gnawed at her fingernail, "Just a withdrawal from the circle."
"Withdrawal is a devastating blow to her."
Sarah Shaw sat on the side, "Vera loved living under everyone’s spotlight, adored by all. Leaving this circle, is like taking her life."
Peach nodded thoughtfully, "Sarah makes a good point."
As for Iris, she had been recuperating at the office these past few days, her arm bandaged, having been cut by car glass in the recent incident. Now, it seemed like her arm would bear a few more scars.
Who knows if, over the years, her once flawless body would become covered in scars.
Yet, the more this happened, the more Lachlan found Iris captivating.
She was broken yet strong, unshakable as the stars shifted.
Outside the office, footsteps closed in, followed by a familiar voice, "Your assistant Steven Rhodes told me, the moment you returned to the country, you caused this trouble again, Iris, can you not let me be at ease?"
Everyone was startled, looking up to see The First Prince, Dante, holding Felix Crawford’s hand at the office entrance!
Seeing Felix being led by Dante, an ache tugged at Lachlan’s heart, then looked to the entrance, where Felix kept his head down, thinking of something and not responding to his gaze.
Lachlan’s heart grew cold.
This was the true father who raised Felix for five years, the nurturing bond had long surpassed blood ties, so Felix was so well-behaved in front of Dante.
Dante walked directly to Iris, seeing her bandaged arm, his blue pupils narrowed, and then he said, "Who sent you to take such a risky move?"
He looked up, glaring angrily at Lachlan, "Was it you?"
Lachlan felt uneasy under his brother’s gaze because Dante seemed more like he was using this incident as an excuse to provoke him. Previously, he would have vented his displeasure directly, but thinking of Iris, he didn’t want to make things difficult for her, so he forcibly endured it.
However, in Dante’s eyes, Lachlan’s silence was tacit approval of everything.
As an elder brother, he stepped forward, grabbing Lachlan’s collar, speaking through gritted teeth, "Lachlan, it’s been five years, haven’t you given up on this yet!"
Upon hearing this, everyone present turned pale.
In fact, everyone knew.
Five years have changed nothing.
Lachlan will never give up as long as Iris breathes.
His desires and ambitions were obvious, and even when Dante exposed them so directly, he didn’t panic. He even asked, "Why are you more anxious than I am?"
Because after five years he still hadn’t obtained anything?
Dante nearly punched his brother but knew he couldn’t. Letting go of Lachlan with resentment, Dante said to Iris, "Come back to The Kingdom of L with me."
"I still need to stay domestically for a while, there are some follow-up matters I need to handle."
Iris explained her reasons clearly and concisely, "Besides, do you remember what today is?"
Everyone looked at Dante.
The date?
What date?
Dante’s expression was about to break, "Shut up—"
"It’s our divorce day."
Iris stated this expressionlessly, "I have done everything I promised you back then, my sister and Cynthia are stable now. I’ll have Steven handle the divorce proceedings. Whether it’s made public depends on The Royal Family’s wishes."
Upon hearing these words, Lachlan felt a painful blow to his heart compared to Dante’s anxiety.
Sister...
Could marrying Dante initially be related to Skye Lockwood...
Lachlan felt like he was slapped, hearing the bloody truth from Iris’s mouth, echoing the sarcastic words he said to her long ago.
"I don’t want you to think there’s any benefit here worth grabbing by marrying shamelessly."
"Are you happy staying by my brother’s side? Does The Royal satisfy your vanity?"
Lachlan was struck like thunder.
He had said so many excessive things back then, Iris bore every word, each like a needle piercing her heart.
How did she endure, without saying a word... never acknowledging her grievances.
